"Mek!" He called out to me, but I didn't stop. Not to acknowledge his call, neither was it to stop.
I raced toward my room to prevent him from seeing the tears that welled in my eyes.
"Mek!" He called again before I continued to run up the stairs.
And the next thing I felt, was a hand that snaked around my waist.
"Let me go!" I tried to hit his hand.
However, he didn't budge at all.
He tightly held on to my waist as if afraid to let go.
"Let me go, Fern!" I struggled, as tears freely fell from my eyes. "Let me go."
"But I would rather not do that, Mek. You've got to listen to me, Mek. I didn't mean the words like that. I—"
I back kicked him on his legs, and get let go of me.
Free, I dash to the door, but he was fast enough to catch me and prevent my run.
"Let go of me, Fern!"
