3:30 pm Four ladies could be seen in the company of A, their mouths moving faster than their fingers on their laptops where they were supposed to focus on work and stop gossiping about the life of the celebrities.
Among these four was Stessy who would always smirk and scoff disagreeing with the argument on hand, her eyes were fixed on her laptop and her ears partly on the three other ladies who couldn't stop chattering, giggling and were engrossed ogling at the pictures on their phones.
And who other celebrity would these ladies gossip about if not the seven famous top celebrities 'BTS'?
Fed up Stessy turned to the first lady "Hey, Clara, I can't believe you all would leave so much work here to talk about what won't benefit us, those boys won't add to your wages by the end of the month. So, can you all focus and work?!"
Jane was the first to retort, "Arrogant! So arrogant!"
"Since this girl met her mate she now acts like we don't exist, like she's now one of the top celebrities. Last I could remember, Stessy you were always the first that would always leave your work and gossip about boys. Now you're a saint." That was the voice of Stephanie the third lady.
"You Stessy, don't think that you're now higher than us because you have met your mate and followed that girl Becky. Allow us that have not met ours and don't have rich friends to make ourselves happy, please." Gladys scoffed, her tone was no less than arrogant, even sounding more fierce than Jane's.
"Meeting him didn't make me lose focus on work. If you three meet yours what then will happen? That would be the end of the company huh? I was just trying to make you guys understand..."
"Whatever, Stessy." Stephanie cut her short and watched as their gossip now turned out to be about her.
Stessy shook her head and decided to focus on work. Ever since she met her mate, Elvis, her friends had cut ties with her only because her mate was from the pack they knew as 'weak.' But that was not her problem, as long as she and her mate love each other, nothing else matters.
"That reminds me Stessy, we have a party to attend tonight at Will Hotel, we were hoping you would come with us," Jane said with a fake smile.
About to answer them, Stessy's phone rang. "Hold on let me get this," Stessy said, feeling the need to get out and answer her call.
"Take your time Stessy, Your call is always a secret when it's him calling. Work won't be important anymore, but when it's us, work will be very important." Jane's words left the other ladies laughing scornfully at Stessy.
Stessy ignored them and took some steps out. "Hello Elvis," Her voice came immediately after she picked up her call.
"Stessy where are you?" Elvis's voice sounded curious.
"I—I am at the office, is everything okay?" Stessy felt anxious too.
"No, it's not, it's about Noah, he..." Elvis stopped talking immediately when he saw Doctor Peters coming towards him.
"What about Noah?" Stessy's anxiety rose.
"Please go straight home when you are done with work. Please listen and do as I say, don't let anything distract you. I will explain things later."
Before Stessy could respond, Elvis had cut the call from his end. Still confused, Stessy took a glance at the ladies who were waiting for her response. Now saying no to their request would only create more hatred towards her.
"Um... I don't think I would be able to make out with you guys." Stessy responded.
"Yes, because he told you not to, we heard it all."
Yes, that's right, she didn't retrain them from listening to her call. They were werewolves, why does she always forget?
"Take your time with him and forget about your friends. We don't need you anyway. Right girls?"
"That's right." The others responded looking at her like she was now some piece of thrash in their midst.
Stessy was still trying to calm down when another call came and that was Becky calling.
Picking her call, Becky's voice was as curious as Elvis
"Hello, Becky are you okay?"
"No, I'm not, please I need you. I can't take it, it hurts Stessy. Please I need a friend to talk to."
"What is wrong? What happened?"
"It's about Noah."
"What about Noah?" Stessy asked, only to see the manager coming from the end. "Hello, hold on best friend, I will call you later. The manager is here, I need to get back to work." Stessy cut the call immediately. She could feel her body quiver. Remembering Elvis's call about Noah and now Becky called her about the same person, she couldn't wait for work to end and when it did, she forgot about Elvis's warning and headed to Becky's house.
★====★
Sitting in her room and crying her heart out was not helping at all. Without knowing what was happening to her, her heart was occupied with jealousy.
The evidence they had given her was strong and what she had seen in Noah was enough to make her believe in every word that they had said.
For a moment all she could do was stare at Noah's pictures in her hand, and the memory of the lovely times she had spent with him kept flashing back.
She knew that not for once had Noah lied to her. But she couldn't believe him since this involved mate and him telling her it was a secret proved it all. Looking at the things happening around her now, she knew she needed to get out of her own trust thinking before it was too late.
