"Just cover your ears," his father whispered, even covering them for him with his hands. Unlike Arren's already trembling hand, the Duke remained steady and composed. However, if one looked at his expression, he had also become much paler. 

With this kind of dangerous situation, even those who have a lot of experience in the field would still undoubtedly feel some nervousness in their guts. 

Arren nodded his head and put his hands in his ears; they were now on top of the Duke's hand, which was still covering his ears. 

"It's okay, dad. I-I'm okay..." Even with his shaky voice, he didn't forget to reassure his father, and yet he almost couldn't finish it as he almost wanted to yell from fright. 

Even with the covers in his ears, the battle outside could still clearly be seen. The piercing bullets that were hitting the cars and even some explosions that would happen from time to time—he even managed to see a car trampled upside down by the explosion.
