Capítulo 1: Chapter One:

I let out a small cry as I lay in between my mother and father's lifeless bodies. The carriage had been attacked. Though I couldn't see who had done it..I knew that the guards were being slaughtered from outside as their screams of agony still echoed through my mind. I shiver.

I couldn't bring myself to move then and not even now. The world tilted. The snow covered ground around me was sticky with blood. My parents and my people's blood.

My parents had shielded me when the attack started but the pain in shoulder reminded my that an arrow shot clean through. With the wound not healing I suppose that there was poison on the arrows.

I let a soft sob escape me. Mother. I turn my head in her direction. I flinch. Her eyes remained open but there was a small smile that graced her unmoving lips. With the last bit of strength that I had I slowly bring my hand up resting it on her cheek.

Another sob came. She was so cold. I squeeze my eyes shut unable to look at her any longer.

I wonder if I am going to slowly bleed out here. It wouldn't be so bad. I had lived fourteen years and I am with my mother and father.

SEVEN YEARS LATER.

I stare in disbelief at my brother Niko. Had he completely lost his mind?! I openly glare at him as he speaks to the War Council.

Niko had ascended the throne after our father had died. Niko had been eighteen at the time. But now at twenty-face he had grown into his masculine jawline. His hair was the same as father's dark like the night sky and curly. He didn't let it grow beyond his ears though.

His amber colored eyes held back his anger. He looked so much like father. The broad shoulders and muscular build. Even down to the tanned skin.

His thick dark eyebrows draw together as his eyes laid on me. I arch an eyebrow at him. His eyes begging me for help. I let out a low growl.

"The King is right. This war has caused senseless blood shed. Including that of the former King and Queen. The unborn princess. So many lives for what?"

I notice that the room had gone completely silent as these old goats stare at me. Some of them even looked alittle afraid of me. Good. As The last Dragon-borne they should be afraid.

"But Princess-even if that is so we must seek justice for those who killed your parents." I slam my hand down on the table and growl. I knew my eyes had turned.

"Lycans didn't kill them! Whether or not you agree. The King has the final say! If you try and go against him then we will simply replace you." The man flinches back in his seat. I couldn't help but smirk. He nods his head but remains silent.

I turn to Niko and nod my head for him to continue. He clears his throat and shifts his eyes to the council members.

"Right your assignments. Draft a letter and alliance treaty. Pull our lands that are close to their boarders and see if we can possibly use those as a token of good will for this alliance." The council members glance at me before nodding and filing out of the room. Niko leans back in his chair and sighs loudly.

"I know that you don't like the idea of an alliance with them. But this is the only way. I do not want to attend another funeral. I inhale a deep breath and stand up.

"I'm always on your side brother. No matter what the topic is. But there is no forgiveness in my heart for them." I walk toward the door grabbing the handle I turn and look at my brother. He wore a sad expression as he looks down at the papers infront of him.

Lycans..they had done nothing. They were a attacked a few times but the hordes but they always came out unscathed they were unhinged and ustable creatures. If their nature got the better of them they could easily slaughter a whole village.

Shaking my head. I head down toward the training ground. Sara had informed that there were new recruits for The Elite Guard. I could feel myself smirk. Good. I needed to let off some steam and they could use a good beating as we did their basic training.

The cool breeze whips my scarlet curls behind me. I sigh softly. I loved feeling the wind. But, being a Dragon-borne didn't give me the ability to fly sadly. Dragon-bornes were always female.

The only ones that were left were My mother, my unborn sister and I. But, with both them gone. I was the only remaining Dragon-borne. My blood boiled at the memory of my Mother's lifeless eyes.

I dont remember alot from that night. But, I've heard the stories. That when my brother found me there was a Lycan in wolf form standing over me. No longer with my mother and father. My heart jumps to my throat.

They thought that meant that Lycans had done it. but I would have smelled them of it was. I didn't smell Wolves that night. I smelled Sulfur. I shiver at the thought of what that meant.

"Our Valient Leader has returned from the council chambers at last!" I arch an eyebrow as I turn my head toward the sarcastic voice. Pink hair caught my attention first and then her heart shaped face. She smiles Wickedly revealing her fangs. I glance up at her ruby eyes.

She was sporting her black leather armor. That clung to her body. She has a small frame and is about five-eight. I give her a warning snarl.

"Selene. Why aren't you with the new recruits?" Vampire speed or not she had orders and I excepted her to follow them. She raises an eyebrow at me.

"Why are you in a bad mood?" I huff and look around. Some were training and some were picking weapons.

"How many stayed?" Selene chuckles drawing my attention.

"About four or five." I nod and glance around again.

"Send them to Rebecca. Push them." I turn on my heels and walk toward the forest. Selene grabs my hand.

"Freya? Are you alright?"
