Capítulo 5: Chapter 5

As the lady and the maid went out to the town to buy some dresses, Lady Elsa was still thinking of confessing to Ann and Ann was still confused with the relationship with the princess. Both think what to do.

Ann looks out the window as the carriage rises, while the princess reads a book, but she looks at Mary as she notices that she is upset. She eventually realized that she had begun to despise her. It's been two weeks since she wrote a letter to express her feelings. Even though she used to talk with her every time Ann served the lady, she was silent and didn't say much after her visit from the party the day before. Nothing but silence could be heard.

It was as if Mary Ann had vanished from within her heart, leaving a gaping hole in its place. Her chest began to hurt. Uncontrollable tears began to flow before she knew what was happening.

"My lady, are you okay?" Ann inquires. "Oh yes, I'm reading this book, so it's emotional." The Princess responds.

Elsa wiped her tears away with a handkerchief and rubbed the skin around her eyes. My heart was slowly withering as the tears overflowed, as if her eyes had dried out.

"Here, my lady, have some water." Mary hands over a flask.

Elsa sips as she sees her; she begins to realize that Mary may have thought of her as her master rather than a friend. Is it strange that she have a crush on her? She must be thinking that because Mary is a commoner and the lady is a noble, they will not be a good match, and that it would be an insult to the Canterbury family because the daughter is in love with a female.

She had assumed that love was all about happiness and sweet feelings, but for it to be so heartbreaking and painful...

Perhaps she won't be able to return to being friends with Mary and will instead begin to consider what she is destined to do. Marry a man who appeals to her mother and bear an heir. She recalls the duchess discussing marrying her to the Duke of East Anglia in order to maintain connections, but she didn't like it. Mary Ann was what she desired.

Those happy moments are like a fleeting dream, and are leaving her with hopelessness that she can't do anything about. Even with all these emotions, her voice will never reach her, she felt those were her overflowing tears. Her tears overflowed so much my handkerchief is soaked.

When Mary sees the lady, she, too, is afraid to respond because the duchess may throw or severely punish her and the lady if she agrees to her love. She is afraid to express her emotions because she, too, feels the spark of confessing with her. As she sees the lady cry, she notices that she is beautiful and graceful, and she admires her personality, but she is afraid to express her feelings. She wishes to touch her and kiss her on the cheek while patting her because she adored the lady's hair when she brushed it.

Days flew by like arrows. The date had passed, and summer had begun. There had been no romantic connection between them. Even though the princess knew she wouldn't come every day and that they would just be master and servant, she wished she would ask her about the letter to Mary. She considered going to meet her in person.

She should be in her quarters right now so she can truly confess her love to her.

"Mary, I'm confessing my love for you today and am ready to flee with you. Even if my title as a noble is taken away, I will always be there for you."

The more she thinks about it, the more she feels like she's going to fall into the gaping hole in my heart. She wants to go back to the time when we were like connecting with each other and talk with her again. She wishes to laugh alongside her. Now that she thinks about it, she wonders how much warmth Mary Ann has given me. Her heart, which had lost its warmth, began to cool and freeze like ice. Even though her body is melting like ice because she wants to know whether Mary likes her or not, her heart felt cold and numb.

She imagined herself and Mary Ann in a small cottage filled with flowers, with a terrier as their pet, watching the sunset. She knew it wasn't real because she'd been having the same dream for a while. Even more so with the good memories.

When she went to the quarters, she couldn't find Mary; when she inquired, she learned that Mary had gone to the village to care for her sick mother.
