The Celestial Professor

Chapter 01: Hot for Teacher

– Albus Dumbledore –

Being outmanoeuvred by Cornelius Fudge was rather insulting, to be entirely honest. Cornelius' attempt to put his toady, Umbridge, into the position of Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor was overturned, if only barely, by filling the position himself. Young Nymphadora may be inexperienced, but she would suffice.

Minister Fudge had tried to pass a temporary law that a Ministry Employee would take the infamous position during these 'troubled times', and while he had technically succeeded, he hadn't expected Dumbledore to work with Amelia Bones and hire an Auror for the position. Despite Nymphadora's immaturity, she did get Outstandings on her N.E.W.T for Defence and was more than capable of teaching.

But Cornelius hadn't been easily deterred for once, and while he had failed to fill the role of Defence Professor with one of his people, he did not give up. It was unusually active for the normally lethargic minister; Dumbledore might even have been proud had it not been aimed at infiltrating Hogwarts out of some misplaced paranoia that Dumbledore was trying to foment an insurrection.

So, he'd moved to make a new vacancy in Hogwarts by using the young Malfoy's injuries in her third year as an excuse to charge Rubeus with willful negligence of his charges and have him fired from the position of Care of Magical Creatures Professor by the Board of Governors, led by Malfoy of course.

He could not remove Rubeus from his position as Groundskeeper, but it didn't matter. Another professor position was now open, and it was filled before Dumbledore could do anything to prevent it. What came as a surprise was the choice.

In truth, he'd expected Cornelius to foolishly attempt to shove Umbridge into the position despite the fact that she never even took the elective, something Dumbledore could use to remove her from the position in short order, but Cornelius managed to genuinely catch him by surprise.

While the man in question was a former Ministry employee, having served as a Hit Wizard for several years, he had long since left his job behind. Instead, he joined his father on his travels around the world as Newt wrote his next book before setting off on his own travels shortly after the book was released.

That Cornelius had picked the child of one of Dumbledore's trusted friends as the new Professor had genuinely perplexed him. It seemed to have perplexed Malfoy just as much, Cornelius having made this decision with no 'advice' for once.

The reasoning became clear when Dumbledore stopped and considered things. While Cornelius liked to remind people he had been there when the notorious serial killer, Sirius Black, had been captured, he tended to leave out that he was just a part of the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, there to see what had caused such a large blast of magic.

It was the Hit Wizards who had taken in Sirius, and their new professor had been the one to disarm the madly laughing man. Looking into their relationship, it seemed that Cornelius had once been friends with the young Scamander while he was still working for the Ministry.

Robin Scamander may be the son of Dumbledore's old friend, Newt, but he was also a friend of Cornelius. It was that old friendship that Cornelius had called upon to hire the man for the position of Professor for Care of Magical Creatures.

Even Dumbledore couldn't deny that Robin was a wonderful choice. He had an Outstanding in both his O.W.L and N.E.W.T exams and had spent years travelling the world with Newt, his father and the man who had quite literally written the book on the Care of Magical Creatures.

Arriving at the current 'home' of Robin, he watched as Cornelius brightened up at spotting the reason for their visit in the distance, moving rather rapidly for a man of his size as Dumbledore followed behind. Robin, much like his father, was the adventurous sort, and they were currently in the plains of the African Savannah, outside a small house standing alone in the vast wilderness.

In front of them, Robin himself was currently grooming a rather large Graphorn, though upon noticing their approach, he put down the brush and calmly stroked the large, dangerous creature's hide for a moment before he walked towards them.

Dumbledore had not seen the younger man in many years, but he could see the resemblance to the child who'd graduated from Hogwarts those years ago. Unlike his somewhat eternally baby-faced father, Robin had a rather neatly trimmed beard and moustache and a pair of wide-rimmed glasses on his face. His hair was several shades darker than his father's but shared some of the unkemptness despite Robin's obvious attempts to tame the dark-brown hair. His dark chocolate brown eyes took after his mother, Porpentina, and they looked over the approaching group with some interest as he spoke quietly to the Graphorn, which bellowed in response and trotted back towards the house.

"Robin! It's been far too long," Cornelius said with some cheer, approaching the other man and giving him a pat on the shoulder. "You were not an easy man to track down."

"True, I never stay in one place for too long. There's too much to see in the world, after all," Robin agreed with a small smile on his face. "It's good to see you, Cornelius. I was rather surprised to get your letter. Headmaster, Lucius."

