Seth felt as if the air had left his lungs as the realization hit him. He stared at the young man, mouth agape and his mind short-circuiting.
Delilah, on the other hand, whipped her head towards Lucas.
Her mouth was also hung open, however, she noticed something different.
"Lucas?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper as she took a deep breath, her mind racing with too many thoughts to even form words.
Lucas only responded with a soft, calming smile, something that neither Delilah nor Seth had ever seen from their youngest son.
"Yes, Madam. Lucas Wang," he said, enunciating his surname better and clearer before anyone could mistake him for someone else.
Meanwhile, Rex, Zeke and Stellar stood on the side, their smiles widening at the Huangs' reaction.
They were proud of Lucas for introducing himself as one of them, in front of the very people who had cast him out on a bitter winter day.
"If I say that things are hard with a crying face, will it get better?
If I cry and say it hurts, who will have a hard time?"
