Capítulo 75: Reconciliation with the Brother-In-Law

The news that Cynthia had broken up with Freiheit was something he should've been glad to hear, yet for some reason, Evan's mind was a whirlwind of conflicting emotions.

"I…" Evan tried to speak, but no words would come out.

"Don't tell me you feel bad for me now, brother." Freiheit laughed, though there was no hint of joy in his eyes.

"I don't," Evan admitted, to the contrary. "I'm just surprised, that's all."

"Ouch!" Freiheit grabbed his chest as if he were having a heart attack, his signature reaction to Evan's quips. "Maximum emotional damage!"

Evan found himself laughing at Freiheit's consistent antics, only to look away embarrassedly when he realized what he had just done. When he finally returned his gaze to Freiheit, he was looking at Evan with wide blue eyes.

"You finally laughed."

Evan furrowed his eyebrows, looking at Freiheit with a hint of confusion. "What do you mean?"