Robin nodded towards them as they followed behind Cornelius, and Dumbledore smiled at the young man. Lucius didn't look thrilled but returned the nod with a smile that looked more like a sneer.

"Well, when Hogwarts found itself down a professor not a week before the new year started, you were the first to come to mind. No one can deny your skill with magical beasts, after all," Cornelius praised, chortling even as he moved cautiously to keep Robin between him and the Graphorn that was now watching them curiously.

"Indeed, I once offered your father the position, but you know how he is. Much like you, he has never been one for staying in one place for too long. How is Newt?" Dumbledore cut in, making Robin snort.

"Officially 'retired' from the Magizoology business after the release of his latest book, and living a peaceful life in Dorset. Naturally, that means he's run off to the Amazon Rainforest to study Fire Slugs," Robin said with a fond chuckle. "That man will be trying to sneak off his deathbed to study some new magical insect, I swear. The old man is ninety-nine years old and still acts like he's twenty."

Ah, that sounded like the Newt he knew and was so fond of. As Robin spoke, the Graphorn moved behind him, its tentacles reaching out and encircling Robin's head. Despite being held by the large, dangerous, magical beast, Robin just sighed and reached up, stroking its head.

"Theseus, stop pouting. Sorry, he gets jealous if I ignore him," Robin explained, making Dumbledore chuckle at the sight. He truly did take after his father, and he'd named his familiar after his Uncle, who had unfortunately passed away.

"Do you intend to take that… creature to Hogwarts with you?" Lucius asked, making Robin nod.

"Theseus is no threat to anyone who isn't a threat to me. Frankly, I imagine he'll behave better than most of the students, and I have a licence for him," Robin agreed, turning to his familiar. "Sit, I'll get back to grooming you soon."

The Graphorn sat on its hind legs, tilting its head as Robin reached up and stroked its majestic horns.

"Now, now, Lucius. Robin clearly has the creature under control; we won't have a repeat of Hagrid's failings," Cornelius said, waving off Lucius' concerns. A part of him wondered if Lucius had other reasons not to want a powerful, magic-resistant creature at Hogwarts.

Tom's plans were unknown to him, but Tom had always been obsessed with Hogwarts.

"I do apologise for the short notice, Robin, but as Cornelius said, we became short-staffed rather unexpectedly," Dumbledore said as if the cause of that wasn't standing beside him.

"It's fine; this is just my latest adventure, and I can spare a year from my travels at the very least," Robin said with a small smile. "My studies on the Tebo were wrapping up anyway. In truth, I'm here because my father heard of a new variant of Tebo and was getting ready to head into the Savannah himself, looking for it. Mother asked me to do it to try and keep the old man at home," Robin laughed, making Dumbledore chuckle himself.

It was nice to know that age had not slowed Newt down.

"Honestly, you didn't need to come out all this way to pick me up. I do remember the way to Hogwarts; it hasn't been that long, and it will be good to be back," Robin joked. "Theseus, it's time to go to sleep for a little while. I'll summon you when we get to our new home."

Theseus grumbled but moved back as Robin drew his wand and cast something silently. They all watched as the giant Graphorn shrunk down to a small statue of itself, small enough for Robin to easily pick it up and place it in his pocket.

"An impressive trick; I believe Minerva will be proud to know how good you've gotten at Transfiguration," Dumbledore explained, making Robin smile.

"I travel through the Muggle world a lot during my job, and while I do have my father's old suitcase, sometimes I need another way of transporting my companion," Robin explained, turning to his house.

Clapping his hands together twice, they all watched as the entire building started to spin and rapidly shrink, leaving a small suitcase in its place as Robin picked it up. Dumbledore hid his astonishment at Robin's skill with magic, but then Robin had always been a rather talented wizard.

While he'd been at Hogwarts, he was unbeaten by his peers at duelling due to his ingenuity with his spells, and ability to modify the spells to act differently. One of his old favourite tricks during his time as a Hit Wizard had been to alter the stupefy spell to explode into a stunning burst on impact or make his spells move bizarrely, casting from his wand sideways or twisting them mid-air. In truth, Dumbledore himself never could explain how Robin could do what he did. It was humbling to be reminded that despite his age and experience, there was still much he didn't know.

Robin picked up his house with a calm smile, turning back to them.

"Shall we?"

– Robin Scamander –

Celestial System Online.

Being a Wizard means being used to many unusual things, and I've travelled the world twice over, both with my father and then alone, so I have a vast tolerance for weirdness.

Starter Rolls will be incorporated into your 'backstory'.

Celestial Menagerie Starter Roll.

