Capítulo 25: Chapter 25: Lies

I carefully inspected the newly repaired bike, which Spade fixed everything, and he even copied the bike's original color. I'm satisfied with his service.

"Do you like it, Alpha?" Spade asked me.

"Amazing! Good work, Spade," I replied, smiling at him as I ran my fingers over the body of the motor. "It looks like my bike is new again," I added.

"Of course, Alpha. I ensure our customer's satisfaction is guaranteed," he replied, still smiling.

"I told you, Alpha, isn't it? Their services are superb," Sphere said proudly.

I smiled at him too.

"Thanks for recommending him to me, Sphere," I replied to him and then turned to Spade. "Can I ride it?" I asked him eagerly.

"Yeah, sure, Alpha. That baby is ready," he said.

I rode on the motor, grabbed its handlebars, and inserted the key into the keyhole. I pressed the ignition switch, and the engine roared.

"She's good as new, Alpha. You can drive no matter how many miles you want," Spade said as I turned the handlebars and made the engine roar continuously.

I turned to Sphere.

"You can go back to the packhouse, Sphere. Tell Kaydon I'm going to the city, so you two watch the pack for me," I told him.

"But, Alpha, don't you want to rest? You're not feeling okay," he said worriedly.

"Don't worry about me. I have some important business to attend to. Get home safely, alright?" I said more and then patted his shoulder.

"Alright, Alpha. Be safe," he said before I maneuvered the big and drove away from that area after wearing the helmet on my head.

Stacey's main house is far from where she worked. It often takes me several hours to travel by car. She said she had an important matter to tell me, so I decided to use this baby. When in an average-speed vehicle, the travel usually takes six hours, and when I use this bike, it usually takes three or four hours before I arrive.

It was precisely afternoon when I got to Stacey's house. Her grandfather originally owned the house she inherited when the older man died. Stacey turned this house into her secret base. Here she stores all the confidential things she collects that people don't know about.

I met Stacey way back when I was healing myself. Her human mother was the first human who mated to one of my pack members. I was twenty back then and just had my alpha title. Just like Blanch, Stacey has a personality of being friendly. But she has unmeasurable curiosity. She's not satisfied with the result of something she's interested in. She always finds a way to dig in, just like the case in my family.

I knocked on the door of her house.

I waited a few seconds for her to open the door. But the few seconds turn to minutes. I knocked again and waited for Stacey to open it. But I heard no sound inside the house, considering I have a sharp sense of hearing.

I fished out my phone inside my pocket and dialed her number.

"Hi, this is Stacey. I'm busy with something, and I'm not picking up any calls now. Please leave a message!"

This is not her! Stacey would pick up my call the moment her phone rang.

"Stacey! Are you in there!?" I shouted.

But there was no answer, and all I could hear was silence.

Stacey's grandpa was not fond of having a neighbor, so he built this house away from others.

"Stacey! Do you hear me? I'm going to destroy your door if you're not going to answer me!" I shouted at her.

But it remained silent, and there was no answer at all. My instinct kicked in, and I kicked the door in one go. The door opened, and it was almost removed from its hinges. It barely holds.

I went inside and found the house cleaned. There was no trace of chaos inside, and no one seemed to be there. But there's something odd.

Stacey told me she was here and we would meet here. But why the hell is she not here? I sniff the air.

Nothing is unusual. There is just a scent of old books and some burning mac and cheese in the kitchen.

Wait! What?

Burnt?

I hurriedly went into the kitchen and saw that the food she was baking was on fire. But where is she?

I hurriedly turned off the oven and cook the mac and cheese out. The surface of the food is now black. It must have been a few hours when she baked it. I saw there were two mugs in the sink. I find it odd. Stacey doesn't accept guests in this house except her family and me. I know her family visited her this morning, and she was expecting me later. But why are there two cups in the sink even though I haven't arrived yet?

Then suddenly, a smell of blood hit my sensitive nose, and it came from her basement, her favorite place in the house. There she also kept her research papers and souvenirs of those she investigated. I quickly went there, and I saw everything scattered as if someone had raided it. In the middle of the dark part of the basement, I saw Stacey sprawled.

Fuck! Who the hell did this!

I hurriedly approached her.

"Damn it, Stacey!" I call as I lift her body out of the basement. I could hear her faint heartbeat. "Who did this to you !?" I asked while trying to heal his deep wounds. I could see the missing chunk of her flesh, and I could even see her insides from her deep wounds.

Fuck! Fuck!

If I take her to the hospital, I will have difficulty carrying her since I am riding a motorbike. If I run using my speed, people will wonder.

The situation's leaving me no choice.

"Ra-ven," Stacey whispered to me.

"Stay with me, Stacey!" I replied to her anxiously while stopping her blood flow from her wounds.

"B-bite m-me," she mumbled in difficulty. "H-hurry while there's s-still blood in my b-body," she said weakly.

"No! No! If I do that, you'll die!" I told her angrily. The emotions I was feeling were mixed, and I no longer knew what I should do.
