Capítulo 12: Entry 12: Thief [4]
Currently I was in Nadi's room resting in her bed so that I could heal up enough energy
It doesn't matter if I was motivated enough the previous fight still hurted me alot and I can't move properly. Urgh it hurts even if I do a little movement.
First of all, there were bruises all over my body and I was wearing bandages over my waist region and my head. It seemed I took a heavy injury but I can't lie down.
I tried to get up from my bed only to meet a huge amount of pain emitting from my body.
It felt like if I walked from here to my house in this state...I would reach heaven before I could reach my house, Urgh...
And so I had a brilliant idea, I can use my magic to help me travel. And so I picked up 2 rods kept on the table and used my magic to help me connect with it so I can atleast walk on some level.
It was tough walking like that, in any moment I felt like I would collapse. If Nadi found out that I escaped her house she would definitely kill me....and so with all my struggle I managed to reach my house.
First thing I did was ate an energy pill that I made for myself in case of emergencies..I lean backwards to the wall huffing heavily.
Getting some of my energy back I went upstairs picking up some food from my kitchen for Tama.
Tama greeted me with his usual "Kyuu" and for some reason he tried to headbutt me on my stomach
....somehow I barely dodged that and caught him.
Tama seemed to be a bit agitated for some reason and I can't afford to get hurt at all so unfortunately, I had to hit him on his neck to put him to sleep. Big mistake, it didn't worked and I got chopped instead.
Few minutes later, Tama managed to calm down and went back to sleep.
Looking at my injuries, I could clearly tell I was in no shape to fight. Even if I wanted my revenge I will not be able to put up a fight and it would be just a repetition of what happened previously....
But I still want to hit them once tho....
Well what can a injured and weak person like me do to some thieves?
Exactly! Nothing!!
Man I am feeling so embarrassed I even said that I will beat that thief out loud!
At the same time I heard someone knocking my front door.
Already annoyed mustered up my strength to answer the front door.
That was a mistake, because it was devil incarnation in front!
"YOU!!Where the hell did you think you disappeared to!!"
It was none other than Nadi.
I was pushed back on the wall and struggled to answer.
"Wa-wait! Calm down-!"
"Calm down! After you ran away without even saying goodbye and leaving in those injuries?!"
Yeah she was really mad.....
"If you run away from my house ever again, I will make sure you never open your windows to your room again!"
I shuddered in fear by her words because she would actually do it and make my life hell! I already have enough memories of her bullying me!
"Alright alright I won't run away and take care of my body. By the way what happened to your said plan?"
Nadi was stunned for a moment and waited for ten seconds before replying.
"Yeah the plan already failed before we even started to implement it."
"Failed how come-"
"It was simply rejected." Nadi said simply.
I was stunned for a moment before asking and selecting my words carefully,
"Why was your plan rejected, what was your plan in the first place?"
Hearing that, Nadi replied, " My plan was simply to lure them to the center square and fight all three of them with all of us combined. Ofcourse the second phase was to divide them and then kill them of seperately."
I was stunned for a moment...
Yeah I definitely expected a divide we rule plan but why was it even rejected? I have some answers but I will ask it instead....
"You think it's a brilliant plan right?" Nadi pressed me to answer.
"Ye-Yeah it is a good plan. Did chief told you why this plan was rejected?"
Nadi looked at me for a few seconds before answering, "That old man said it's too costly and way to risky of a plan to make all other people suffer more injuries in this plan. Like doesn't that old man realise it's too late to worry about injuries?
We have already been robbed! We are facing various injuries! And worse we can't even do anything!! I can't tell if we are playing them or are they playing us!!"
I heard Nadi's ranting about our current situation and I agreed with her. I could even sympathize with the chief. Yeah we are suffering losses but we can't afford to lose even more.
Now that I wonder, why haven't the thieves already left? What else are they looking for? Are they looking for a particular item or they can't afford to run away yet?
"Anyways enough about that. You better rest now. I have brought you some food so that you don't have to make your awful dinner. You better rest now."
My mouth and eyes twitched after hearing her.
Is she showing kindness or is she beating up a dead horse even further?
