Sun shone bright in the scar, the seething heat of the wastelands became ever more dire as their steps became slower and slower. Dragging his feet, Ryu couldn't endure it anymore.

"How much until we reach the next town?" He asked after drinking water that appeared directly on his hands as he spent just a point of mana.

"Not much, about three days." Hagen replied without even a trace of discomfort by the extreme heat.

Anne walked beside them, silently, still trying to cope with the events that transpired in the bar. Something like experiencing pain, maybe even the humiliation she endured, was nothing like the feeling of betrayal after watching Ryu calmly drinking his beer while she was in the hands of the perverted giant.

"I don't think I can make it, I've spent way too much mana and we're carrying too much weight too." Ryu complained.
