Capítulo 48: A longing heart

The atmosphere grew heavy with anticipation as Anna and Ethan locked eyes, the intensity of the moment palpable. A profound silence enveloped them, accentuating the gravity of the situation. 

Anna's heart raced, and a rush of warmth flooded her cheeks, turning them a deep shade of crimson. In a swift and almost instinctive motion, she retreated from Ethan, her hands instinctively rising to cover her blushing face, as if seeking solace and concealment.

"W-What are you saying?" Anna stammered, her voice barely above a whisper, laden with a mix of astonishment and vulnerability.

Meanwhile, Ethan alighted gracefully from the carriage, carefully massaging his recently treated arm. His gaze remained fixed on Anna, his expression a mixture of determination and sincerity. He took a step closer, closing the distance between them, and then began to speak.

"I said," Ethan paused momentarily, allowing his words to hang in the air, "I want you to be my wife."