Nadi handed me a basket where I could smell a good dish and headed towards the front door.
Before leaving, she turned her head and said, "I am going to check on other townsfolk. You better not get out of this house or else!!"
And with slamming the door loudly, she left.
....Yeah I better not get out of house right now

Outside Gale's house, Nadi was wondering how she would be able to catch the thieves. Before coming to this town, she used to be a adventurer and travel across the continent taking all the experience with her.
But for the first time, she couldn't tell what those thieves were even thinking.
As she was walking she encountered another person who was coming from town hall.
It was Frisa, her new neighbour!
She seemed to be carrying a bag around her back and going somewhere and there she made an eye contact with Nadi.
"Where are you going?" Nadi asked rather coldly.
"Oh-ah, Miss Nadi..."
Frisa seemed to be stuttering in front of Nadi. It's not because she was scared of her, it's because she respected her from bottom of her heart.
She had only been living here for few weeks and in that time, she almost familiarise herself with almost everyone around here but Nadi was the one she couldn't break the thin ice with.
"Just call me Nadi. No need to bother with honorifics." Nadi said to her shrugging her shoulders..
Frisa was stunned for a few seconds before saying, "Ah yeah, the chief told me to carry this bag of medicine to the clinic..."
Nadi stared at her for two seconds before sighing and saying, "Alright. Go before any of the patients suffer terrible injury."
And at that moment, they hear a blast from behind them.
Both of them were shocked and quickly ran where the said explosion occurred.
By the time they appeared, there were broken doors, windows, barrels everywhere in their surroundings.
And in the middle there was a lady in black with a covered face looking around and doing nothing.
Noticing the thief, Frisa and Nadi quickly got away from her sight and hid in one of the signs.
"What is your magic affinity?" whispered Nadi quietly.
"Excuse me?" Frisa was stunned for a moment not knowing how to answer.
Nadi, not annoyed repeated her question, "I mean what type of magic you got? I got Aqua affinity with long range of attacks."
Frisa understood her and answered back quietly, "Flame affinity and long range attacks."
In this world, all the living beings got an affinity for magic they were born with. They are Flame affinity, Aqua affinity, Plant affinity, Lightning affinity, Wind affinity, Ground affinity, Light affinity, Darkness affinity and finally Deviant affinity.
All those affinities got a ranges and mana to use them. Those with short ranges have more amount of mana and those with long ranges and a little less amount of mana than the short ranges. The one with short ranges mostly depend on their chosen weapons to fight and they can create any material their chosen weapon while the one with long range uses their speed and spells to fight.
All of these qualities are present in every living being and they are born with it from the start. If you are born a short range, you will be a short range for your entire life likewise for the long range.
While Nadi listened to Frisa, she quickly came up with a strategy and said to Frisa, "Help me cover up alright? We both will take her down in an instant!"
"But how will be do that?" Frisa quickly asked
Nadi thought for a second and said....
"Just distract her for a moment and cover me. And then leave everything to me!"
Frisa looked at her for a moment and nodded quietly.
Then she picked up a cover of a barrel and covered it with flames. She took her aim and instantly aimed at the thief.
It didn't matter it the barrel hit her or not, the only thing mattered was that she was distracted for a second.
The thief name Misano looked back for a second and she noticed a barrel cover aiming for her face!
She ducked down to dodge it only to be greeted with a couple of water streams aimed at her.
She tried to dodge it but couldn't dodge it all because it came so quickly. In an instant she regained her composure and began aiming at the direction where the attack came from.
She began charging her attack and aimed at every direction.
Nadi looked at the attacked and quickly deduced that it's a power of wind affinity with long range.
By the time the attack stopped, Frisa stood up and threw some fireballs at her to distract her.
All of them missed the thief Misano but it hit her surroundings causing that particular area to be filled with steam.
"NOW!!" Charged Nadi and she quickly began creating a barrier....
Somewhere in the outskirts of the town. Not less than 10 people were gathered there on horses grabbing either a spear or a sword.
They were all preparing to enter the town to fight and leading them was a man who had blonde hair with a silver and gold armor carrying a Lance.
They were all preparing to head towards the town.
