"You haven't won yet," Ilodyer suddenly spoke up to remind him.
Alinar shrugged indifferently and, being positioned in front of Ilodyer, looked up at him, saying, "But I haven't lost either."
"When time's up, you'll lose... even though today is just the first day," Ilodyer said after a moment's thought, "Even if you see my past, you can't take it away."
"Yes, memories of the past are yours... especially with a past like yours," Alinar said softly.
"You can face it, and face your past calmly."
Ilodyer furrowed his brow, suddenly feeling unfamiliar with Alinar.
He couldn't see that narrow gleam in his blue eyes, the one Alinar typically had.
However, Alinar was still Alinar; Ilodyer reminded himself not to be deceived by his current demeanor.
"Don't be so guarded, dear," Alinar said with a smile as he stood up, "Our bet is over."
