Grabbing my microphone, I went to the area where the people were arranged like a stage. “Hey and Hello to everyone here. Especially the business partners and almost all my friends here...

Ladies & Gentlemen. I warmly welcome you all to get yourselves comfortable here & enjoy to the fullest. Um… I just grab this mic just to utter some words and of course to give my gratitude to the people who deserved to be. The actual reason to have this party is, we’ve successfully accepted a company to work with the number one consultation service in Korea.

And guess what people!

To be honest, I should say I’m really really proud of my people who worked through this. Dear team and my staff, I’m really proud of you. This is not only my achievement. As a CEO, without you guys I can’t win over this great opportunity. I’m grateful to have a hard working team…”

Author POV

The crowd was cheering and clapping to his speech while Amy was drowning to her own thoughts. She was in the middle of the crowd as his wife of course beside him not knowing the real reason behind this party.

Amy’s POV

I was internally screaming at his aura. The way he grabbed the microphone, the way he greeted the people. I didn’t really know that this coldy could ever be polite and gentle towards others. And his speech. Damn his deep husky voice. I mean while he was giving his speech no one dared to talk even a whisper. His aura is literally something and he is the real character for a CEO. But my never ending thoughts halted by the words which he said.

What the fish? How is it possible? That’s the place where I work and whattttt?! He tried his best to get this opportunity??!

H-holy dolly. What an embarrassing moment. His own wife doesn’t know about his company things and damn even he doesn’t know where his wife works. I should keep my damn mouth shut the entire time and Noah Freaking Brandon!!! You broke one rule. What the fish? Arghhh you should let me know this. Arghh I should move out a little before anyone could find me as his damn wife.

As I wished I couldn’t move away when I felt an arm around my waist. Inhaling a familiar fragrance I shrugged out while giving him an annoying face. “So Mrs. Brandon. Don’t tell me that you didn’t know his big achievement” There he goes. “Jeon… I’m serious I really didn’t know this. Like I’m feeling really bad now. I don’t know why. And you know-“ as he saw my worried face he nodded at me. “I know I know. And I know how these cold a$$es behaving under the same roof and giving all dramatic, romantic scenes here just to give others a good image. Amy…It’s fine don’t feel bad. Maybe he didn’t have a time to tell you. And you didn’t even ask him too?right? ” And he titled his head while looking at me. I slowly nodded whispering no while looking down. “So both of you are at the fault in this. Don’t ask me to advice you Amy. As you’re his wife. For the damn authority of knowing things as a WIFE, just talk about this after this party. Okay?” as he patted my back looking away.

Jeon was the best soul for my entire life. Only he knows the real me. And he knows how to control things around me like almost a father to me. He never judged me for who I’m. And I was a different character in front of him. I was a happy kid with him and that’s how our friendship was. I really missed him when he went for his higher studies. And almost both of us were having a lack of time with each other. But we didn’t cut the connection no matter what.

After the party

Amy’s POV

As always the car ride was silent. I was feeling very annoyed & irritated by the fact that I didn’t know the reason for the party. Even though I wasn't into letting know his things, this thing literally made me feel annoyed because he’s going to work with the company where I work. Seems like he also doesn’t wanna share the information about the rumor he got to know from his beloved friend; Blake Flynn Delane. As Jeon said, Flynn knew the company where I work and that was indirectly connected with the firm which they were trying to get the consultation services from a long time ago. It’s true that we’ve plenty of companies on pending lists to give our services. For my misinformation I missed that fact as his company also tried his best.

“Don’t you have anything to tell me Noah?” I asked it while with a mocking voice. “Ah- about what? I- I don’t have” There he goes not maintaining eye contact with me. “Oh really. That’s better then. Lol I was thinking that there must be something. If not then good” Thank god I told it when the car turned to the main gate of our mansion. Without letting him talk, I opened the door to my side when he waited for the maid to open the gate. “Amy wait! Where- hey wait!” I heard him shouting while struggling to open his door. And to show my mischievous plans for him, I opened the gate just to go inside for me and closed on him making a loud noise.

Finally I let out my anger from the gate. Poor thing! I’m sorry but I had to do it. Noah’s shouts decreased as I hurriedly went inside. However, surprisingly his voice was so loud. For what? Aren’t I the only one who can get angry about this issue? He’s the one who didn’t freaking let me know about his damn party. Let’s see who’s gonna win.