She coughed, trying so hard to ease the pain in her heart. It hurt so much that she suddenly needed to get water. Checking the small refrigerator in her room, funny enough she had finished the last drop in the cup before she headed to Noah's pack yesterday.
"F*ck it all!" Becky slammed the refrigerator shut. "No, no this can't happen to me! I trusted you, Noah. I gave you my all, you can't do this to me!" Becky choked in her tears.
Since she returned, she had been avoiding the kitchen since her mother's hypocritical friends were chattering in there.
But the pain, and burn suddenly set her head ablaze. At least a drop of water would ease the pain she felt.
Standing up, she headed towards the kitchen, but her legs froze the moment she reached the door of the kitchen. What her mother and her hypocrite friends talked about her almost made her shift.
"Ever since I know that daughter of yours Mrs Alcanthara, she had been stalking that boy they call Noah. Isn't she ashamed of herself? Other girls her age are settled with their new family. I can't believe despite all she still trusts that boy." Mrs Felicia, a woman in her forties was the one speaking.
"I totally agree with what she said, Mrs Alcanthara. Becky is not getting any younger. At her age, she's still foolish to believe that the boy wants her. Shouldn't it be obvious that that boy is only using her to get what he wants? I mean who stays in a relationship for more than a decade when they're not seeing anything coming out of it?
That Noah won't stop until she has taken away from her all the inheritance her father left your daughter. Everyone knows how he is struggling to get his pack strong again, I'm sure he would continue until he had gotten all he wants and he would definitely dump her."
"Oh, Mrs. Anthony, do you think I have not been trying to make my daughter understand all these? I have but that girl..." She shook her head and the next thing Becky heard from her mother finally made her anger burst.
"It's so unfortunate that I have a dump and stupid daughter. I don't know what to say to make her stop..."
"You are the stupid head mother!" Becky yelled from the doorway.
Felicia almost fell from the spot she stood. Mrs Anthony held onto the table beside her and Becky's mother, though they were too engrossed in their chatter that she didn't sense her daughter's presence, she didn't flinch at all from her daughter's roar.
"You mother!" Becky pointed angrily at her mother. "When will you ever stop hating your daughter?!"
"Until you have gotten rid of that boy in your mind!"
"Oh is that it, Fine," Becky said in a deep growl. Next, she grabbed the plate on the kitchen table sending it straight at the face of Felicia. Luckily, the woman was quick to dodge it before it could destroy her face.
"Mrs Alcanthara your daughter!"
"Becky that was a 10 thousand dollar plate you broke!" Becky's mother yelled.
"I don't care!" "Mother, I will make sure..."
"Oh my goodness! Becky what are you doing?!" Stessy's voice rang out. Luckily she arrived at the time her friend almost ran mad.
"Mrs Alcanthara, don't worry I will talk to your daughter." Stessy pleaded dragging Becky towards her room.
"You better speak some sense into her, she must apologize to these women she assaulted!"
"You mother..." Becky continued to point at her mother.
"Becky, that's enough now. Let's get out of here before you do worse things." Stessy pulled Becky further as the woman watched them disappear.
" I almost had a heart attack," Felicia said as she heaved.
"Avoid that girl, she might end up killing you." Mrs Mark urged like she had never said a word about Becky.
Mrs Alcanthara's rage was overboard.
====
"Here take this. Calm down okay." Stessy gave Becky water to drink a minute later after successfully pulling her back to her room.
"You shouldn't have done that earlier." Stessy reprimanded Becky.
"They pushed me! All of them, they are fucken hypocrites!" Becky threw the cup out of her hand! "And that Noah, I will make him pay for this!"
"Yes, Becky you should. Don't let Noah and his mate deceive you anymore." Out of nowhere, Sadie's voice could be heard from the doorway of Becky's room.
"How did you get in here?!" Becky stood and glared at the woman in front of her.
"Have you forgotten, I'm also a witch too? I can get into wherever I won't with a spell werewolves can't detect. I followed you here in case you need help."
"Fine, what you said is the truth, are you here too to tell me how much I'm a foolish woman all these years?!"
"Don't worry I'm here to help you so don't get mad."
"What help do you think you can offer me."
"I'm here to help you get rid of his mate. I will teach you how to do that without anyone noticing that." Sadie spoke in a calm convincing tone.
Sadie is here again \(°o°)/ I wonder the next thing she would tell Becky. I'm so afraid for Joseline.(╯︵╰,)