[Harry Potter: Graphorn] - 200cp

The Graphorn is large and hump-backed, with greyish-purple skin tougher than that of dragons. It can repel most spells, has two golden horns, and walks on large, four-thumbed feet. Its mouth is made of tentacle-like appendages that are used to grab food and put it in its mouth. It also uses these to show affection. If a Graphorn is angered, the interior of its body emits an orange glow, and its physical prowess becomes temporarily enhanced.

Having history change on me, new memories of me befriending a wounded Graphorn calf during my earlier travels is not the kind of weirdness I can just shrug away.

Celestial Reliquary Starter Roll.

[Skeleton Key] - 200cp

A Daedric Artefact of Nocturnal, Daedric Prince of Night and Darkness, this key is her most well-known and sought-after artefact. The Skeleton Key can open any lock, be it mundane or magical. You can also use it to relock stuff once you're done. In the right hands, the artefact can be used to unlock all things, including portals, hidden potential, and other unknown possibilities. Its ultimate function, however, is to unlock and hold open the Ebonmere, a portal to Nocturnal's realm, Evergloam.

The key, currently hanging around my neck on an enchanted chain, weighs heavy as we portkey back to England, the feeling of a pair of eyes on me at all times making me shudder slightly.

Celestial Forge Starter Roll.

[House of the Witch] - 100cp

Every young witch's favourite birthday present, at least until they know how to make it themselves. This small house is rather rudimentary when it comes to living necessities, but quite filled out in regards to potion making. Not only does it have a high-quality set of tools and appliances for creating potions and poisons and designing magical rituals, but it also comes with a weekly replenishing stock of low-to-mid-range potions in the pantry. From youth-restoring drinks, potions to plump or slim down the form, some love potions and even a few useful combat potions that can temporarily improve strength and speed. The house also always has a fresh batch of pancakes ready on the stove, covered in your choice of delicious topping.

The potions that replenish inside my portable house are far from 'low-to-mid-range'. I don't know which world this house came from, but I have come to understand that the 'Celestial System' is pulling from alternate realities.

The fact that my Graphorn came with the label of 'Harry Potter' was strange because, as far as I can tell, there's never been a 'Harry' in the Potter family. The only living Potter I know of is Rose, the Girl Who Lived. Perhaps another world, similar enough to ours to have the same creatures, but with this Harry, who was somehow so important that the world was named after him?

Celestial Grimoire Starter Roll.

[Cantrip Master] - 200cp

Your mastery of magic has made you very flexible and versatile in the mystic arts, and you can now modify and alter the basic spells in your repertoire. This allows you to do things like changing how a spell is delivered; for example, turning a projectile spell into a spell delivered with a touch. In addition, you can choose where your spells will appear from, so long as it's within ten meters of you, as well as what direction they will go. If you choose to make a spell have an area of effect or a burst effect, it will only be able to affect an area of ten meters in any direction. In addition, if a spell is actually described as simple or as a cantrip in the setting but still has some sort of limit or cost on using it, your mastery of cantrips has made it so you can cast those spells for free.

This changed my past and made me a former Hit Wizard, known for my mastery of the simplest spells such as Stupefy, Protego or Expelliarmus. Frankly, this Celestial power is terrifying, to so easily alter history.

Celestial System Active. Playing the pre-recorded message from your Sponsor.

"Hello, Robin. If you're hearing this, you didn't disappoint me and were chosen to help me win a bet against my beloved wife. Long story short, we are giving the same system to several people in different worlds to prove that we are the better judge of character. Your competition is a madman who thinks he's a pharaoh, a hero more interested in banging his sister and a foxboy who just goes along with whatever happens. I expect you to do better than them. Do not die; I will be most displeased if you somehow manage to lose in this world with the Celestial System at your fingertips, and we shall speak more once you have completed this world. Jin Yukimura, Council Member of the Guild.'

The message ends, leaving me blinking in confusion. Sponsor? Guild?

Shaking my head, I focus on my situation.

Cornelius is paranoid about Dumbledore building an army in Hogwarts, ready to overthrow him. I find the idea rather silly; if Dumbledore wanted to be Minister, he would be, but I agreed to keep an eye on Dumbledore while I was here,

This kind of nonsense is why I prefer the wilderness, but I suppose it is time for me to come home. The rumours coming out of England have reached even me in the wilds of Africa. The disastrous end of the Tri-Wizard Cup, rumours that Rose Potter murdered her opponent to win and blamed it on a returning Dark Lord.

