Capítulo 14: First time in a village

Standing up from the snow three figures in the harsh morning cold could be made out. In the distance, the train is at full speed shooting like a bullet in a single direction away from the trio. Each figure looks around at the surroundings. past the village they were heading towards maybe a mile away is the start of a large mountain range.

- 3rd pov -

Raziel, Akari, and Kahina started walking towards the village, both Raziel and Akari were dressed lighter than Kahina both using their aura to keep themself warm while Kahina was covered in multiple layers but all 3 were hiding their faunus traits through hats the clothes they wore and more.

After five minutes the trio walked into the village, with cabins that surrounded them and the sun peaking over the mountain range giving light to the land. Further, into the village, the sight of children having snowball fights and chasing after each other was revealed.

The daily lives of the adults in this village started with men and women walking out of town with large spears for fishing. having sleds pulled by huskies. These beasts were each a meter in height and transported the sleds with Huskies. These beasts are each a meter in height and have no problem transporting the sleds through the cold snow.

Walking through the village we're these people that we're more like giants holding what's hard to call a spear. Something like pillars would describe their weapons better. Wearing masks of what looks like bear skulls, they stand around 8ft tall as they slowly make their way past the children.

- Raziel pov -

Seeing all this my mind was set at ease, breathing the fresh air was calming unlike the smell of blood that once covered my body. Following behind Akari I watch as some of the locals turn to look at us. The once playful and calm atmosphere turns into one of curiosity as they watch on as we pass.

As we continue to walk into the village we reach a pub with a sign above its door having the symbol of a white nail on the wooden board above the nail the words 'White pike' were written. Walking towards the door I see the rudder lined with rubber as a way to keep the building insulated.

Lifting my hand towards the handle I pull down letting the door swing open, the feeling of hot air washes over my face. The small fire in the corner crackles away and the rest of the room is full of little daylight giving the whole building dim lighting.

Walking in and closing the door behind us to keep the heat in I see a short skinny man talking with a large and kind smile towards what I believe is his son. He has a gray bowl-cut with glasses on under the glasses a few freckles clinging onto his cheeks. His son has the same color hair but cut a lot shorter with a single braided piece going down his neck to his nape.

Akari starts walking towards them as I follow behind her the son and father pair stop talking as the father takes the boy off the counter and whispers something to the kid. The child runs off as the man turns to the rest of us giving us his best customer service smile.

Barman: "Greetings! Welcome to the white pike what can I get for you young ladies today"

Akari: "two rooms for the night, one single bed and one with two single beds, with breakfast and dinner please."

Barman: "Oh course miss the cost of the room is thirty-six liens per night and the food will cost eight liens per meal so in total that will be a hundred and sixteen liens"

After the transaction was completed we all walked over to a table with a few drinks and took a seat as Kahina kept her eyes locked onto the barman. I followed her gaze towards the man. I could see him staring right back at us, seeing us look at him, his gaze shifted away.

I turn towards Kahina and give a warm smile to comfort her to the best of my ability. In return, she gives me a crooked and forced smile back. Her eyes betray what she really is thinking as I move my chair closer and turn towards her.

Raziel: "don't worry Kahina as I promised as long as I'm about I'll always protect you for as long as you travel with us. doesn't matter from humans or Grimm."

The eyes of Kahina show happiness as she pulls my scarf over my eyes and gives me a little head chop with little to no force put into the hit. Taking the scarf off my face I see glimmers of her coming out of her shell even if for just a split second.

Kahina: "You little rascal your fifteen years too early to be fighting for me, don't worry I'll be fine"

Watching the glimpse of both hope and pain pass by her hurt, that moment sent a chill down my spine as I readjusted my scarf around my neck. After talking some more we all finished up the food and drinks they brought out.

Akari and Kahina went upstairs to get a little bit of sleep. While I wanted to look around the village as this was my first time in a place like this in this world. After much convincing, Akari agreed to it but told me not to stay out too late and not to tell anyone about me being a faunus.

leaving the building I see two groups of kids on either side of the street having 2 big walls made of snow in front of them. Seeing this my curiosity peaked. I start walking towards one of the groups. in the middle of all the children on the right side of the road is a tall boy with a red-furred cap.

Redcap kid: "Get down! Snowball unit we need at least 20 more snowballs in the next minute. Attack unit don't you dare throw randomly take your time we got this!"

watching all of this happen around was so fun, even if I was an adult I remember wanting this as a child. I walk towards the redcap kid as I tighten my hat to make sure it doesn't come off showing my ears.

Raziel: "Um, I'm new around here is there anything I can do to help"

Redcap kid: "ah the reinforcements came I've been asking for weeks damn atlas they don't pay me enough. disregard what I just said trooper you look like a crack shot go upfront and shoot! MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!"

Looking at this kid roleplay at a leader was funny as fuck, but I did as he said and ran up towards the front. Picking up snowballs I peak over the top as snowballs land into the wall right in front of me making me duck back down.

Taking a deep breath I turn back around and ready myself for the fight ahead.
