"Hey, isn't that Kong and the Raiden Shogun?"
Ning Rongrong blinked, whispering to Zhu Zhuqing beside her.
The two exchanged a glance, each with a hint of bitterness.
Finally, someone had stirred their hearts, only for them to find out he was already taken! Frustrating!
"Look at him! So relaxed, even out shopping with his wife… wait, no, by Kong's terms, it should be 'his beloved.' And he even has time to go on leisurely strolls with her!"
"We're working ourselves to the bone training, and we still can't keep up with his pace, yet here he is, leisurely enjoying life!"
At this point, they could only feel even more indignant.
Kong was only a bit over two months older than Ning Rongrong, but his abilities were already far beyond what she, the once-in-a-century genius of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, could achieve!
The two had met the Raiden Shogun before, when Kong had introduced her to them personally.
But this time, they'd made a mistake. The one shopping with Kong wasn't the Raiden Shogun—it was Ei.
The way to tell them apart was quite simple: just look at the triple bolt pattern of lightning on their forehead. If it was glowing, it was Ei. If it appeared dim, then it was the Raiden Shogun.
Both girls had transferred to a different academy and had been training diligently, hoping to close the gap with Kong.
Little did they know, the distance between them and Kong had only widened!
If talent alone were enough, who would even need cheats?
"???"
Though their voices were low and they were standing a fair distance away, Kong and Ei still caught their names, and Kong's perception picked up on their conversation.
Kong and Ei instinctively looked over at Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing.
The two girls, their cheeks slightly flushed, exchanged embarrassed looks.
They both admired Kong, yet his wife was right there beside him...
How could that not be awkward!?
"Kong, Raiden Shogun, hello."
Ning Rongrong quickly composed herself, her expression steady as she walked over with Zhu Zhuqing and greeted them.
"Ning Rongrong, Zhu Zhuqing, hello."
"Oh, by the way, this is Raiden Ei, my wife."
Kong corrected Ning Rongrong's greeting slightly, introducing her to the two girls.
"???"
Hearing this, Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing froze, exchanging confused glances and looking back at Ei in puzzlement.
What was going on?
Wasn't this the Raiden Shogun? How did she become Raiden Ei?
Both girls were thoroughly bewildered. Bolder than Zhu Zhuqing, Ning Rongrong blurted out, "Isn't she the Raiden Shogun? When did her name change?"
Kong didn't quite know how to explain. Ei could indeed be referred to as the Raiden Shogun since that title originally belonged to her sister, Baal, who was known as the Raiden Shogun. However, after Baal passed away, Ei inherited her position and title as Raiden Shogun.
Once Ei created the persona of the Raiden Shogun to manage Inazuma, the title of 'Shogun' began to diverge from her true identity.
Of course, outsiders didn't know the details; everyone simply assumed that the Raiden Shogun was the Raiden Shogun.
Baal, Beelzebul, Raiden Shogun—it was all a confusing mess.
"Ahem, Raiden Ei is Raiden Ei, and the Raiden Shogun is the Raiden Shogun."
Kong stated, not missing a beat.
After hearing this, Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing's expressions changed, and they looked at Kong differently.
He was… truly something!
What a piece of work!
They'd figured it out!
Ei and the Raiden Shogun both shared the 'Raiden' name, so they must be twin sisters, right?
What a guy!
Thinking of this, the two girls gritted their teeth in frustration.
He was already this much of a player, so why didn't he give them any attention?
They'd thought Kong was all about pure love, only to realize he'd gone and found himself a pair of twins…
"Hello, I am Raiden Ei."
Ei's expression remained unchanged as she spoke.
She had seen Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing before, though the two girls had never met her.
Hearing her speak, the two took a closer look at Ei, realizing she didn't just resemble the Raiden Shogun; they looked exactly the same!
Even the mole at the corner of her eye was identical.
Her tone, her voice… identical.
Her figure, her posture…
Could such identical twins really exist in this world?
No matter how similar they were, there should be some differences, right?
"Hello, we…"
As she started speaking, Ning Rongrong found herself unsure how to introduce them. After a brief moment of thought, she bit her lip, steeling herself, and said with determination, "We're Kong's admirers."
After saying this, she watched Ei's face for any reaction.
But as the seconds ticked by, there was no change in Ei's expression!
"Um, Sister Ei, I said we're Kong's admirers."
Ning Rongrong repeated herself, worried Ei might not have heard clearly.
"Oh."
Ei blinked, looking at Ning Rongrong in mild confusion. Why did this girl feel the need to say it twice? Did she have some form of intermittent amnesia?
She'd heard that people with this condition were quite pitiful; what they'd said or done just moments before, they'd forget by the next.
Zhu Zhuqing's face flushed bright red. She hadn't expected Ning Rongrong to be so bold and to just dive in like this.
But what shocked her even more was Ei's response!
She seemed completely unbothered!
Was it confidence in herself and the Raiden Shogun, or something else?
Kong stood to the side, taken aback. He hadn't expected Ning Rongrong to make such a "joke."
She was indeed brave in her ignorance!
If Ei were to get angry, could the entire Heaven Dou City even withstand a single strike from her?
If she did swing her blade, it might be centuries—if not millennia—before anyone could live where her strike had landed!
The sheer… ahem… nuclear-level devastation was terrifying.
Kong understood Ei's calm reaction; for her, it was only natural that people would admire Kong.
Ning Rongrong froze, a bit deflated. She'd put herself out there with such a bold move, only to get an indifferent "Oh!" in response.
But suddenly, as if a thought struck her, her initially disheartened mood shifted to one of elation!
It seemed that Sister Ei didn't dislike her; in fact, she didn't seem to care about Kong's admirers. Didn't that mean she and Zhu Zhuqing had a chance?
With this thought, Ning Rongrong's smile widened as she walked over to Ei, saying, "Sister Ei, since it's our first time meeting, as a gesture, today's expenses are on me!"
She said this with great pride. As the little princess of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, her allowance was unimaginable for ordinary people.
Kong and Zhu Zhuqing: "???"
So this is how a rich person makes friends? But why did this "wealthy" girl seem a little… strange?
"I feel an instant connection with you, Sister Ei, so please, don't refuse!"
Though her words were directed at Ei, why was she looking at Kong?
Quite the display of insincerity!
