Capítulo 11: Sealed deal
Aurora immediately jumped away from him then stared at him with wide eyes.
"I'm sorry I didn't know I was that close to you" Xavier frowned.
"You say sorry a lot, why?" Aurora furrowed her eyebrows at the sudden change of topic.
"Because it was my fault?" She was confused by the question. Xavier hummed then closed his eyes.
"I'm getting tired, little wolf" Aurora gulped then nodded before moving closer to him.
"Right, I'm sorry… erm" She was about to pick up the scissor and comb that had fallen out of her hand when she hurriedly moved away from him when Xavier grabbed her wrist.
She turned to him with wide eyes and was about to ask what he was doing when he spoke;
"Stop being awkward, it's making me uncomfortable" She froze. Was she acting awkward? She hadn't realized but she couldn't be blamed though because he was gorgeous. Being so close to someone as handsome as him made her nervous and she was sure anyone else would react the same.
"I'm sorry, I've just… I've just never been so close to the opposite gender before except my father but he doesn't count" Xavier tilted his head at her as he blinked his eyes lazily.
"So a guy or man has never touched you before?" Aurora furrowed her eyebrows at his questioned.
"Touch me? I don't get what you mean" Xavier stared at her with a wicked glint in his eyes.
"Well you're underage so I can't tell you what I mean" Aurora frowned. Underage? She would be eighteen next week.
"I'm not underage. Seventeen is legal in some packs" Xavier raised his eyes with amusement.
"Well to me, you're just a little cub that hasn't stopped suckling its mother's breast" Aurora gasped.
"Just because you're a hundred years old…."
"I'm eight hundred and fifty nine years old actually" Aurora's mouth dropped wide open.
"But you don't even look that older than me," Xavier scoffed.
"I'm the ruler of the supernatural realm, little wolf" She pursed her lips.
"Well it doesn't matter. In my eyes you don't look a day over twenty one so I'm going to forget you're an old man" Xavier raised an eyebrow at her then let out a chuckle which made Aurora's eyes brightened.
"Did you just laugh because of me? Does that mean you're trusting me now or warming up to me?" The smile immediately slipped off Xavier's face.
"Trust? That word is nothing but a facade. I don't trust anyone and I don't expect anyone to trust me" Aurora frowned. She could feel him closing off again and she couldn't let that happen. They were finally getting somewhere.
"What can you possibly lose from trusting me? You're already a prisoner here, you're an immortal so that means I can't kill you so what do you have to lose?" Xavier stared at her for a while then he tilted his head.
"What about you? If I decide to trust you? Will you trust me back? You have everything to lose. Your life, your family, your pack. Do you really want to trust me?" Aurora stared into his eyes for a while and she didn't know if she was just thinking too much but his eyes…. It felt like he was begging her…. Pleading with her not to trust him. Why?
She took a deep breath then nodded at him.
"I believe everyone can change and I want to believe I can trust you so I'm going to give you a chance" Xavier shook his head then turned away from her.
"I'm not a good person, Aurora. I've never been a good person and you trying to tell yourself otherwise, trying to find the good in me is practically useless Because all there's in me is darkness. Right now, I'm just waiting for it to swallow me up whole" With the way he spoke, Aurora suddenly felt sorry for him. Being betrayed by his brother and lover must have been very heartbreaking for him. Two people he must have trusted so much betrayed him.
She took a deep breath then placed her hand on his biceps and Xavier immediately stiffened.
"Remember? I promised you I was going to make you feel human again. Yes, all there is in you might be darkness now but just think of me as your light that's going to guide you through the darkness and it doesn't matter what you say, I choose to trust you" Xavier raised up his chin slightly as stared at her. His gray eyes were so dark and empty that it made Aurora feel herself getting lost in them.
"And if I break your trust? Will you still be my light? Will you still see the good in me?" Aurora frowned as she stared at him then she took a deep breath before nodding.
"Yes, I'll still be your light but don't you dare break my trust. I can be very vicious when I want to be" A small smile played at the side of his lips.
"I don't doubt you. What if you break my trust? What can I do to you?" Aurora pursed her lips.
"You'll stop giving me your blood" Xavier clicked his tongue then shook his head.
"I don't think I have a choice in that matter. I'm a prisoner here, remember?" Aurora bit her lower lip.
"Then you can take my life if you want to" Xavier raised an eyebrow at her with surprise written on his face.
"Are you sure about that?" Aurora nodded.
"Yes, because I know I'll never break your trust. I'm a very trustworthy person, you know" Xavier stared at her for a while then smirked.
"I know a better way to guarantee that you won't betray my trust" Aurora furrowed her eyebrows and was about to ask how when Xavier grabbed her hand and pulled her closer.
Aurora gasped as she fell on his lap. She glanced up at him with wide eyes.
"What are you…" Xavier pressed his lips on hers before she could complete her sentence.
Aurora immediately stiffened. Her mind immediately went blank and she didn't know how to react.
After a second, Xavier pulled away then stared into her eyes like he was waiting for something. As if regaining her senses, she jumped away from him and let out an ear chilling scream.
"What…. What did you just do?!" She yelled as she raised up her fingers and touched her lips. They still felt hot but she was sure they weren't as hot as her cheeks.
Xavier just silently stared into her eyes then suddenly a smile appeared on his face.
"I sealed our deal. Now, I can fully trust you little wolf"....
