As Rowan's body shuddered and collapsed, Nicasi only spared a fleeting moment for his shock before his instincts as a healer reminded him there would be time for shock later. People needed him now.

He abandoned his perfunctory examination of Mallin, giving Lysander's brother a nudge with his magic to encourage him to stay sleeping just as he'd done for all the others before rushing to Rowan's side.

After all of their connections to Rowan except Alaric's had vanished, Nicasi had kept one eye on the pair while moving quickly from bed to bed to do a preliminary assessment of the adherents who had finally been freed thanks to the misunderstood man who stood like a corpse in the middle of the room. Now Rowan took priority over all of them.
