Using Spirit Dowsing to determine whether the evil spirit would cause harm to Max was rather simple. Klein repeated it 7 times, and then the pendulum began spinning clockwise, but it was considerably slow.
'So, it will harm me, but not too much? Or perhaps it might kill me, but not anytime soon,' Max deduced before nodding to Klein, "Now please check when it will harm me and how. I think dream divination would work. Here, use me as the medium, it will bring more accurate results."
Max extended his hand, and Klein took it, then tilted his head back and repeated his divination seven times before entering a state of cogitation. Then, several images flashed past his eyes and the Sefirah Castle trembled slightly.
Klein's body gradually turned into grey-black tentacles which began to emerge from his orifices. Max felt the connection with Unity and realised Klein was likely being corrupted by his future self, so this information was better not told to Klein. Which means he already had enough information.
'Time travel and anything related to it are really odd things to understand. Thankfully, as long as I decide from this moment on, that when Klein from the past sees me, and he has seen enough information, I will corrupt his sight to prevent him from seeing anything further… this should reach a closed loop right?'
'But what if Klein was not seeing into the future, but as it is depicted in the book, just seeing possibilities?'
'Then this corruption should not have worked. Perhaps, even the possibilities are entire worlds that exist to some extent, and only when people make decisions do all the other possible worlds cease to exist. Or perhaps, they might even continue unaffected.'
'Of right, I have to uncorrupt him! Or else he might end up like Roselle.'
Max raised his hand and immediately the Unity energy stopped writhing with Klein. The grey-black tentacles transformed into pure black Unity energy and instead flowed out of him, and into the grey fog in the distance, going straight to the small crack that was leaking pitch-black energy.
"Sorry about that, but what did you see?" Max questioned the panting Klein.
…
Max stretched as he returned to his body, with an incredibly confused Red Angel Evil spirit floating in front of him.
"You… how are you connected to Mysteries?"
Max smirked and did not respond, causing the panic in the three-in-one to rapidly increase. At first, he had only thought of this guy having access to a Pathway from the Endless Cosmos, but now, it seemed very different. He also had a connection with the dormant Lord of Mysteries, which made things a lot more different. Plus, there was that strange energy that could have killed his soul, reducing it to nothingness which was at the very least at the power level of a Great Old One. Added to the fact that he had two other Great Old Ones support him rather openly, it made for a truly terrifying being who, despite being so much weaker than him, could pressure him into serving him.
'It feels like all the most powerful beings in the world are watching this kid… Ouroboros would likely find something interesting in connection to his fate,' sighing at their currently bleak fate, Sauron-Einhorn-Medici asked, "So, what do we do now?" "Right, right, what do we do?" "I don't want to do anything," all three parts of the spirit spoke simultaneously, and Max just ignored the third lazy one. They would have to listen to him anyway, there was no use in disobeying.
"We find you a body, one that will not deteriorate too quickly, and then work to find Beyonder Characteristics for you. Unlike me who is stuck because of a few restrictions, you can easily advance directly to Sequence 3 or even 2 without any problems. Plus, being a former natural Mythical creature, you should not have any issues with digestion either. Come on!"
…
Klein, who had told Max what he had found, also returned to his own body after sending Max off and laid down on the bed.
'That evil Spirit with red hair would follow Mr. Death for a few years, before finding the perfect opportunity to try and backstab him in what looked like a medieval world? Anyways, the moment it tried to do that, Mr. Death transformed into something really horrifying, and then I was cut off. Just like when dealing with the origin of the Mutated Sun Sacred Emblem, I almost died of that. It's best to keep my distance from Mr. Death's divinations for the time being.'
'I have more important matters to deal with. Mr. Death said something bad was going to happen in Backlund. I should try and plan my escape from here and where I would be going next in case he is unable to stop it. Also, I should also try to personally investigate Lanevus' location.'
Klein stretched a bit and got out of bed, ready to go about his day as Detective Sherlock Moriarty.
[AN: Good news, I have been writing the next volume. I have finished Chapter 143, and am halfway through 144. The avatar Arc feels like it's going well, but from my understanding, it will not be too long. Perhaps 20-40 chapters. The rest will likely involve mc returning to Earth or just other POVs from Earth, as the original plot still needs to progress even without the mc. I hope everyone will like it.]
Chapter length: 844 words
