Me and Autumn prepared our spells and Mrs. Selene gave us a countdown, "In three, two, one, start."
Finishing up my enchantment, a sphere now floats above my hands. I continued to add more magic into the sphere and kept it confined. The sphere stays in my hands full of power, this could easily shoot someone across the room and highly injure a person's organs. I need to be careful when handling my magic.
I control the sphere and look up at Autumn and saw he was finished as well. What he conjured up looked very powerful, who knows what that could do to someone. "What do we do now?" Axel questions.
"You must now combine both your spells together, depending on which is the strongest, that spell will stay in its full form." Mr. Maple stated.
I glance over to Autumn and look down at my glowing sphere. I hope it's powerful enough, but not too much to over-dominate his power. "You sure we can do that in this room? It might break a lot of things and maybe blast us." I said concerningly.
"The walls have been enhanced, everything will be fine, and as for us, I've got a protection spell ready." Mrs. Selene says reassuringly.
Trusting her I prepared my ball of energy. "You ready to lose Dawn?" Axel teased. "We'll see about that." I smiled.
I walked back slowly to make space between me and Autumn for us to run at each other, moving at high speeds builds up the power of the sphere too. Autumn notices my plan and copies what I'm doing.
I can tell the instructors are impressed with us, I can tell normally people just push the enchantment together but this is a pretty easy technique that people could just guess.
"On my mark," I shouted getting ready to run. "In Three, two, one."
I sped up my pace and ran straight towards Autumn. The minute me and he were about a few centimeters away, I swung my hand in front of Autumn. I was in the midst of trying to hit him but instead, he blocked it with his own sphere. We both look up and shove our magical spheres against each other.
We fought for space and dominance and kept our spheres of energy in a firm grip. It looked as if the outer layer of my sphere started to shatter, so to contain the power inside it I attempted to close it back up while still keeping an eye on Autumn.
As I was doing that Autumn was pushing me back, which is expected since he has more physical strength than I do but I wasn't about to back down now. I stood my ground by using a friction enhancement to stop me from slipping.
Both me and Autumn stood in our place, both of our spheres were still intact but not for much longer.
I could tell Autumn's sphere was close to exploding. I took this advantage and continued pushing firmly against Autumns and finally reached a breaking point. His sphere shattered and was no longer intact. The explosion of power that had exploded pushed me and everyone in the room back with its power.
I stood up from the ground and showed my nondisturbed sphere of magic and smiled, "Looks like I won."
My team cheered and celebrated loudly. "We knew you'd win!" Hazel shouted.
"Nice try Axel," I commented. "I was going easy on you." He said. I mean we both were to be fair. "I bet you were," I said, sounding unconvinced. "Thank you, Dawn and Axel, that was a great example." Mrs. Selene complimented.
Me and Autumn walked away from the front for someone else to go first and stood at the back of the room.
"That was very well done, would someone like to go next? You don't need to have a competition with someone, you can just prove it on your own." Mr. Maple stated.
To be honest, the whole competition part was a pretty good idea, it's a great way to compare people's power levels, as long as they are at their 100% and trying their very best.
I look towards my team and see Hazel and Hunter talking. Maybe they'll go against each other. Not going to lie, that'd be one interesting fight.
Just as I predicted Hazel and Hunter volunteer to participate next. Hunter and Hazel made their way to the front and faced each other.
As the two were readying their spells Autumn whispers in my ear, "Who are those two by the way? Are they part of your team?"
"Ya, the guy's name is Hunter and the girl is Hazel, she's really nice, I like her," I replied.
"Oh I see, Hazel is very pretty," Autumn stated. I looked back at the front and his words rang through my head. I guess she is really pretty. My heart sped up thinking about it.
Hazel and Hunter finished prepping their enchantments and began. They took a couple of steps back, and after that Mrs, Selene counted down, "One, two, three, go!"
The two teenagers sprinted towards each other in unison and shoved their spells at one another's. Once I saw the two balls of energy clash I could easily see that there was an obvious difference between them.
Hunter's focused more on power, to break anything else in its way, but Hazel thought to make hers more sturdy and thick on the outer shell, so it would be harder to breakthrough.
So far this has been a pretty even match. Hazel looks like she's gaining more strength, maybe she used an enhancement just like me.
She is pushing Hunter and it shocked me and Autumn. Autumn didn't look all that stunned, to be honest, more like impressed and I felt a pang of anger. 'Looks like Hazel has both looks and power. Autumn would probably agree.' I thought, a frown formed on my face, I took a moment to calm myself and paid my attention back to the duel.
My anger lingered as I continued watching the spell battle in front of me. Why was I mad?
Hazel was soon out of magic and was out of stamina. She must've been trying to keep her ball intact while attempting to break Hunter's. It's pretty hard to multitask with magic, especially since we are not transformed.
Hunter took this opportunity to start pushing more towards Hazel and it's making Hazel tired. She doesn't seem that she can keep up the defense.
After a couple more seconds Hunter destroyed the ball and flew forward losing balance at his feet.
The ball didn't have as much power that Autumns had so we didn't get pushed back.
Hunter fell towards Hazel and Hunter ended up on top of her. They stared at each other in shock and a bit of blush was shown on their cheeks but then they quickly laughed it off. Soon after the whole room joined in.
Me and Autumn stood there amused by the result and giggled at one another.
Hunter helped Hazel up and they walked to the back standing next to me and Autumn. "That was a good try, Hazel." I complimented. "Thank you, Dawn, I tried giving my all, but I guess I'll have to work harder next time."
"Awesome work Hunter." Axel cheered. "Thanks, I'm pretty tired right now." "Speak for yourself there Hunter, I barely have any magic left." Hazel teased.
All of us laughed at Hazel's words and agreed with her statement. "Awesome work Hazel, Hunter." Mr. Maple congratulated.
We finished through the rest of the students and Slay's exam was very entertaining. A cocky boy from Autumn's team wanted to take him on but wasn't anywhere close to winning.
Slay won with a smooth blast towards the man's spell and it broke almost instantly. We tried warning him that Slay was strong and not one to mess with but he had too much pride and didn't take the warning.
Me, Autumn, Hazel, and Hunter talked about our last couple trials before this one while we waited for the headmaster to tell us to switch exam rooms.
Hazel and Hunter kept talking about my last physical combat exam and told every single detail and how impressed they were at first. Autumn acted surprised and that he knew I could do it, but we both knew we'd knock that test out of the flower field easily.
Us royals give it our best, well in this case as much best we could give. We finally heard the speaker turn on and heard the principal talk, "Hello everyone! It's time for your next examination."
"Ok guys time to go!" Mrs. Selene yelled to her group. "Follow me, my group!" Mr. Maple instructed.
We all walked to the doorway and faced different directions. "It was nice seeing you Dawn, I'll see you after the trials are over, or maybe I'll see you again in the hall or something," Axel said happily.
"I hope I will, but when it comes to scores, we'll see who wins the most points." I smiled.
"I'll see you at the top Dawn. Oh and don't forget about our other friends, they're still in this as well." Autumn stated. I forgot about Summer and Winter, I'm still going up against them too.
"I'll see you later Axel, promise me to go all out?" I said while holding out my pinky. It was nice seeing him, even if it was a different face, it was still Autumn underneath.
"Promise." Said Autumn as he wrapped his pinky around mine.
I walked with Hazel and Hunter and prepared myself for the rest of the exams. I'm going to win against my friends.
