Capítulo 17: I need your help
Ye Fanfan never expected to hear something like that from her daughter. Her words almost brought her to tears.
Was she really a good mother?
She looked down, she was trying her best not to cry.
No, she wasn't. She was not a good mother. She was a mother who couldn't even protect her own child. She couldn't give her the life that she wanted until the end.
"Is that tears I see?" Ye Shuxin teased.
"Shut up." Her mother quickly wiped the tear that formed on the side of her eyes before she looked at her with a slight glare.
Ye Shuxin chuckled, "Anyway, I should go back and work. My manager will complain if I stay here any longer."
She stood up and smiled at her, "I'm honestly happy to see you here. You should visit me next time during my day off. Also, message me first."
"Wait." Her mother said, stopping her.
"Here." She pulled out a card from her bag. "You can use the money on this card so you don't need to work."
Ye Shuxin was a bit surprised, not expecting that her mother would offer something like that.
"Well?" Ye Fanfan was still holding the card, offering it to her.
Ye Shuxin's lips curled up into a smile, "I appreciate it a lot, mom. But... I'm not going to accept it."
She raised a brow at her daughter. "Aren't you badly in need of money?"
"Yeah, but I have already found a way on how to earn. And I don't mind working here. The cafe is nice and the workers as well. Just pay for my tuitions."
She may be in need of money but she was not that desperate. Yes, she may have so many things that she wanted to have but those things were not important. She didn't want to use her mother's money for those useless things. She was earning enough money for her daily needs so it wasn't really necessary to use her mother's money.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. I only want to be spoiled by a rich man and not by my mother." She winked at her before she left Ye Fanfan there to continue her work.
Ye Fanfan stared at her, smiling a bit. "I wonder if she'll say the same thing if it's her..."

One week passed.
Ye Shuxin never heard anything from Jin Mingze ever since she left. He hasn't even contacted her about their divorce.
Did he forget her?
It was not like she was in a hurry to divorce him so she didn't mind waiting. She knew that he was also a busy person himself.
How about she asked him for money before she would sign their divorce papers?
She still wanted to use their divorce as an advantage against him. She was thinking of ways on how to exert money from him while she was in the middle of changing her clothes.
Her shift has already ended and she was currently taking off her waitress uniform inside the women's dressing room.
While she was in the middle of changing her clothes, her phone started ringing.
She looked at the caller ID and saw that it was a call from an unknown number.
Ye Shuxin struggled for a short while whether to answer the call or not. She would usually ignore calls coming from unknown numbers. She would wait for them to message her instead to tell them who they were.
For some reason, she finally decided to answer it since her guts were telling her to do so.
"Hello?"
"Ye Shuxin."
Ah... that baritone voice was so familiar. It was low, with an agreeable trace of huskiness and with a hint of power. It was the kind of voice that she would never forget. She has always been waiting for him to contact her first.
Was he finally going to ask her to sign the divorce papers?
"Oh look who decided to finally call."
"Where are you?"
"Why are you asking?"
It was quiet on Jin Mingze's side. It was as if he was contemplating something.
"Mr. Jin."
A sigh was heard on his side, "I... need your help."
Huh?
"It's about my daughter."
"Yanyan?" She suddenly felt anxious since his tone suddenly didn't sound right.
"Yes. She's... throwing a tantrum. She won't eat until she sees you."
"Eh?"
"She hasn't eaten since lunch. I really need your help right now."
Ye Shuxin could tell how worried he was. It must have been hard for him to call her and ask for her help.
"Okay. I'll go." She didn't want to play around since the situation seemed serious.
She has only known Yanyan for two days and yet, in her heart, she got easily attached to her. She herself didn't know what was wrong with her but she just couldn't stay still when she thought about Yanyan.
"Tell me where you are, I'll pick you up." He said on the other line.
