Capítulo 143: Tokushima City

The Sanbi incident has ended. Konohagakure lost Chunin medical ninja Nohara Rin, while Kirigakure lost a Bijuu and an elite ANBU squad.

On paper, this seems like a good deal for Konoha.

The death of Nohara Rin, the Jinchuuriki of the Sanbi, prevented a disaster in Konoha.

But for Kakashi, it was a very cruel outcome.

After Obito sacrificed his life to save him, Rin became his most cherished friend.

However, the life of this last beloved friend also ended.

Therefore, Kakashi fell into a state of self-blame and regret.

Even Shintaro's comfort didn't help, so under Minato's arrangement, Kakashi returned to Konoha to recuperate.

After the Sanbi incident, Kirigakure's attacks became unstoppable. Under Minato's command, the situation on the southern front was very favorable.

However, something major happened on the Western Front.

"Minato, this is a battle report from the front lines sent directly by Jiraiya-sama."

Shikaku rushed to the front lines and found Minato directing the fight.

Minato stood up and took the battle report while Shikaku began explaining the situation on the Western Front battlefield.

"What happened?"

Minato asked while opening the battle report.

Shikaku told him the information he knew.

"The Western Front has been defeated. Jiraiya-sama has led his forces back to Tokushima City."

"Tokushima City? That's deep within our country..." Minato's expression grew serious.

He glanced at the battle report and understood the situation.

"I see... There's an issue with the high-level combat power..."

There wasn't much difference in the forces deployed on the eastern front between Konoha and Sunagakure.

Konoha had ten thousand troops, and Sunagakure's forces were less than two thousand more than Konoha's.

For Konoha, this force was only half their strength, but for Sunagakure, it was nearly the entire village's force.

After all, Sunagakure is located in the Wind Country with poor resources and a harsh living environment, always following the path of an elite army.

In terms of military strength, Sunagakure could only be said to have a slight advantage. However, in terms of high-level combat power, Sunagakure was still full of powerful individuals, including the Fourth Kazekage Rasa, Jinchuuriki of Shukaku, Elder Chiyo, and Elder Ebizo.

Whether it was Rasa's magnetic element or the Bijuu's power, or the puppet and poison techniques mastered by the two elders, they were all very difficult for ordinary ninjas to handle.

Although Konoha had two Sannin present, Tsunade and Jiraiya.

But Minato knew that Tsunade had witnessed her boyfriend Kato Dan die in front of her during the last great ninja war, his death was tragic, and she had suffered from a blood phobia ever since.

Therefore, Tsunade couldn't go to the front lines and could only act as a medical ninja in the rear.

In other words, the Konoha side on the Western Front battlefield was entirely supported by Jiraiya alone.

Initially, they could barely hold on, but since Sunagakure launched an all-out attack, Konoha lost its strength.

"Fortunately... It's not too bad."

Minato consoled himself.

After all, under Jiraiya's command, Konoha's forces retreated in an orderly manner.

The main problem in Konoha right now is the lack of high-level combat power.

No matter how strong Jiraiya is, it would be difficult to fight one against four.

After thinking for a moment, Minato made a decision.

"Shikaku, you take over command of the southern front forces on my behalf. I will support Jiraiya-sensei, along with Shintaro."

Minato immediately decided to personally support Jiraiya and also bring Shintaro along.

The strength of the two would be enough to turn the tide of the war on the Western Front. After all, the power of these two had been proven on the battlefield.

Seeing Shikaku nod and approve of the support plan, Minato called Shintaro back from the front lines.

"Shintaro, let's go support the Western Front battlefield."

Shintaro immediately nodded and casually asked, "Where's the battlefield?"

"Tokushima City."

Shintaro's expression changed slightly, and Minato asked, "What's wrong?"

Shintaro shook his head and explained, "Nothing... I just didn't expect Sunagakure to hit Konoha's doorstep."

"Yeah, but the situation isn't too bad. The village has sent reinforcements. As long as we both reinforce the battlefield, the situation can be reversed."

Minato said reassuringly as he watched.

The two immediately set off, heading straight for Tokushima City in the Land of Fire. Known for their speed, they could travel much faster than other ninjas.

With their full effort, it only took half a day to traverse most of the Land of Fire and rush from the southern battlefield to the western battlefield.

In a sense, this was also due to the continuous setbacks on the Western Front battlefield.

"Minato-sensei, I want to go to Tokushima City to see the people's reactions."

When the two arrived not far from the battlefield, Shintaro suddenly spoke.

Minato could only nod upon hearing this, "You are still wise. After all, this is the first time the people of the Land of Fire have seen an enemy invade deep inside."

"Go ahead. I'll go support Jiraiya-sensei first. You see how the people react. If the people panic, you will be responsible for calming them down. Don't let any issues arise at the rear."

Shintaro agreed immediately, then changed direction and rushed to Tokushima City.

The small city of Tokushima didn't even have city walls, so he could easily enter it.

As for the people in Tokushima City, they stayed behind closed doors to avoid the war.

"Don't panic everyone! Trust that Konoha will surely win!"

Shintaro quickly walked around the city, shouting words of reassurance while looking for something.

He walked through most of the city and finally saw a familiar figure on the street, Pakura.

Pakura was disguised as a civilian, poking her head out of a street entrance to look at him, and the two met eyes.

Shintaro immediately approached her and whispered, "Finally, I found you."

When Pakura met him, she angrily said, "Didn't you say that Sunagakure would never be able to attack this place? What's the situation now?"

Shintaro waved his hand and said, "None of this matters. What matters is that your opportunity has come."

"Opportunity? I'm worried that you, Konoha, can't protect yourselves."

Pakura looked unconvinced, crossing her arms, which made the two mounds even more attention-grabbing.

Shintaro said with a serious expression, "Don't worry, it's not Konoha that we can't protect."

"The advantage Sunagakure has right now is only temporary, and the posture of an all-out attack with the entire force won't last long. It only takes one defeat, and Sunagakure's morale will completely collapse."

"At that time, this is a great opportunity for you to show up."

Pakura frowned and said, "How sure are you?"

"A hundred percent sure." Shintaro extended his fingers and said, "Don't worry, I guarantee that after this battle, you will become the next generation Kazekage."

Shintaro took out the scorched element from his pocket. The scorched element emitted a white light symbolizing a terrifying high temperature.

"I still have this item."
