Capítulo 5: Before The Storm.

We woke up in the morning, took our belongings, and left because the origin of Mohammed is the city of Fez, which is 297 km away from us. We went out and headed to a café to have breakfast. Then, we headed to the train station. The train will take us about 4 hours or more to reach Fez. I am more focused on the language of dialogue here and their way of dealing, their clothes, their food, and their religion, which they value greatly. There are many mosques, which are huge buildings with a tall column called a minaret. This is my first time visiting an African or Arab country, but I am not here for sightseeing, so I cannot gather enough information about the country. We arrived in Fez, left the train station, and went with Mohammed, who gave me enough information about Fez and its history while we were on the train. Mohammed knows all the places and landmarks we pass through, such as Dar Ad-Dibagh, Rahba Az-Zebib, Bab Bou Jeloud, and Al-Qarawiyyin University. We started to approach Mohammed's neighborhood in the old city. I noticed the presence of many tourists from different continents, especially Europe, and even Asians were there. There are many narrow streets, tight corners, and steep slopes. This is Mohammed's neighborhood, the neighborhood of childhood, where many stories are preserved within these narrow walls. And here is a close friend's house, where I will ask about Carman . The house, like all the houses in the neighborhood, is built and divided in an old-fashioned way. These houses are bigger than the biggest man in the world, by age. We knocked on the door, which reflects a touch of history, and a voice from inside said, "Who's there?"

Mohammed:Open, a young man who looks like Muhammad came out. They have similar features: white skin, black hair, and unique Moroccan clothing. Muhammad embraced and greeted him. They had a conversation, but I couldn't understand anything except for the joy and happiness on their faces. It seems that he is asking Muhammad to enter the house , but he refused. I think he said he was in a hurry and looking for Carmen. I heard the name Carmen. After another conversation, Muhammad said, "Let's go in, Carmen is here." It's strange; it seems like people here are close to each other. We entered the house, which seemed historical from the first step. There were decorations on the ground and a central courtyard with no ceiling. It was strange but beautiful. A man sat on a wooden chair at a table with two glasses of red liquid and what appeared to be papers. This man must be Carmen, matching Muhammad's description: white hair and shabby clothes. They hugged, expressing joy and happiness, and started talking. Then Muhammad's friend, Ayoub, whose name I learned, went to get something for us. Muhammad asked me in Japanese if we should talk in front of Ayoub or talk alone with Carmen. I replied that I didn't know Ayoub, so it's better to inform him and discover the secrets of the book here, away from people's attention. Muhammad explained to Carmen and Ayoub the reason for our visit, and I noticed their surprised expressions and intense focus on Muhammad. When Carmen saw the book, he started crying. Muhammad told me that it seems to be Martin's treasure. We didn't want to disturb Carmen, so we let him cry and inspect the book from the outside. He wiped his tears and put away what was on the table to make space for the book. I asked Muhammad to ask them to keep everything about this book within these walls and take responsibility for what might happen to us, the two of us. Although I haven't tested them yet and haven't fully trusted them, I trust Muhammad, and he trusts them, all for the sake of the book's content. Muhammad spoke to them, and I noticed some fear and concern on their faces, but in the end, they agreed and promised Muhammad and me, even though I didn't understand what they were saying. Carmen opens the book, and everyone holds their breath and focuses on it. We started flipping through the pages to get an idea of the book. It contains written pages and strange drawings, like historical drawings you find in museums and temples, appearing scientific, like indications of using something. There is a large title followed by written pages and drawings in order. This pattern continues throughout the book, but in the last title, the writing style, drawings, and paper color change. Towards the end, the writing style changes, similar to glossary explanations. Mr. Carmen closed the book.

and with precision, as valuable as a precious gem. Breaking the silence, we exchanged glances. Mohamed Karaman was asked, "Do you understand the language or drawings of this book?" He replied, "No, I don't understand it." Mohamed asked, "Then why did you entrust me with Martin's hidden treasure?" He responded, "I don't understand it, but I understand one thing about it, which Martin told me: it involves traveling across the universes. However, I believe it comes with punishment from God. These were the last words spoken by Mr. Martin before a large door opened and swallowed him."

Mohamed asked, "Do you know how to travel across the universes using this book?" Karaman answered, "Almost, but who would risk themselves to try something like this?" Silence fell, and everyone pondered Karaman's words and the secret of this book, which seemed unreal even in dreams. It appeared that Karaman was the most affected by this book, and it was unlikely he would attempt to travel across the universes, as he had witnessed firsthand what happened to a traveler who embarked on such a journey. Ayyoub remained silent, seemingly unable to comprehend what had happened. Only Mohamed and I remained.

Was he contemplating taking the risk himself? Was he considering hiding this book and returning to where we came from? Mohamed said, "I will travel across the universes." Everyone was shocked and stared at Mohamed. Karaman exclaimed, "Are you crazy? Will you leave your job and friends and risk yourself?" Mohamed replied, "If none of us is willing to sacrifice our family, friends, or work, we will never uncover the secret of this book. I have no family to work for, waiting for my return, and my job and friends are all of you. If I succeed and face no harm, I will return with the secret of this book that could change our lives." Silence fell once again, and every word uttered now carried weight. I slammed my hand on the table and said, "I am the one who will go."
