I suddenly woke to lots of noise, I questioned why it was so loud but then, I realized today was the day of the party, but before that, I have to do my healing herb exam. Exams always make me nervous, though I don't know why I always do the best.
I walk into the closet and chose something to wear for the day. "Good Morning April. Are you ready for today?" Clarity questioned as she walked into my room. I walk out of my closet all dressed as well as with my hair combed and curled.
"Good Morning! As ready as I'll ever be." I answer. "I'll be there at the party if you need anything, but for now your breakfast is ready." Clarity smiled. I nodded in response. Clarity left the room and before I went to breakfast I grabbed my purse, so I can go to the marketplace to shop for more herbs after I eat. I walked out of my room and down the staircase into the dining hall.
Surprisingly I was the first one to sit at the table. I took out my healing study book to take more mental notes of spells and medicine, as Spring and Ray sat at the table. "Good Morning April." Ray and Spring said in unison. "Morning," I said. "Don't you have your healing exam today?" Spring asked. "Ya, I do. I'm going to get some flowers and leaves after breakfast." I exclaimed.
"I'm proud of you April, as a kid, I wouldn't want to do all that training to be a healing specialist." Spring laughed. Ray nodded in agreement with Spring. I can see how they feel.
Being a healer does take training and a few years, but I want to help people. I hate seeing people in pain or dying. "I want to help people, pain hurts, and nobody should like feeling pain, I don't want anyone to get hurt.
So if I become good at healing I can save people." I explain. "That's very kind of you April," Ray said. "Where are father and mother?" I questioned.
As I said that, Graham came into the room with more maids putting down our food. "They are going to a meeting today with the council to make sure everyone can come to the ball tonight, so they said you can go ahead and eat without them," Graham stated.
The three of us nodded our heads in response. Stuff like this happening is exactly why I don't want Spring to be queen right now. I'm still a teen who needs her big sister. I need to get my brain off of that. No matter what happens she promised me she would still be there.
So after I was done eating I waved goodbye to Ray and Spring and went out the door. I passed the guards at the front gate and waved bye to them too. I guess it's my daily routine whenever I go out. I walk through the village to get to my favorite herb garden shop near the beach.
I love seeing my kingdom all happy and cheerful, even if it's morning and people are lazy to get up. I see the shop and I go through the door. "Hello Princess April, can I help you?" Herbalist Nelly said.
"Hello Nelly, can I have some oransi petals, some crystal water, and red brook stems? I request.
These items will help me with ointment, liquids for children, including pain resistance pastes. Nelly nodded and walked into the backroom to go grab my items. As I am standing at the counter, I hear the door behind me open.
As I turn around I see a boy around my age. He looks familiar in some way. I try not to look like I'm staring at him and studying his face. Now I remember him, I saw him walking outside the store where I and Summer shopped yesterday.
Why would he be at this store? "Oh hello, Princess April!" He kneeled. I guess he's never seen me before because I always tell the people who see me to not kneel to me when I'm just out in the village, it just feels weird to me.
"Hello, no need to kneel, I don't like it when people do that to me when I'm just here for no real royal duties." I said. "I see." The boy answered. The boy got back on his feet and turned to me.
"What are you doing here then? Don't you have people who can get your things for you?" He said intriguingly. "I'd rather do these types of things myself, not have someone else do things I should be able to do," I explained. "That is very sweet Princess." He stated.
I smiled at him, at least now he sees I'm not a useless princess who can't do anything for herself. A royal family shouldn't be there just to control people, they should be there to help their kingdom with what they can do.
"Here you go April," Nelly said as she gave me the herbs I had asked for. "Thank you so much, wish me luck on my test!" I exclaimed, walking out the door. The boy and Nelly waved me goodbye as I walked back home to get set up. "Isn't she pretty Hunter?" Nelly asked.
"Um, ya." I arrived back at the castle, going through the gate my guards bowed for me. I walked to the other side of the garden where my healing study is.
I learned all of the antidotes and healing spells in here. I organized all my herbs in their right containers and drawers to get ready for my teacher to come to the castle. I headed out once again and just stood at the front gate waiting for her.
I then see a carriage coming and stopping at the front gate. The door then opens as I see my teacher walkout. "Hello, Princess April." Healer Willow. I curtsy towards my teacher. "Hello!" "Are you ready? Have you been keeping up with your studies?" Willow questioned.
"Yes I have, you know I want to learn as much and as quickly as possible," I said as we walked to the back garden. We entered my study and sat down at my table. "May we begin?" Willow questioned.
"Let's begin." I smiled. Master Healer Willow, continued to name different types of wounds and poisons, in return, I named the medicine, herbs, and enchantments needed to cure the poison and heal the injury.
Part one of the test is over, now is for me to actually make the medicine. She gave me a list of the different remedy's for me to make. I grabbed all the floral herbs I needed and got set up. I put my hair in a ponytail and began to cut the leaves and mix the crystal water I got from Nelly.