All I heard about the Tri-Wizard Cup was Dad's complaining about them endangering and displacing magical creatures for the ridiculous spectacle, but I was busy and ignored most of the stories coming out of the school.

Still, as I look up at Hogwarts Castle, I can't help but smile slightly. I have missed this place, as everyone who attends does at some point in their life. Setting down my suitcase, I open it and my home appears at the edge of the forbidden forest, leaving me to make some final adjustments.

I'm not far from Hagrid's hut, and I make a note to head over and talk to him about his own lesson plans before he was let go. It doesn't take me long to set up a pen for Theseus, transforming him back. The statue trick came with my System, as did my ability to transport my house as I please. Both are undeniably useful, but they make me seem far too good with Transfiguration. I am good; my Exceeds Expectations proves that, but transforming an entire house is laughably beyond me.

Setting everything up, I push my glasses up with a small smile. Despite the political mess involved, I am looking forward to spending a year as a professor. I did consider trying to become the Care of Magical Creatures professor after I graduated, but I wanted to distance myself from my father's reputation and moved into Law Enforcement instead.

It isn't that I've ever disliked my father, but everyone always expected me to go into Magizoology like him, and I wanted to pave my own way. Then I got older and realised I was being pointlessly stubborn and avoiding a career I loved to prove a point.

Feat Achieved: Become a Hogwarts Professor (100cp). 100cp gained.

Celestial Points, the fuel for my system. So this is how I get them? I feel my power reach out into something, latching onto something and drawing it into the forefront of my mind.

[Haunted Manor, Priceless Land] - 400cp, 300cp needed.

Leylines, the veins of the planet, are highly coveted by mages due to their immense sources of magical energy. You happen to not only have a firm claim on one such area, but also own an elegant European-style mansion straight out of a fairy tale located right on top of it. It's more than simply luxurious and classy in ways that would make aristocrats green with envy; it's also so loaded with magical assets and defences that it would be suicide for most mages to pursue you into it. Not to mention the massive library full of information about magecraft of your choice, including both theory and spells. While traps on the level of floating mists that can banish people into mirror worlds abound for those you do not authorise to visit, the forest outside's good health can enhance your ritual magic, too. Furthermore, as long as you're inside the manor, your body will be healed as if receiving the minimal medical treatment needed to keep a young human alive and comfortable.

I can't afford this, but my power offers to 'lock' it, allowing me to save it until I can afford the purchase. Hm, if it was just the mansion, I may have turned it down or let it slip away, but the library and the leylines make it far more valuable.

I've always valued knowledge. I travelled the world in search of it (and to try and work out what I wanted to do with my life). A library of knowledge from another world? What Wizard could refuse such an offer? Especially one that comes with such powerful defences. I don't know what is going on in England, but something is brewing, and it isn't going to be pretty.

Background Registered.

Feats Achieved: Graduate at the top of your class (200cp). Become an internationally respected academic (100cp). Become a world-famous academic (200cp). Become a Hit Wizard (200cp). Capture Sirius Black (200cp). 900cp granted. 300cp spent on [Haunted Manor, Priceless Land]. 600cp remaining.

Well, it's good to know the years of travel and experience were worth something. I have written three books on Magical Creatures myself, and I suppose the Scamander name gave me plenty of fame to begin with.

My manor warps into existence in the Scottish highlands, not too far from Hogsmeade, and once more, my Sponsor's power is made clear as history warps to explain why it is there and why I own it. I inherited it from a childless old Witch after I saved her beloved pet from a life-threatening disease. When the old hermit passed away, I found out I was named the inheritor of her entire estate.

[Nayru's Love] - 400cp, 200cp remaining

A spell handed down by the Goddess, this power allows you to surround yourself with a diamond-shaped barrier. While you aren't able to attack or cast spells in this state, you can rest assured as there are almost no attacks in this world that can harm you while Nayru's Love is active.

As I just said, something is brewing, and I won't turn down divine protection. The knowledge of how to cast a spell that makes a basic shield charm seem like a piece of wet tissue floods my mind, and I don't miss that this barrier is also physical. It may protect against the killing curse, but let's not test that theory if we don't need to.

[Modern Day Kheiron] - 200cp, 0cp remaining

There are some people that are born great. You may or may not be in this category, but you have one special talent: to help others with more talent to reach even greater heights. When you come across a talented person, even if you lack a perfect knowledge of their field, you have an incredible insight into how to better their techniques and abilities. You can even communicate these insights in incredibly short lessons.

