DAY 20
Phina got up to take care of a few small tasks because Sara wasn't there. She also made Patrick's lunch. After finishing, she used her phone while sitting in the living room.
Patrick woke up just before midafternoon. After a long nap, he felt calm. He went to bed in the afternoon because it had been so long, but he didn't regret it.
He found Phina in the living room, lying on the chair with her earpiece in her ear. He glanced at her phone and saw that she was having trouble using the screen since the touchpad had an issue. He gave a curt shake of his head and turned to go without making his presence known. He is still able to recall what transpired that evening. However, he won't bring that up.
He proceeded to the kitchen to get himself some food.
********
He observed Phina repeatedly tapping on a particular area of her screen and asked, "What kind of phone are you using?"
"A phone. An Android." She shrugged in response.
Patrick remarked angrily, "I don't think so. You should get something better."
Phina rolled her eyes and carried on with her work. It is not her fault. With his money, he may purchase everything he desires. Not everyone is wealthy, either.
She double-tapped the phone again, saying, "I've got something more important than that. At least I can still use it. That is what matters."
Patrick gave her an unbelievable look.
Patrick questioned, "I want to go out. Do you want to tag along?"
Phina said, "I don't feel like going to a club," without turning to face him. She vividly recalls the events of their most recent outing to a bar with his friends.
Patrick laughed. "Are you serious? Who goes clubbing during the day? It would help if you were out of this world. And I am not going to a club."
Phina stopped to consider what he had just said.
Sitting up, she said, "So where are we going?"
"Are you going or not?" he frowned and inquired.
Phina scowled. His patience could be better. This is grating at times.
Silently, she murmured, "I am. You need some chill pill."
"What?" inquired Patrick.
"Nothing," Phina said with a smile.
Patrick was gazing at her. He heard her words. He didn't pursue it, though.
As he scanned her physique with his eyes, he asked, "You are not going to go out with that, right?" She was wearing a blouse and faded jeans.
This guy and her clothes—what's up? Phina pondered.
She responded, getting up to go, "I will go and change."
Phina told herself as she ascended the stairs to her room, "That guy has bipolar disorder. He is nice one minute, and the next, he is angry and irritated."
Patrick pondered what had just transpired while sitting alone in the living room. He's trying to understand why he needs to take Phina out. There needs to be somewhere for him to go. He loves to go out with her; all he wants to do is leave the house. Maybe he's not the biggest fan of Phina. He does, however, enjoy taking her out with him, perhaps because she knows how to mind her business and keep quiet even when she is talkative, or maybe because she is so stylish.
Or the fact that she attracts attention due to her beauty. A whisper from his mind spoke to him.
He dismissed the idea with a shrug and used his phone to make some orders before heading upstairs to change into more appropriate attire.
He walked into his walk-in closet and considered what to wear. He doesn't get out much. He was accustomed to wearing suits and traditional clothing to social gatherings. He hadn't gone out with a woman for such a long time.
He saw a black sweater with the word Ricky embroidered on the back. It had been ages since he'd worn it. Will it suit him still, he wondered. However, it was huge for him when he bought it.
He bought it with Raya and Phil. After getting their name customized on the back, they wore it out on a group date. Raya broke up with him shortly after, so he didn't wear it afterwards.
Raya is my past. To himself, he murmured. I've let her go from my life. To himself, he said.
He chose the shirt and tight pants he never wears and exited the closet.
He scowled as he climbed down, realizing Phina wasn't in the living room. He pondered why women seem to be so slow in everything. The same thing occurs when he goes out with his mother and grandmother. Additionally, Lily.
Why did he constantly think about his former partners? He pondered.
Phina isn't his romantic partner. She is nothing more than a transaction. She also won't harm him. She is powerless to cause him harm. He tells himself that over and over. Furthermore, it was unnecessary to compare her with the others.
As he continued to consider it, he heard footsteps getting closer. And then Phina's voice boomed through.
He turned around as she said, "Sorry. I'm here." The word caught in his mouth as he was ready to mention her being late.