I made several different pastes for cuts and wounds and put them from faster developing to slowest. The final part of this examination is my spells, healing spells are for ruptures of bones or really anything not on the skin.
The main ones Master Willow will be testing me on, organ, deparalyzing, and mental enchantments. She has brought along some hurt birds and fish from the creak for me to heal. After I healed them she has paralyzed her own arm and leg for me to deparalyze, but as soon after, she put herself to sleep with sleep paralysis.
I woke her up almost instantly, which shocked her. She was quite pleased and happy so far, but the hard part is now the mental enchantments. Those require total concentration and strong steady magic flow from my own brain and body. But there's not an easy way to test out those spells, you'd need somebody with a mental problem, like amnesia, or someone using a memory manipulation spell.
Lucky for me though my teacher knows a memory manipulation spell. "Ok, time for your mental healing test. I'm gonna erase a small memory of today from me, you have to restore it." Willow instructs. I nodded at her instructions.
She was still on her chair, waiting for me to finish my examination. I made my way through her brain with my magic and searched for any missing parts of memories. In the brain, memories are stored in one section, and when memory is missing, there's something like a chunk gone.
I searched for a spot missing memory bubbles, which is what I call it, and finally found it in the back of her brain. I use my magic to find a chunk of magic drifting away in the brain that has memory enchanting magic on it, showing that it was taken away.
I finally found it and used my magic to pull it towards the hole. I spell it in place and move my hands away from Mrs. Willows's head. I see her slowly open her eyes as she hands me a paper from her bag.
"Congratulations April, you're finally at the rank of Healing Prodigy."
"Yes!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. "That means, I only have the last rank left. Healing Specialist." I said with a determined look.
"You'll get there for sure April, it's only a matter of time," Willow said. I nodded as I saw her out of my study and into her carriage. "Will I be seeing you at the party tonight?" I asked her.
"I believe I have nothing else today, so yes." With that, her carriage started to move away from the castle. I went back to my study and began to clean up on my desk, and framed my Healing Prodigy Award.
While I was wiping my counter, I heard a ding from my watch. It looks like Winter is calling me. "Hey, what's up?" I said. "Hey, my parents want me to go over there to bring some papers for tonight, is that ok?" Winter questioned.
"Ya that's ok, but this time doesn't forget your freeze field, we don't want you passing out and overheating," I told her, as I walked back into the castle. "Ok I'm coming, and come on that was an accident, one time!"
"Whatever you say," I said with a smirk and then we both hung up the phone.
I entered my room and organized some items for tonight's party until I heard the guards open the front door. I understood that meant Winter had arrived. I headed out of my room and down the stairs to see my friend with her freeze field around her at the doorway.
"Hey!" I smiled. "Hey, so here is the guest list of people coming from Winter."
"Alright, thanks! I'll be sure to get this to my parents when they get back from their meeting." I said.
"Will you be coming tonight?" "Ya, I'll be attending. Do you have the safety precautions ready? A lot of royalty and high-rank people all in one area will be very dangerous for the kingdoms." Winter announced.
"Remember Winter, everyone has known that ever since the beginning of all of the seasons. We all remember what happened 2 months ago. I mean what a disaster, we've got everything down. Besides if something were to happen, since we are all in one spot, we can all defeat it all together!"I say with excitement. I mean it would be cool to have everyone show off their power.
"Understandable, it would be incredible. I haven't gotten to see my own parents' power my whole life so it'd be interesting." Winter answered. I and Winter continued to talk about the party tonight until we heard a rustling noise outside my front door.
We looked outside in confusion and saw a man out of breath. "Can I-" I stopped suddenly. "Ace? What are you doing here?" Winter asked.
"You know him?
"Ya, he's my training instructor." Oh, so this man is like shade for me. I wonder if they know each other. "It's nice to meet you, Princess April." Ace bowed. "Good afternoon!" I curtseyed. "Well? Are you gonna answer my question?" Winter questioned.
"Right, of course. I'm here to want to see if you would like to do some last-minute training before the party tonight?" Ace suggested. "Oh ya sure, why not," Winter stated. "Would you like to join us Princess April? I'd love to see your skill." Ace exclaimed.
I thought about the question and didn't see anything wrong with it. "Sounds fun, why not," I answered. "To save you guys the trip back, how about we train here."
"Thank you for the offer, Princess. How about it Winter?" Ace said. "Might as well." She said willingly. I gestured them down to the training area so they could get ready and understand the area.
Winter summoned her weapon to the side of her waist which was a thin white and blue sword. "I haven't seen you fight in a while." I smiled. "It's been a while since we've been on a mission, that's for sure," Winter said annoyed.
"What weapon do you use Princess?" Ace asked. "Oh I use a bow and arrow, but I'm going to try and refrain from using it," I answered.
I want to test myself in martial arts on winter trainer. I've never seen him before. "Do you guys transform in your training?" I questioned. "Well we do both, so do you want to?" Winter asked. "No, it's ok, I think I want to train with my skills." "Ok, you guys can make the first move." Ace suggested. Alight, let's see what he can do against two strong Princesses.