Finally, those who become your students also end up becoming quite fond of you; even if they may not fully respect you or your abilities, they will always be open to come to your aid should you need it.

While it may be less impressive than my other rolls, I don't think I can deny that this is very fitting for my new position.

Turning my Graphorn back into his true form, I continue making everything perfect as I settle into my new location. Even with the mansion I have inherited, my little hut is still extremely convenient since I can move it to wherever I am travelling, and while it isn't luxurious, it is at least better than staying in the staff quarters in the school. I find the indoors a little claustrophobic. Not uncomfortable, but I'd rather live out at the edge of the forest.

I can't keep Theseus in the school after all.

Heading inside, I make sure everything is in place and ready as I consider how to start the lessons. Starting just a week before the school year begins isn't great for preparation, but maybe my new trick can help me during the lessons.

A loud banging makes me jump, my wand snapping out of its wrist holster before I calm down and put it away, opening the door. Looking up, I raise an eyebrow at the sight of the nearly nine-foot-tall man.

"You must be Hagrid, correct?" I guess, looking up into the bearded face. I don't miss the look that crosses his face as he looks at the man who took his job.

"Aye, that's me. You're Professor Scamander, right?" Hagrid asks as I nod.

"That's me, though you can just call me Robin," I agree with a smile, seeing his gaze get distracted by Theseus. "I was planning on talking to you soon, hoping to see your lesson plans. This was all very last minute," I explain, making him nod.

"Oh, I can do that, just thought I'd come and introduce myself since we're going to be neighbours. Heard you had a Graphorn; he's a real beauty," Hagrid praises.

"Yeah, Theseus is something special. I found him when he was just a calf; poachers had killed his parents for their horns," I explain with a soft smile. "Didn't want to just leave him to meet the same fate, so I took him with me."

Hagrid scowls at the mention of poachers but brightens up as we quickly fall into a conversation about both the lessons he had planned and Graphorns. Hagrid is enthusiastic, but it becomes clear that he doesn't fully respect the danger that many creatures represent.

I get it; he's a half-giant; he's bigger, tougher and stronger than a normal person, but I can certainly see why a student got hurt in his class. I also know his name as the man who broke the Ban on Experimental Breeding that my own father worked so hard to pass, cross-breeding Manticores and Fire Crabs. Dumbledore protected Hagrid from any serious punishment, but that law exists for a reason.

Basically, he's an amateur. He is a very enthusiastic amateur, true, but as someone who has spent the last decade exploring the world of Magizoology, his inexperience and carelessness are blatant to see.

His lesson plans aren't terrible, but they're not amazing, either. That said, looking over the large man as I introduce him to Theseus, I stroke my chin.

"He's so calm," Hagrid praises, rubbing the brush along Theseus' large golden horns. "You've trained him well."

"I've had years to get him used to people," I say, giving him a scratch under the chin as his back foot beats against the ground heavily. "Say, Hagrid, I have to admit that despite my experience, I am new to teaching. If you have the time, I don't suppose you'd care to join my lessons as a teaching assistant?"

Hagrid's already bright smile grows wider at my request before he frowns gloomily.

"I'd love to, Robin, but I'm not sure the Minister would like that…" Hagrid admits, and I just wave him off.

"Oh, don't worry about that. Cornelius is an old friend; I'll talk to him. Besides, the safety of the students would still be my concern; any more accidents would fall onto my shoulders," I reassure him.

Hagrid is a staunch Dumbledore supporter. If necessary, I can push it as me befriending Hagrid to use him as an unknowing source of information on the Headmaster. I might not have been a Slytherin, but I can play the game if I need to.

Hagrid brightens up again, happily agreeing, 'if it won't be any trouble' as I make my first friend at Hogwarts. I can think of a dozen reasons to want the naive, magically resistant giant of a man on my side.

Feat Achieved: Befriend Rubeus Hagrid (100cp), 100cp gained.

Oh, well, isn't that interesting? Befriending people counts as a feat? Guess I'm going to be Mister Popular because I don't think I'll have much opportunity for action inside the school.

[Common Tongue] - Free, 100cp remaining

Wherever you are in Europe or the world at large, wherever you travel, you will have no problem speaking with the locals. This may be because all of you speak an unidentified lingua franca, a common language, or because you instinctively know all the different languages spoken around the continent by heart. In future worlds, you may be able to understand and speak the common languages you may come in contact with.

Well, I certainly won't say no to all common languages for free. French, German, Italian and every other language that is commonly spoken in Europe fills my mind, and while I doubt I'll need them at Hogwarts, it's never going to be a bad thing. I already speak several languages from my travels, but none fluently, just enough to get my meaning across. This will be of great help when my travels resume.

