I rushed to my mother sprawled on the ground and lifted her trying to console her. The rest of the people in the hall were frozen and looked around dazedly. It was a clear indication that they were as shocked as I was… even though his defence for Selene was unexpected it was his going against grandfather that left me speechless.

My eyes travelled to where my grandfather was sitting regally, his expression as calm as the stream. It was difficult for me to know if he was angry with Noah or not. The pack elders and officials all clustered in front of him, I could see worry on their faces as they waited for my grandfather to say something.

But after a while, he simply rose to his feet and started towards the door.
