As Gem came to his senses he found himself lying in the floor of the ships deck. He looked straight ahead and saw dim white colour in his vision range. As he slowly straightened his upper body, he started surveying his surrounding, he saw things, which can only be described as chaotic.
As he let his vision drift, he came to a realization that, he was in some sort of upper deck of a ship with his surrounding filled with human remains and weapons, as if it was an ancient battleground.
On second thought, it would be better to call them skeletons as everything else had practically decayed except for the bones which are naturally more resistant to decaying.
As he further observed his surrounding he realized that almost every skeleton has a musical instrument in their vicinity.
Slowly moving his vision back to himself he observed his posture,. He seems to be sitting in a deck with a piano to his front, his hands were still places above the ground pushing helping him sit. Unsurprising, his hand was also a bare skeleton similar to that of his surrounding .
Surprisingly, unfazed by the situation. He tried to recall if he ad any recollection of the place. But, despite giving it his all he unable to discern his exact location.
He started to wonder, if he was in the underworld or another supernatural place associated with it.
Since he was mostly bone he thought that perhaps he was in the afterlife or something like that. Maybe he was in hell or he had become some sort of ghost, he thought jokingly.
Deciding to further observe his surrounding, he looked upwards and saw a torn and tattered sail which was attached to a pole, the sail had a large skull drawn in the middle, covering most part of the main sail.
The sull was that shaped like what seems to be a bull, it also had horns on the top of the skull. Behind the skull was the 'x' shaped sign made of bone.
he couldn't see any further than that as there was fog everywhere. Initially he thought it was mist but after observing his visibility rate he decerned that it was fog. He couldn't even see the full ship properly due to the thick fog. Everything looked dark and gloomy.
By exerting force on his bony hands and legs he stood up from his floor. As he stood up the remains and dust gathered on his body slowly fell off. He was immediately able to decern that he was much taller with a thinner frame now then he was previously, by a significant margin.
After gaining a better vintage point he started observing further details of the ship. The ship seemed a bit damaged there were marking of slashes and holes of varying sizes all over the hull. Some part of the hull were torn and a gaping hole could be seen from place to place.
After observing the upper hull for a while. Gem decided to approach the cabin. The cabin also had marking of battle but to a much smaller scale the windows were broken, and the door was half open.
As he slowly opened the remaining cabin door, it was accompanied by a creaking sound.
After entering the cabin he surveyed his surrounding. There were various things in the cabin but it was mostly filled with what seems to be medical equipment.
After observing the things in the cabin. He found a stair in the corner, which seems to head inside the ship leading to the lower layers of the ship. He decided to head for the lower deck inorder to get more information.
He steadily approached the stairs and made his way down.
After reaching the lower deck he found himself in a long vacant corridor with a door at the end. There were doors on each side of the corridor, ignoring all these doors he went straight towards the door at the end.
Opening the door he saw a huge hall. There were long table arranged symmetrically in a row of two. In front of the hall was a serving counter with a door to its side Which Gem assumed lead to the kitchen.
After observing everything and despite not finding anything of significance he moved out of the large hall and decided to enter another door adjacent to the dining hall room.
As he entered the room, he saw a mirror straight in front of him. Looking at the mirror he was finally able to see his current portrait.