She was dressed in a grey sweatshirt that seemed too large on her and featured a phrase over the top that represented her breast: "BEA." Additionally, the blouse ended just below her upper abdomen. Skin peeked out from under the sweatshirt, especially when she moved. Additionally, she had the same-colored sweatpants below white sneakers. Four braids, two on each side, fell from her tightly packed hair and framed her face.
With her enhanced brows and baby-pink lipstick, she looked stunning and seductive.
She was beautiful, a damsel even. She can turn heads with her attire.
She smiled like a child and said, "Wow! You are also wearing a sweatshirt." that made Patrick laugh.
She can act quite adult at times and childlike at others. Furthermore, he consistently looks perplexed by her true identity.
She looked at his entire appearance and remarked, "You look different." "And your sneaker is... Super nice."
Phina loved and appreciated the attractive man in front of her in secret. He wasn't dressed in his trademark suit. Wearing black sneakers with white heels, he paired his fitting white pants with a black sweater. However, the footwear was different from hers. His was enormous and unique. It must have been costly.
He answered, "So is yours." He looked away and said, "Can we go now?" He doesn't want to appear foolish by staring at her.
She nodded and grinned. "Yes." He then showed her the way to his garage, which he opened with a remote, and the kitchen, which was at the back of the home.
Surprised, Phina opened her mouth. She had never entered his car garage but always came to the back of the house. All she knew was that before he left for work, his cars were brought to the front of the house.
They entered the well-lit garage, which seemed more significant than her father's home.
She stopped in confusion when she noticed that the cars were parked in two rows, facing each other, with a walkway in the middle of them.
She had never seen cars like these in her life. Additionally, the cars stored in the garage are popular brands.
Does one man own all these cars? She questioned herself. But it was beyond her belief.
"Phina," a frustrated Patrick called.
She looked up at him.
She inquired, "Does your company deal with cars?"
"No."
"Do you sell cars?"
"No." His anger was growing.
Confused, she questioned, "So you... You own all these cars?" "That is Ferrari. That is the latest Lexus car. Do you seriously own all this?"
Patrick yelled, "Phina gets into the car," without responding to her query.
She approached the sports car he was preparing to remove with deliberate slowness. She had never seen the type of tire on the glossy, black car, and she was curious about the brand and price of the car that he had purchased.
Why would someone spend cash on such vehicles? She can't shake the questions from her mind.
Phina questioned him once more as she sat beside him in front of the vehicle, "Do you own all these cars?"
His eyebrows wrinkled as he said, "Will there be in my garage if it was someone else?" He said, "Use the seat belt." and pressed a button to start the vehicle.
The car's interior was spectacular. She got her phone so she could snap photos. She must demonstrate this to her friends and brother. She cannot allow a moment like that to pass by.
However, she is not fond of her phone's camera and grimaces. It was one of those moments when she wished she had a better phone.
Patrick saw that Phina stared at her phone every time she took a selfie. He was aware of how bad the phone camera was.
He tossed his iPhone against her thigh after picking it up.
Then he drove out of the compound, saying, "Use that."
The fact that he gave Phina his phone astonished her. She was appreciative at the same time.
She was grateful, but he said nothing. "Thanks." It didn't appear to bother her. She is aware of his personality. She picked up the phone. She handed it to him, saying, "Here. Your password."
Patrick shot her a frustrated glance.
She apologized, saying, "I forgot you were driving." Seeing the disappointment on her face, he felt intense sorrow for his actions. He said this as she put down the phone and turned it off.
"2 0 2 0," he murmured.
She raised her gaze to his. His gaze was fixed on the road as he spoke, not meeting her gaze. "It's 2020."
With gratitude, she nodded and snapped the photos she wanted while he drove.
The vehicle came to a stop in front of Burger King. She had never been there before, but her brother and she had long desired to visit that place. Every time Avery and Mia have a new boyfriend they want to spend their money on, they come here. She also wishes to spend a day with her siblings and father.
However, she needs more funds to buy the meals and the transportation ticket.
Together, they got out of the car and went inside the premises. Phina saw several pairs of eyes watching them. The majority of the women were staring at Patrick. She also experienced some jealousy.
