Capítulo 61: Annoying Ghost
"Do you know why I got that name?" asked Wei Li in a calm demeanor. He was unmoved and stood where he was a while ago. Not even his foot was changed. The sabertooth was gripped on its blade between the leather-wrapped fingers of Wei Li. He looked like he won't be surprised even if the newbies had the acute answer to his question. "You are so annoying," said Lin Cian without having a fragment of fear in him. William looked at Lin Cian and wondered what he is made of while his face showed traces of being angered when Lin Cian said that. After all, Wei Li was a senior to him. As a senior Wei Li should be respected by Lin Cian but instead he was mocked and disrespected. William wants to hit Lin Cian but the sudden turn in the environment stopped him from hitting him. The voice felt harmless but it belonged to a person who was well respected by William.
"No wonder..." Wei Li's face showed signs of amusement and annoyance. His eyes were locked on Lin Cian but he had a mixture of lively and lifeless expressions on them. But his eyes were glimmering without question or reason. He let go of a short smile that lasted for a fraction of a second. Lin Cian open his mouth to let go of the last words he had for the reason for Wei Li's name.
"Your field spell was annoying," said Lin Cian with extreme confidence. Wei Li bit the right side of his lower lip and started to smile. He took away his gaze from Lin Cian and smiled at himself. He tied both his hands behind and his gaze turned towards the answer. "You are indeed smart," he said in a broad tone but now it had a little excitement in it. He didn't take back his gaze as if he was waiting for the whole story. Lin Cian didn't hesitate and started to discourse whatever he had in his mind.
"Your field control spell will set a barrier which will neutralize the effects of the spells produced inside it. So it should have blocked the communication between me and sabertooth" William's eyes widened and his eyebrows raised to their limits. While he was just staring at Wei Li and Lin Cian after a moment of silence Lin Cian extended his left hand. "Sabertooth," he said and the dagger flashed towards the hands of Lin Cian. He grabbed the dagger and looked at it for a moment analyzing it. Then after a few seconds, he came to his senses as William came near him and tapped him with his elbows to alert him. When Lin Cian realized he cupped his hands while holding the dagger between the hands. "Thank you for your guidance," he said in a calm, cold but polite tone. Wei Li was really surprised by the respect he got from the newbie who can even see the trump card of the annoying ghost. But the fact is Lin Cian's demon's eyes had the ability to see through things. Even the field control spell was strong enough to be invisible and invincible because the hidden aura that cannot be sensed through a cultivator was easily spotted with the demon's eyes.
William was aware of the fact that Lin Cian can see through things. But he was a bit shocked because he could see that even Wei Li was surprised enough to know that Lin Cian found his trump card. "Don't ever dare to be foolish enough to risk your life" a broad yet cold word from Wei Li send a chill through the spine of Lin Cian. When William turned his head towards the sound he could see the cold gaze and the heart-piercing look of Wei Li was set on Lin Cian. Lin Cian gulped and replied from his side with a nod and a ridiculous grin that exposed his teeth.
Once again Lin Cian resumed his initial state and looked at his dagger. He made some moves with it to ensure his connection with the spirit. Suddenly he showed signs of being watched. He slowly turned his head to his southeast. Seeing Lin Cian turning his head William's and Wei Li's gazes followed. They could see Aveda and Darius standing together on the other side and watching the three members of their party bickering and playing with each other. Aveda smiled at them as they saw her. Darius felt embarrassed to look at the eyes of the newcomers. He smiled at them while the corners of his eyes were wrinkled and the flesh on his cheek moved towards the lower eyelids. His teeth were shown and he was scratching his head clearly showing his feeling of embarrassment.
Lin Cian and William smiled at them with a slight bow while Wei Li just smiled without even a 'hi'. Aveda came forward "We will be moving out tomorrow," she said with a normal and calm expression. William nodded and smiled at her. Wei Li looks like he didn't respond. Lin Cian raised one of his eyebrows when he heard that. She could clearly understand everything so she just smiled at him and said "It is not too late to move by then." Lin Cian felt like he dragged everyone down but he didn't show it on his face. He stood like he had no feelings or emotions. Wei Li whose hands were itching for something displayed an unsatisfied expression on his face. The feeling of being restricted led him not to raise his hands or voice. Lin Cian saw that "Ghost Wei Li can you teach me something?" said Lin Cian while holding his dagger and slightly bowing at him. The words were very unexpected to Wei Li who could never refuse such an offer to have a fight with him.
Wei Li was aware of what will happen if Lin Cian ended up being hurt. But Lin Cian asked him to fight with him so Wei Li don't want to let go of the chance. Wei Li seems not to be single-minded. He was lingering between wonder and excitement. He was excited to spar with Lin Cian but he also wondered who would win the fight between them. Wei Li and Lin Cian stared at each other for a moment. Aveda and William who were aware of and witnessed everything took a few steps back and moved from the view of them so they won't get disrupted in the midway.
Lin Cian wondered about the strength of the annoying ghost. When both of them are staring at each other Lin Cian felt that his soul strength was getting weak. He could feel that his soul energy was getting drained. He had no answers to his question like 'what the hell is happening?' Wei Li smiled at Lin Cian whose face was paler than ever. For some unknown reason, Lin Cian's breath become rapid and he was breathing loudly and like crazy.
William wondered the reason for Lin Cian panting. But only the senior members of the party know about that. Wei Li was a warlock and was very good in field control spells which would affect the whole performance of a team. Lin Cian is smart to understand but he is not smart enough to know how to break it. Wei Li was also expecting Lin Cian to surprise him but Lin Cian fell to his knees. "Rondell..." an angelic voice pronounced his new identity. But the voice had a worried tone in it. When June wanted to stop the fight a hand stopped her. when she recognized it was Harry she stared at him for an explanation. "He is fine," said Harry which made June get shocked to the point where she glared at her husband. Whatever she did the hand which held her back didn't allow her to get in so she had no other choice than to watch the sparring session.
Wei Li maintained a distance of five meters between him and Lin Cian. After all, Wei Li was aware of Lin Cian's speed but this time Lin Cian made a fool of himself by using his doppelganger technique to attack Wei Li. Wei Li sensed a sudden moment behind him and acted accordingly and only by then, June could interpret the words Harry told her. She relaxed her posture and her body which made Harry let go of her bounds. But it was tattooed on everyone's faces that they were surprised by the sudden action of Lin Cian. Despite his level and strength Wei Li was also amazed by Lin Cian's assassination.
Wei Li just dodged but did nothing else. He didn't make an attacking move. He just used his field control spell believing that would be enough to deal with Lin Cian. Wei Li regrets for a moment for underestimating Lin Cian because he didn't know or expected that Lin Cian would deceive him by acting like his soul energy was drained. But when Wei Li thought everything was over two doppelgangers attacked him out of nowhere which made him retreat without a second thought.
Wei Li was amazed but tensed to see that three doppelgangers of exactly no difference were surrounding him with a slaying look. He could see that the particular field-effect spell was useless against Lin Cian but he also didn't want to go overboard. So he thought of finishing the fight.
Wei Li stood in a fighting stance. His right limbs were placed in front and his left limbs were placed behind. Immediately the other members of the ghost party became tensed. Wei Li hit the ground with his right hand and the earth below Lin Cian started to tremble.
