Abigail woke up early and went into the kitchen to cook. She was worried that he would plan to dine with Vivian again since he had canceled on her the day before. She didn't want to give him any chance.

With the help of the maid, she finished cooking quickly.

The clock read 8:00 am, and he was still sleeping.

Christopher, who had gotten ready by 8 a.m. to be at the office by 9 a.m., was still sleeping. 

Abigail wondered if he was too tired to wake up after returning late last night. Or was he not feeling well?

She worriedly went to check on him.

Christopher was still in bed, sleeping soundly. He didn't seem to realize it was time to go to work.

Abigail pushed the curtains aside, allowing sunlight in.

"Christopher," she called out.

He only winced and groaned and showed no signs of getting up.

"Are you not going to work?" she asked, taking a step toward the bed.

He made no movement.