“Amy stop there! Where are you going? AMY! I said stop!” I flinched due to his loud voice & unknowingly my heartbeat was so loud inside my heart. His shout could stop me where I was going. I stayed silent because I was literally shivering because of his deep shout. No matter how, he didn’t raise his voice at me till now. “Are you deaf Amy? What is this drama of yours? If you’ve anything to ask or tell…just go ahead without mocking” still his voice is so high and I was listening to his heavy breaths as he was in so much anger. But why? What did I do for his anger?

“You got a mouth to shout at me! Noah seriously?” Not to start a fight between us, but I couldn’t stay silent when the reason was not mine. “What did you just say? Yeah, I got a mouth to talk. So what? So you’re telling me that only you can get angry or whatever the fish? Really Amy?” He started coming towards me before making a loud thud on the table near him. “So do you? Who the fish gave you permission to shout at me? And where you can’t find a single reason to be angry? For what are you behaving at me? Wtf I did Noah? When you're the first place to fake and making a drama in front of your dramatic fake people! Explain!” Even though I wasn’t into fights earlier deep inside me, I’ve already started crying heavily. I kept my hand on my chest, because the things I was telling was true and hurtful to receive such behavior from Noah.

“Who are you to know my anger or whatever the thing is? You were the one who masking your face with fake and making a drama. Why can’t you just directly tell me without hiding and specially without mocking me?” Noah and I were having a small distance between us & both of us were eyeing each other directly in our eyes. He was having so much anger & it was really visible. For a minute I was scared to utter any word as he seemed to burst on my face.

“Tell me?! What do you need to know? Tell me!” And finally he shouted in my face. I flinched badly in front of him, taking a step backward “Y-you y-you’re sh-shouting N-Noah…d-don’t shout a-at me” I was shattering on my own words because it was really breaking my heart. No one shouted at me rather than my mom in my life. After a few seconds it seemed like he was coming to his real senses as I was looking at his heavy breaths. I could really tell he was becoming calm, but I was about to have a panic attack.

I took my steps backwards slowly when I saw his slow movements.

“I- I’m sorry. I'm really sorry Amy…I-“ He was coming towards me slowly. “N-no, no d-don’t N-Noah. Don’t c-come to me” as in the next second I ran towards my room. “Amy wait. I'm sorry I’m really sorry. Hey no no no. wait please” I heard him after I closed the door on his face. He knocked on my door repeatedly when I was already looking inside my room. And that time I felt something wet on my face silently flowing down. Even though this wasn’t a deal to me but somewhere in my heart it really did hurt. I questioned myself as to where I received hurt, from whom, and because of why. But I was crying badly even without knowing the real reason.

Noah’s POV

I literally became an idiot to let out all my anger at her. It’s true that her behavior made me angry but not so much as to shout at her. I really couldn’t control myself from my anger. Even though I knocked on her door, she was silent to answer the door but I heard her sobbing. It broke me down as to what I did to her, why did I make her cry because of me. I kneeled down in front of her door drifting into my own thoughts.

“Sir, wake up. Please go to your room. You might catch a cold with this cold floor.” I woke to soft taps on my shoulder. I dozed off in front of her room as it was still closed. I looked at Ally. “Don’t worry Ally. D-did she?-“ I couldn’t say more, “No need Sir. I’ll take care of her. Please sleep in your room.” She kneeled down in front of me.

I didn’t know why out of nowhere she patted my shoulder while saying it. “I’m a rude person. Right? A-are you afraid of me too?” She stopped her pats and looked at me. “No you’re not. You’re a good person in your heart. Don’t overthink about anything. She’ll be alright. Okay?” I couldn’t get any word of her as they made me cry badly in front of her. Because she seriously sounded like my mother. I missed her a lot. I was craving her warmth.

“Oh my god. Shhh… shhh.. it’s alright. It’s alright. You’re a good person inside & out. You’re loved. Trust me okay?” She pulled me over for a hug out of nowhere. I know how sweet she is, also I’ve seen her and Amy’s secret friendship when I’m not around. She's almost like an elder sister to me by my age.

After a few seconds, her pats became soft and “Sir, are you alright now? Should I make tea for you?”. I nodded at her while looking down. “Okay then. I’ll heat up some water & will place it in your room. Now have a warm shower. Please don’t stay here, you’ll catch a cold” as she stood up. “Ally, Thank you so much” I played with my fingers still on the floor. “That’s fine, And no need of thanks sir. Now go to your room. I’ll take care of her. If you need anything please let me know okay?” She really sounded like my mother. Giving her slow nods, I stood up from where I was. The door is still closed & silent inside. Maybe she fell asleep. I thought about her while stepping towards my room.
