Capítulo 2: A Different Manhattan

"What have you done?!" Captain yelled, "You've doomed us all!!" Richard shouted. The world around them began to deteriorate into abstract colors, buildings, cars, even people.

Richard looked down at his tentacles as they also began to deteriorate, before his own hands did the same. "This is your fault, Spider-"

The Captain watched as the Doctor disappeared completely. "We gotta go" he told Hawk, who seemed reluctant. The Hawk motioned towards Sydney, wondering if they should at least rescue the girl, it'd be cruel even for him to leave her for dead.

"Save her? What, so she can enact revenge on us?! Let's go while we still can!!" The Captain patted The Hawk on the shoulder. Cap tapped a button on the star located to his chest, while The Hawk tapped a button on one of his holsters. In the blink of an eye, the two disappeared, seemingly teleported away.

Sydney watched in despair as the world disappeared around her, the colors closing in on her. "…Aunt May!! I hope she's-" before Sydney could finish her sentence, she deteriorated as well.

Sydney suddenly woke up with a startle, awoken by a car beep. "Sorry Sorry!!!" Sydney rushed out of the car's path, "…where…where am I?" Sydney asked herself.

She was standing in the middle of Manhattan, but something seemed different…there were no flashy billboards, or stores, or large crowds.

The streets were barren, without a single soul in sight. The concrete ground had strings of grass sticking out of the cracks. Stores were closed for what seemed like a long time. It was a colorless, silent Manhattan.

"…Oh god, don't tell me this is the future!!" Sydney exclaimed, immediately assuming the worst, "am I the last human alive?! Where-" "Parker!!!" A booming, gravelly voice echoed through the empty streets.

A flurry of sand surrounded Sydney, creating a whirlwind as a large face formed in the sandy typhoon. "WHERE HAVE YOU TAKEN ME, PARKER?!" The Sandman growled.

"What? Who are you?" Sydney asked, having never encountered such a threat in her life. "Don't play dumb. I was sucked into that…that green fracture in the earth, then I was transported here…"

"Look sir, you may have gotten the wrong gal, I'm also totally confused about all of this, so why don't we just settle down and-" "ENOUGH!!! BRING ME HOME!!! I- I need to make sure my son is okay. The last thing I saw was the world collapsing around me…bring me home…or DIE" Sandman growled, as a gigantic hand formed by sand grabbed ahold of Sydney and tossed her into the air.

"WOAHHHH-Woah!! What the-" Sydney muttered. Across the sea was another Manhattan, similar but different. Across the sea from that Manhattan was another one, once again, similar but different. The sea was surrounded by different variations of the same borough.

"What the HELL-" Sydney screamed as she fell, quickly webbed herself to the side of a building. "Wait!!! Mister Sand Castle!!! I-" before she could finished her sentence, a gigantic sandy fist smashed her through the brick wall and into an empty unfinished room, the room seemed to have been under construction, as if the person that was constructing the room just suddenly disappeared while working.

Particles of sand began to reform in front of Sydney, creating the figure of a tall bulky man. "Please don't hurt me, Mister Tusken Raider!!! Look, I don't exactly know where we are…but I may have an idea…" Sydney said, raising her hand up, "…I think…we're in a different Manhattan…I-I mean…a different universe from our own" she explained.

The Sandman pondered on Sydney's statement, before crossing his arms. "Elaborate."
