He didn't know how the dandelion came to form but must have been as a result of something that evolved to survive the explosion and the rest of the monsters.

The dragon's attack didn't even reach it and they have zero resistance to dandelions.

As for the plant, they are smarter and have a better sense of evolution. The small living roots didn't take control but merged with the others, one of the plants then evolved a trait that can tame the dandelion.

They transformed into a weak flower with four petals. It can be stumped on and passed without knowing, nevertheless, it was the only possible counter to the dandelion.

It wasn't even a counter but rather a symbiote compatible. The flower has things the dandelion wants and the plant gets to grow as well as they merge.
