Capítulo 61: Slow preparation

A few days after the ceremony…

It was evening. Aren arrived at Elion's office in response to his summons. The moment he stepped into the room, he asked:

"What happened? Why did you call me?"

Elion sat silently at his desk. As Aren entered and stood before him, Elion wasted no time.

"I need to warn you," he said, locking eyes with Aren. "You're going to start targeting the Genetic Control Office, aren't you?"

Aren paused for a brief moment, then replied calmly. "Yes, I am."

Elion's expression grew more serious. "Then be careful. Don't get caught. If you're captured, I'll be dragged into this mess too."

Aren remained silent for a few seconds. Without breaking eye contact, he spoke clearly. "I won't get caught."

Elion's demeanor shifted instantly. His gaze hardened, and his voice grew colder. "If you do," he said, emphasizing each word heavily, "kill yourself."
