Ray knew that he was up to a very awkward conversation, so he steeled himself and responded sending a glare to his father who was smiling at him innocently.

"Yes this is Leilah Hutton's phone and under some circumstances, I'm holding onto it for the moment. May I ask who it is,"

"I'm Kayle Raymond a friend and former colleague of Leilah's. Is she okay? Can I talk to her?" The other man replied with an eloquent formality that Ray couldn't help but find familiar.

"Unfortunately, not at the moment. We had an accident as we were driving back to her place and we're now at the hospital,"

"Good lord! Is she okay? Please tell me she didn't..." The man on the phone panicked

"She's still alive, but she's unconscious at the moment,"

"What hospital is it? I'm on my way."

Ray told the other man the hospital address knowing that he was risking it because he didn't know whether they were close enough to share this kind of information or not.
