Shocked, she turned and noticed a silhouette of a man.
"Father," Angeline called as she ran over to him. "You came back?" She hugged him tight, so tight in a way to ease her burden.
"What happened, why did you come back by this time?" Angeline asked trying to ease her anger and hide the tears on her face so that he wouldn't notice it.
"Our trading has been cancelled. The master said the King wants to give everybody some break." Her father responded and stared at her face. "Why are you all alone again?"
Angeline remained silent for a moment. Before she could answer, her father interrupted noticing the dog with her. "I can see you've made friends with your new pet." He pointed at the dog.
Angeline smiled, "Were you the one who built the house for her?"
"Your sister told me you wanted to build a house for it but was distracted by something."
Angeline smiled happy about how thoughtful her sister could be.
