Capítulo 2: Killing Grounds

By the time Voldrak arrived at the Killing Grounds, the place was already filled with immortals from every corner of the celestial realm. Earth Immortals had raised the ground into a great terrace, ensuring every spectator had a clear view of the impending battle. The crowd was a sea of colors, with the outer immortals the most numerous, followed by the inner immortals. Voldrak even sensed a faint, almost imperceptible presence of a sovereign among them—a rare and unsettling sign that this battle held more significance than he had imagined.

Despite the thrumming energy around him, Voldrak's focus was singular. His eyes locked onto his opponent, Hugor, already standing on the opposite side of the raised platform. Hugor's gaze was intense, his posture radiating a savage readiness, his body taut like a predator ready to pounce.

Voldrak didn't hesitate. He walked forward with measured steps, exuding a calm confidence. As he approached the center of the pavilion, he was intercepted by his five companions, each stepping into his path, forming a loose circle around him. He spoke before any of them could voice their concerns.

"I've already made my decision! I'm fighting him!" Voldrak declared, his voice leaving no room for argument.

His dark eyes swept over each of them—Hydria of Water, adorned in a blue gown that clung to her curvaceous figure, her busty form accentuated by the flow of the fabric. Julivar of Air, her delicate features framed by flowing white robes that only served to highlight her innocence and purity.

Holtar of Light, the most radiant among them, her golden dress hugging her perfect curves, her beauty almost blinding, with a seductive grace that even the heavens envied, Munisex of Earth, wearing a green garment that matched her earthy essence, her voluptuous body carrying an alluring weight, and Indrano of Fire, whose fiery red robes matched the intensity of his burning spirit.

Indrano was the first to speak, shaking his head. "We're not here to stop you," he said, stepping closer to clasp a firm hand on Voldrak's shoulder. Though Indrano was tall, he did not match Voldrak's imposing size. "We're here to see you off," he added, his tone somber.

Munisex sighed, stepping closer as well, her expression laced with sadness. "We do not wish to hinder you, Voldrak. Only to wish you well," she said softly, her voice a whisper in the celestial wind.

Hydria glared at him with a mixture of worry and frustration but eventually gave a reluctant nod. Holtar's lips curved into a reassuring smile, a smile that steadied Voldrak's resolve more than any words could. But Julivar, her delicate face on the verge of tears, was the one who seemed most affected. Her slender frame trembled, and she looked as if she might break at any moment.

"Is that how little your faith in me is?" Voldrak asked, stepping closer to Julivar, his hand reaching out to comfort her, only for her to pull back just out of reach.

"I'm... I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice breaking as she lowered her head, hiding her face behind a veil of flowing white hair. Voldrak knew she meant it, her sorrow a heavy burden on his heart. He didn't want to add to her sadness, but there was no other choice.

He turned to move past Indrano, who stood directly in his path, only to be offered a small vial, its contents shimmering like liquid moonlight. Voldrak raised a brow, glancing at Indrano in question.

"It's a drop from nature's spring. Hydria found it," Indrano explained, stretching out the vial for Voldrak to take. Voldrak turned his head to Hydria, who nodded to confirm that she had indeed procured it.

"I cannot count how many drops Hugor has at his disposal, but this should help!" Indrano added, his voice filled with a mix of hope and caution.

Without hesitation, Voldrak lifted the vial to his lips, allowing the single drop to fall onto his tongue. A wave of warmth surged through him, a strange heat spreading from his throat down to the very core of his being. It was as if his body was being awakened, every cell alive with newfound energy. He handed the vial back to Indrano, feeling the power coursing through his veins.

"I'll win!" Voldrak vowed, looking at each of them in turn, a silent promise passing between them before he left them behind and walked forward. His dark robes billowed around him, his long hair lifting in the celestial breeze. He moved with purpose, each step echoing in the silence of the crowd, until he came to a full stop at the center of the pavilion, his presence commanding all attention.

He did not have to wait long. Hugor stepped forward, his massive frame cutting an imposing figure. He wielded a huge sword, its blade glinting ominously in the heavenly light. Hugor was just as tall as Voldrak, but where Voldrak's features were sharp and serene, like a scholar who had mastered the art of war, Hugor's were brutal and savage, a warrior born from the fiercest battles. His eyes were filled with a dark, primal fury, his stance radiating a raw, unrestrained power.

The two immortals faced each other, the air between them charged with a palpable tension. The crowd held its breath, waiting for the clash of titans that would decide the fate of the Outer Immortals. As they prepared to engage, Voldrak felt the eyes of the heavens upon him, and he knew that this fight would determine more than just his own destiny—it would shape the very future of their celestial realm.

There was no need for an intermediary; the match began the moment Voldrak and Hugor stepped onto the pavilion. The air was thick with anticipation, and the crowd watched in breathless silence, waiting to see who would make the first move. The two immortals inched toward each other, their eyes locked in an unspoken battle of wills.

In Voldrak's hand, a long, dark rod materialized, its surface swirling with shadows that seemed to drink in the light around it. Hugor sneered, his lips curling with disdain as he saw Voldrak's weapon. "Wielding darkness against a sword of light is foolishness!" Hugor taunted, his voice booming across the pavilion.

Voldrak's smirk was calm, almost amused. "What better weapon is there to chasten a child than a rod?" he replied smoothly, his tone dripping with confidence. The sneer on Hugor's face faltered, his smile vanishing as quickly as it had come.
