25.24% The Alpha's Slut Mate / Chapter 25: Promise

Capítulo 25: Promise

Back in the underground pack house.

"Noah, slow down." Becky tried to reach out to Noah as he continued in his long stride steps.

"Oh sorry," Noah slowed down a bit.

"I can see you're too excited."

"Yes, I can't wait for the surgery to be successful. I want him to be healed quickly."

"Sure, he will..." Becky suddenly halted seeing the man in the room where Noah's father was kept.

"What? Why did you stop?" Noah turned to Becky.

"Um, go ahead now. I don't think my presence is needed here." Becky almost said nervously.

"Your presence is absolutely needed. If Father feels people around him, it will make him heal faster."

"Um, but I need to get some rest. I will go to the other room."

"Okay if you insist."

Becky nodded and Noah watched her leave hurriedly.

"Doctor Leo, how is my father?" Noah asked immediately he walked into the room.

"Noah," Doctor Leo turned swiftly and faced him.

"How is it going?"

"Everything is ready, it's left for you to sign the papers, but first of all, let me introduce to you, Doctor Peters. He is the founder of Mucho health service. I'm sure you know the Mucho hospital down the city of Papas."

"Yes, I remember the Mucho hospital because of its popularity but I never knew it is our kind who owns it," Noah said and stretched his hand towards Doctor Peters.

Doctor Peters took his hand and said, "Nice to meet you in person. My colleague here has told me a lot about you."

Noah took a peek at Doctor Leo. "Is that so? I wonder what was said about me." Noah's statement brought a sudden silence in the room.

"It's pleasant I assure you. But as an honest man who deals honestly which had earned me my ego, I would say some of the things are not pleasant too." Doctor Peters stated it as a matter of fact and Doctor Leo got the reward for this statement by receiving a stain glare from Noah.

The 'I will deal with you later' glare was enough to make the doctor try to defend himself. "Yes, some are pleasant and some are not, that is how human life is. We have our good and bad, which make us the unique person we are."

"Wow, I never knew that Doctor Leo is not only a Doctor but also a motivational speaker too," Noah smirked and gave a hard chuckle. "Every time we discover new unique things in us and these things will guide us to know the friends we keep; the friends who have a loose tongue that needs to be kept at a distance away from us," Noah responded to Doctor Leo's defence sarcastically. "Don't you think I bit you to motivational speaking?" Noah cast a strong glare layered with a smirk on Doctor Leo.

Doctor Peters barely stopped himself from laughing. "That's one of the unpleasant things he said about you. You have a more domineering aura than your father." He finally allowed himself to laugh which made Noah seem lost as Doctor Leo had already sold his reputation and he was now struggling to buy it back.

Before he could speak again, Doctor Peters bit him to it still having a hint of laughter in his voice "And the most unpleasant part of it is that you asked Doctor Leo to leave your room while you were kissing your woman. Hahaha!"

'Reputation sold completely! The owner can't buy it back.' Noah thought inwardly and made a slight cough to cover up the awkward feeling of embarrassment he had.

"Can I sign the p—papers now?" He immediately changed the topic but it didn't look like Peters was done with his sarcastic laughter. Despite Noah being the Alpha's son and the prominent person here, it seemed he lost his superiority aura in the hands of Peters and he felt like he didn't have the right to unleash his anger if he had any now.

"Are we signing the papers or not? You know he doesn't have much time left and..." Noah was trying his best not to squirm under Doctor Peters's laughter.

"Yes, yes. Let's proceed with the papers." But... Doctor Peters was still grinning from ear to ear.

Doctor Leo brought out the file containing the statement about Alpha Maverick's health and the implications of the surgery. Noah took the pen, nodding his head in agreement to all of it, he signed in the provided space.

Doctor Leo and Peters also signed in their space.

"Get the stamp, Leo." Doc Peters said.

"Sure," Leo brought the two stamps that had hospital logos on them. One was the logo of Doctor Leo's hospital and the other was Peters's.

Leo's stamp clicked on the papers and Noah read it in his mind. 'Doctor Leo. Thalye hospital.'

Done, Peters took over. Noah also read Doctor Peters in his mind. 'Doctor Peters, founder of Mucho Hospital.' The other letters were tiny and he suddenly squinted his eyes to read it but Doctor Peters had already removed the paper and placed it back into the bag.

Suddenly Noah felt the need to take a scrutinizing look at the papers. "Can I see the papers again?"

"Why?" Doctor Peters blurted.

Noah suddenly got annoyed by him questioning him. He cast an arrogant glare at him.

"Sure, here are the papers. You can read through all letters if you wish." Again his statement didn't sound like he was the inferior here or was affected by his glare.

Noah felt disgusted at Doctor Peter's proudness and he knew he had no respect for him because he was the son of the weak, poor Alpha. He took the documents roughly from his hand and went straight to the point he wanted to read.

'Doctor Peters, founder of Mucho Hospital.' He paid attention to the tiny words again. 'Alpha White Blood Pack' This logo of werewolf Doctors were only used when a werewolf is treating his kind. Noah's eyes widened and his eyes struck Doctor Peters. "U—uncle is that you?!"

"Noah," Peters called and laughed hysterically.

"Why didn't you tell me it was you? How could you keep that from me?" Noah couldn't help his excitement that he enveloped him in a hug.

"I wanted you to find out yourself. I thought you would recognize me at first. Hahaha!"

"It has been years uncle, I was just a kid then you know."

"Yes, you're right. You have grown into a man now, I can't help but notice." Peters ogled his body as if he was finding a trait of a grown man in him. As if he found one, he nodded to himself. "Yes, you are a man now!" Doctor Peters added which prompted Noah to laugh his heart out.

"Noah, I'm sure you're not going to be like your father." Peters suddenly blurted which made Noah's brow knot in a tight frown. Even though his father was well known to be a weak Alpha, he hated it like hell when someone throws the fact on his face. But it seemed the Alpha doesn't care about his disapproving expression. He continued in his speech.

"Don't give me that look, Noah, we all know that your father is..."

"Since we all know that, there is no need to remind us about it. I'm quite aware of it." Noah said between teeth gritted inwardly which he did well to hide.

A cold smile appeared on Peters's face and he said, "It's a good thing you know and I hope you don't want to take his steps?"

Noah was cut off guard with this question and the only thing that flowed in his mind was the question. He saw himself being afraid of the obvious fact that he might take his father's step. He might be weaker than his father if care was not taken.

"Don't bother yourself with my silly talks, what's important now is to save the life of your father. I and Leo will make sure your father will survive."

"I'm still grateful for all you did for him in the past. I didn't have the chance to thank you properly when I was a child, now I want to use this opportunity and say a proper thank you."

"You are welcome, Noah but you know very well that you have to do better than your father. I might not be there in future to help out in a time of need, so you have to learn how to make your pack capable again."

"Yes, uncle," Noah said hushing, like the room had suddenly engulfed in anxiety. I will not fail you." He said like he vowed his life on it.
