Capítulo 412: THE BEATING HEART

After Cane sorted out a few things and settled Alpha Dristan, Sir Elijah and their men, he went to the bedroom and found Iris already fast asleep. She curled herself on the edge of the bed, while her auburn hair scattered on the pillow.

Cane approached her and kissed her forehead, as he shifted her to the middle of the bed, worried she might fall if she slept too close to the edge.

After that, he cleaned himself and went to bed with her.

He pulled her closer to him and buried his face in the crook of her shoulder, breathing in her scent, as Iris let out a small whining voice, while still asleep.

Only then, Cane felt at peace and he could get the rest he needed.

In the morning, Cane was woken up by an unfamiliar smell, as he felt someone enter the bedroom. Thinking it must be one of the maids, who brought breakfast, he didn't think much of it.
