Commands given by the central hive to the swarm were kept minimal and only used needed information that the swarm needed and not any useless extra details.
Instructions were simple.. Approach, Scan, Scout, Re-group, then if the threat was low or minimal they would attack in a strategic formation.
The swarm haunted its approach 321.7 kilometres away before sending 2 runners ahead to scan the planet.
The swarm began to act its plans ahead of time forming squads to attack at different angles of the planet when the moment was ready. Scout swarms may not be as large or as powerful as Army Swarms but they very capable of doing things on their one.. besides Army swarms were mainly used against large scale threats.
The Swarm awaited the 2 runners sent but neither returned. The time a runner only needed was around 3 minutes for great results but it was close to 11 minutes already.
[Protocol: 57] a mechanical buzz announced.
Throughout the machine minds of the sentinels and 18 remaining runners they all went into defensive actions in response to the sound.
A large robotic machine similar to the sentinel but much bigger and much more fiercer approached from within the swarming body of the sentinels.
It's tentacles reached hundreds of meters long capable of fully wrapping itself around the Empire State Building with ease.
Apart from its large size he only other noticeable difference between it and the sentinels was large spikes protruding from its main body.
Each glowed a slight red with energy being emitted.
This was the alpha commander of this swarm in charge of taking in orders from the hive mind and relaying them to the rest of the swarm.
It's eyes full of killing intent but with no emotion.
Flicking one of its tentacles towards the planet a small spark could be seen escaping from the tip of the tentacle.
The blue spark dashed towards the planet and exploded onto its atmosphere upon impact.
However, not damaging the planet but instead used as a status check to search for the 2 runners ent by the swarm.
They were both found destroyed with many burnt marks on the main frame of their robotic bodies.
The runners body was categorised into 2 groups of there being ground units for planet invasion and air units mainly used in space invasions.
Such air units were used in this swarm with their long limb like appendages each holding specific uses in travelling through space as to not float aimlessly in space.
The remains of the 2 runners were severely damaged with multiple limbs torn off and the head of both runners were torn off revealing its mechanical insides.
The alpha looked emotionless as it searched for the being or thing that did such a thing.
In the space near the planet the remains of the runners floated around a shining figure which appeared in the status check.
The figure of this being was odd as it had 8 winged shaped appendages protruding from its back.
Upon closer inspection the figure appeared humanoid with female like features appearing almost nude in which a robe covered the reproductive parts of the female humanoid.
The female appeared extremely fatigued and tired as it's body held many wounds and red liquids seeping from each wound.
The alpha appeared interested as a humanoid had been able to defeat 2 runners but not without its consequences.
The humanoid figure slowly held herself up and turned to look directly at the swarm kilometres away.
The female was shocked upon seeing the hundreds of sentinels and few runners flying around an even larger being all staring at her with killing intent.

Feeling fear for the first time in forever I look back at the 2 unknown organisms.
She remembered a minutes ago
In her domain above the planet below she felt 2 unknown beings suddenly appear within her aura.
The power both held was immense making her almost buckle her knees.
Shuffling her wings Fiona closed both eyes before opening both again to reveal herself in the space above her planet.
Looking into the deep parts of space she saw the 2 figures approach in front of her.
The body of each was completely unknown to her.
She slowly drew her log spear from behind her beginning to ready herself for battle.
The 2 figures of multiple limbs with red eyes suddenly shook before rushing out to attack her stomach.
She quickly drew out her spear quickly and blocked both of their attacks with grace.
Counterattacking one of the beings she blew it back far from her but it quickly came back in a few seconds as if nothing happened.
Both figures slowly rotated around her before one of them changed their attack method and struck her wrists.
The strike slid past her long spear and directly hit the target.
Feeling the pain Fiona clenched her hand and saw the blood seep from her body.
Shocked beyond belief that there was a being capable other than gods to injure her in a long time she took his more seriously.
Quickly spinning around she dashed at the attacker who slit her writers and sliced through one of its multiple limbs.
The creature did not flinch or jerk but instead rushed away before returning in a new position to attack.
(These things don't feel pain?!) Fiona wreathed and steadied herself before noticing the other creature attack her legs.
Each time they struck they kept getting quicker.
Fiona couldn't keep up with the speed each time getting hit by each attack with her wounds building up each time as well.
Holding her spear with blood and tears she said something under her breath before the spear emitted a bright light striking both creatures.
This was the very power that destroyed the demon king threat centuries and centuries ago.
However, strong it may be the cost for her magical supply increased leaving her exposed.
Fortunately, she was able to slay the 2 creatures.
Flying over to one of the defeated creatures she investigated its remains.
Instead of finding organs or bodily functions that every living creature would have this creature posed nothing but a metal interior.
Shocked at the scene she was disgusted but also skeptical.
How had such a machine come to be?
She didn't believe it was possible for such a powerful product of an unknown entity to be made.
Feeling the presence of someone or something watching her, she looked to the source of it.
What she saw was a large mass of red dots and squid like creatures with a few of the ones she had just fought flying around a large creature that was staring right at her.