With 100 points remaining, I decide to roll again. It's a rather addictive feeling, in truth. I could save up my points, but if I roll something I don't want, I can just skip it and keep the points for later.

[Tarnished] - 100cp, 0cp remaining

Though your eyes do not shine with the golden light of those blessed by the Erdtree, you possess the guidance of Grace, one more suited for you. This Grace shall lead you down a path that will eventually see you acquiring great power, be it personal or political. It will not force you, but it is through walking this path that you will most easily gain strength befitting a crown.

I have never been one to put much stock into Divination; in truth, I find the art unreliable and misleading at the best of times. Something tells me that the divination powers of the Celestial System will be more dependable. My eyes turn to a golden colour, though once more history changes, making it so that I always had golden eyes, and a trail of golden grace that only I can see promises me power, should I choose to follow its guidance.

All my life, I've been left with this empty feeling, even when doing what I loved, that I was meant for more. I'm starting to understand just what that more means; in a single day since I gained my Celestial powers, my own power has grown considerably.

Where might this power lead me?

— Bonus Scene — Rose Potter – Later

As Professor Dumbledore introduced Tonks as their Defence professor, Rose took a moment to be grateful that, for once, the Defence professor wouldn't try to kill her. Probably.

"Who's the new guy?" Ron asked, making Hermoine sigh.

"Weren't you listening, Ron? That's Professor Scamander; yes, that Scamander. He literally wrote the book we used for Care last year," Hermione lectured. "His father is the Magizoologist, and Professor Scamander has been hired to take Hagrid's place as the Professor for Care of Magical Creatures."

She made a note to curse the ferret later. She'd been pissed when she heard that Hagrid had lost his job because of that little scratch, which Malfoy had only gotten because she was stupid. Still, Hagrid was happily chatting with the somewhat youngish-looking new professor.

Hermione had started one of her lectures on Professor Scamander and how experienced he was, but her mind was elsewhere. She already knew Professor Scamander was going to be here because she'd overheard Sirius talking about him with Professor Lupin. Robin Scamander was the Hit Wizard who'd disarmed and stunned Sirius all those years ago.

Sirius wasn't holding a grudge or anything; he even agreed that Robin had arrived to find Sirius standing around an exploded street and corpses, cackling like a madman, saying he'd have stunned first as well; it was the Ministry who'd skipped the 'ask questions later' step of the process.

No, what she was interested in was the fact that Sirius said that Robin used to be a deadly Hit Wizard, one of the best, despite his young age at the time. He was a few years ahead of her parents and the other marauders and could apparently do wonders with even the most basic spells when he graduated.

Voldemort wasn't going to stay hidden forever; she needed to get stronger, and she'd heard people at Grimmauld Place say that Newt Scamander, Robin's father, was an old friend of Dumbledore's who had even helped against Grindelwald.

As she stared, the golden-eyed man turned and spotted her, looking at her curiously as she quickly looked down at her plate. There was something intense about those eyes and how they almost seemed to glow, but the older man turned back to the other Professors quickly.

Author's Note: I'm unsure if this will go anywhere, but I liked the idea and decided to obey the muse and write chapter one for my snippets thread. It's not going into the cycle until it hits five chapters, and I decide I like it enough to make it a full fic. Hey, that's what the Snippets thread is for, right?

I held a vote for Harry's gender. It instantly went to 95% for Female. It felt wrong to have Harry be female and not make Draco female as well, so Draco got dragged along for the ride.

Beans' Note: Unsure which to be happier about, new Hogwarts story or more Guild lore. Not remotely surprised that voters went for more female characters, honestly shocked they manage to do anything else, the amount of thirst they're packin'.

I am entirely motivated by praise and interaction, so leave a review, and I'll probably write faster. I do read every review/comment, because it gives me the happy brain chemicals and motivates me to write more. My body is a machine that turns positive reviews into new chapters.

I have a Patreo n, where my supporters can vote on which fics get bonus chapters each cycle and have access to advance chapters, up to ten chapters ahead of the public release. Patreo n is also five chapters ahead and plat/diamond tier have voting rights for my Quest. Feel free to check it out.

I also set up a Subscribe Star as well, more or less just as a backup/test to see which I prefer. The chapters are available on Discord if you're a Patreo n and on the site directly on Subscribe Star due to the different site rules, so if you don't use Discord or have issues finding the chapters, Subscribe Star is the better choice.
