Blanca didn't see it coming, even with her extraordinary senses, because it happened so swiftly. Alpha Liam slung the corpse on his shoulder and sprinted so rapidly that he appeared hazy in Blanca's eyes as he passed through them in the hallway; what she heard next was a faint explosion noise from above them, most likely kilometres away from the structure.

"What the hell was that?" Blanca asked Dimitri, all the while still slung on his broad shoulder as her hands clung tightly as her life depended on his warm, amazing scent. No one could blame her if she preferred to stay there and enjoy the lovely fragrance of the man. A girl could dream, but she wanted nothing but to stay right there for the rest of her life. Call her naive and hopeless, but she wanted that.
