Capítulo 12: I don't want my sister to die

Back at the cave…

"My Lord," The other two men chorused, folded their hands behind their backs, and bowed their heads in reverence when the white-haired guy started coming back towards them after Miranda had run away.

"Welcome back." The brown-haired one added, lifting his head slightly.

"It's good to see you again, My Lord. It feels like an eternity has passed since the last time I saw your face." The black-haired one chipped in, earning himself a side glance from the one his greetings were directed to.

But the attention he received didn't stop at a side glance. The white-haired guy suddenly appeared before him, and before he knew what was happening, his head was bent sideways and two fangs sank into his neck.

This elicited a deep groan from him which echoed around the cave, catching the attention of the brown-haired guy, who was still bowing.

Despite the pained groans he was releasing, he didn't make any attempt to fight the one sucking from him, and neither did he move his hands from behind his back.

"My Lord, there isn't any life form in this forest. Kaz will fall into a deep slumber if you drain him." The brown-haired guy intervened, seeing how seconds seemed to be ticking by without any sign of the blood-sucking stopping.

His timely intervention yielded a positive result because moments after his words ceased, the sucking stopped and his Lord pulled away from Kaz.

However, a second later, he appeared before the one who just spoke, and meted out the same treatment to him as he did the other.

Kaz, whose hand automatically flew to his neck the moment he was released, staggered back and forth, trying to find balance and normalize his breathing so as not to pass out. His eyes changed to a shade of gray before returning to their original black-as-night color.

When he regained stability, he watched how Simeon tried to stay still while blood was being extracted from his neck. The sight and act were not an unusual one for them. In fact, they considered it an honor when they could be of service to their Lord. However, the situation at that time was different than normal.

"It is an honor to be of service to you, Lord Luviel," Kaz uttered, bowing once more. By the time he lifted himself, Luviel released Simeon from his grip, pulling his fangs out of his skin.

Just as he did that and licked his lips to catch any drop of blood lying there, his eyes instantly went from the color of burning coals to deep black, just like those of Kaz and Simeon.

His dull white hair regained life and shimmered while he stretched his neck and whole body, eliciting crack sounds from his joints. The color of his skin went from pale to slightly normal. By the time he was done with all the stretching, he looked to Kaz and Simeon a little like his normal self. Just a little more blood into his system and he would regain the allure of his former beauty.

"It is an honor to be of service to you, Lord Luviel." Simeon bowed just like Kaz had initially done.

"What was that you were saying about a lack of life form?" Luviel probed, looking intently at Simeon. He was thankful the guy had said something before he could drain Kaz of blood since that was his original intention due to how badly he needed the blood.

"My lord, we have been awake for many days and have surveyed the forest. From our findings, we are trapped somewhere inside the Forest of Angels, and there isn't any other life form in this part of the forest with blood apart from the fishes in the River of Angels which flows through this part of the forest. Also, we are enveloped in a huge circle with no way out or in. We've been surviving on the energy we had before we were buried here." Simeon gave the breakdown of his findings.

"How long have you been awake?" Luviel asked, noticing how their graves weren't sealed like his, also taking note of the torn, muddy, and bloody white shirt he had on, a reminder of what happened the day he lost everything, including his mind.

"We lost track of time, My Lord," Simeon answered with an apologetic tone.

"If you say there is no way out or in, how did she get here?" Luviel threw one more question, this time alternating his gaze between Simeon and Kaz.

"I have no idea. I am just as confused. I heard a thud that compelled me to wake up. And when I did, I found her lying right there at the entrance, trying to get up." Simeon answered for himself.

Luviel moved his gaze to Kaz, who nodded his head severally in agreement.

"Same with me, My lord. I woke up to find her here." He added to support his gesture.

Hearing their answers. Luviel started moving, without a word, back to his burial chamber, surprising Kaz and Simeon.

"My lord, what about her?" Kaz probed before Luviel could get to his destination.

"She should return to wherever she came from. I told her not to come back. I wonder why she is so stubborn. The farther away from me she is, the better for her." Luviel answered.

"But my lord, she is your—"

"Kill it, Kaz." Luviel cut Kaz off, climbed back into the chamber, and lay down, going out of sight.

Confused and worried, Kaz shifted his gaze to Simeon, whose expression wasn't much different from his.

"What are we going to do?" Kaz probed and Simeon shook his head.

"I don't know." He responded, taking his hand off his neck when he felt his wound had already healed.

"She is human. She will not survive out there all by herself. We should go find her." Kaz suggested, but Simeon didn't look like he was digesting the suggestion very well.

Glancing at Luviel's chamber, he let out a sigh. "No need. She will still end up here no matter how far she goes unless she has the ability to pass through the barrier unhindered, which I doubt."

"What if she does have the ability? She will be found and killed again. I don't want my sister to die again." Kaz cried out.
