Capítulo 3: 3.The Angel Who Shouldn't Be

A pale white skinned boy, a little thinner than average could be seen standing in front of a run down house. His black colored clothing along with his jet-black hair were almost invisible in the melancholy darkness of this moon less night. Yet, his face glowed under the lights of the roadside lamps, giving off an almost inhumane yet godly feeling.

(See, that description. Legendary. Though it is too racist... black and white).

He is none other than our hero Severus Snape. After having a nice talk with Lilly, Snape had decided to head back to his house. He remembered the way through the memories he got. How he got them? How am I supposed to know that. I just tell what I see. I am but a pitiful narrator.

Right now, he was staring at the shabby looking place which seemed to have come out of done horror movie. This place, which supposedly was his home was a 300 sq. feet house with a building design of maybe the 15 th century with almost as old teak wood construction. Two willow trees stood on either side of the doorway, almost as if they were guards protecting the place. It wouldn't have hurt, had it not been for the fact that both trees were fully naked, without a single leaf, adding to be the eeriness of the place. Filling himself with courage, Snape decided to enter the place.

As soon as he stepped into the house, a missile shot onto him. His mother had come to give him a hug. " How are you my son", said a cheerful Mrs. Snape. Her personality was as cheerful as Severus could remember from his memories. She was the ideal mother, loving and Jolly, hooked up with an annoying di*k of a muggle who somehow seduced her and knocked her up. She being the kind person she was, didn't want to abort a new life and so decided to separate from her family and marry the man to live a life, worse than an abused house elf. Or that is what Severus thought about her, though it seemed to be the truth now.

Looking at her asking him for dinner and checking his clothes for the usual 'I tripped over' marks, either she was a very good actor, acting with her child, all his life, or she was an angel who should not have been. Obviously it was the latter. Sev sighed, "I am alright mom." He said in an annoyed tone. "I didn't have a fight with anyone today" Good people were his weakness and Severus knew that. Anyone who has ulterior motives was easy to deal with. They acted predictably and harming them felt good. The kind and good people though, were annoying you could destroy them and then stab then right in their heart and they would just smile at it all. That smile of theirs, where they weren't even sad about themselves, Nah, these pathetic fools were pitying you. They felt bad for you. It just left a bad aftertaste.

Anyway, after having his dinner, which wasn't very nice. What would you expect from the Princess of the Prince family, Sev went to the library, which was just a small cabinet for books. It was a place, his father had never gone to. And so, her mother had kept a few, a very few books, the ones she brought from the magic world with her. She didn't hide them from Severus. They weren't some school books or books on magic theory. They were just some teenage romance novels, a couple of magazines, without photographs and a couple of letters she wanted to send her family, but could never get the courage to.

Severus just wanted to get a feel of these things. He never saw her mother's wand and had no idea, where it was. She had hid it well. He wasn't looking for it though. Trying magic now could be risky and he wasn't up for any risks right now. Snape went through the books for a couple of hours. Sev was about to go to bed, as he heard the door creak. He went outside to see a 40 year old man with black hair like Severus and a dark complexion. His eyes seemed dead. He looked drunk and was stumbling his way through. Of course, this man was Mr. Snape.

His eyes fell on Severus and he walked towards him. His hand stretched out and Severus instinctively flinched, but to his surprise, the man just rubbed his head and praised him for not coming back with a disfigured face. Mrs. Snape had arrived by now and started to joke about something with her husband. Sev, on the other hand was confused, as this wasn't what he knew. He soon realised though that this middle aged man had never really beaten him. He had scolded him a lot when he fought in school, but it was just that the young boy was scared of this burly looking giant of a man this had somehow led to a child fearing his own father to the point, that it developed into a trauma, making him disillusioned about his character and his behaviour in general.

Severus scolded himself for getting scared of an old man and was also shocked at how much these memories had affected him. Nevertheless, he soon went to sleep. Tomorrow was a Sunday and so no school. He didn't really want to go to school, but there was no real option. Also, he needed money. He can't go about the way he is. Although his father is earning, his household is clearly a very poor one. No matter what is Hogwarts' fee, they can't afford it. And he didn't want favours from magic community, before even joining them. So, he needed to earn somehow. Also, there was leglimency and occlumency and the plot… thinking about such things, our hero went to sleep, unaware of two people who were peeking at him with a kind smile on their faces.

"He seems a little different today." said Mrs. Snape, looking at their 9 y/o son. "He is growing up" added Mr. Snape. "He had made a friend today." "Really" Mr. Snape was pleasantly surprised, "And he told you that?" "Nah, I was spying on him and it's a girl. Moreover, she's a witch." 'Is this destiny',they both had the same thought.

"Do you really plan to send him to that world?" asked Mr. Snape in a little serious tone which was very different from his normal drunk self. "Honey, I know you hate them for kicking you out, but we can't keep him away from magic." "I don't hate them anymore. It is what I deserved for being a squib. I am just worried for him a little" "Oh… don't say that you are my strong daddy." "Shut up." They laughed quietly, while thinking, whether or not to do the thing they dreaded the most.
