The next day after the feasts, the warriors gathered at the ships ready to sail, olaf walked with his wife and said 'you should keep a look out on the war between borg and horik I have a feeling that we will get dragged in to it sometime soon,' Astrid said 'I have the home front you should worry about attacking England and looking after our boy," Olaf smiled and said "I will, but it looks like he wants to achieve his own glory," she said "just like his father,' he looked at his wife and kissed heheh and walked to his main ship and his son entered after, he said 'set sail,' and with that a large fleet sailed to England.
It took days when the fleet reached England and Olaf directed the ships to near a city that had deep ports and would be a stratification city that would be valuable to the Vikings, when they got close the got off and the army started forming up to attack it, Olaf walked to his son with Harold and he said 'you will be part of the siege so stay near me or your uncle for now,' this made Sigurd unhappy and said 'I don't need you to protect me,' Harold spoke 'he is only looking out for you since this is your first battle you don't know the dangers,' Olaf continued 'be wise, I know you want glory and it will come with time for now just stay close,' and Sigurd went off, as the army went closer with their ladders they notice a large hole on the wall of the city and Olaf move with a large part of the army and entered and the fighting began.
Sigurd who entered saw the fighting and realized that this was very intense and was worried that he would not be able to do, but a Saxon solider ran at him and he stopped him with his sword and cut him down and looked at the first man he cut down in battle and ran in to the battle.
Olaf who was in fight notice that there was a large garrison here but this made him smile as this allowed for great battle and he run and hit Saxon with his ax and followed it by taking down two more then looked at how Ragnar was smiling and smashed the body of another Saxon solider he looked at Olaf and said 'I feel alive, no waste of strategy we just go in and crush them with strength,' Olaf smiled and continued his fights and time went as the fighting decreased and victory looked to be going to the Vikings and Olaf who looked around saw his son surrounded by Saxon soldiers and was alone and he looked at his brother and shouted "Harold!" Who looked at his brother and the finger where it was pointed and saw the crisis and they both started to cut their way to Sigurd after a short while they reach only to see the dead bodies of saxons and Sigurd unharmed, Olaf smiled and they continued fighting, but the saxons started running as they knew they lost and the Vikings cheered in victory.
After the battle they looted the city and brought their ships to the city, Olaf stood at the castle in the middle of the city and said 'this was a great victory for us,' and they cheered he continued "but the next fight will be when we go to the capital and take the kings city and make Northumbria a Viking territory all together," and their was louder cheers as Vikings loved the victory's and conquests that came, he said 'this city of York will be the capital of what I proclaim now as Daneland, and this will stay as it from now till the end of time,' they all chanted 'Olaf,Olaf,Olaf!' As they gave respect to the man who was giving Vikings glory and story's that they can tell their family's in later times and Valhalla, Olaf looked at his son and said 'I want to give my congratulations to my son Sigurd,' the son looked surprised as he looked to his father who called him to come and went to him, Olaf spoke 'he fought fiercely and even when he was alone and surrounded by Saxon fighters no sword,ax,spear or arrow was able to injure him so I name him Sigurd Ironside,' and the Vikings chanted the new title given to Sigurd and the boy in question looked and felt that this was how it felt like to be looked up to and now new he wanted more.
In the hall there was feast and Sigurd was meeting lots of Vikings who went to congratulate him on his fighting and was caught by Harold who smiled and said "haha, Sigurd ironside what a name you did well," Sigurd smiled and said 'thanks uncle,' he smiled and said "your father is looking for you," then left and the boy walked to where his father was with the other jarls and when his father saw him smiled and said "my son come sit by my side you deserve it," which he did and sat with his father and Olaf spoke " you did well on your first battle but don't let it get to your head arrogance can be dangerous remember that son,' to which he said "I know father,' when Olaf smiled and said "good since you know, we will be marching after a day of rest from what we have the is a force mustering whitby you will go with Ragnar to destroy the
army, there you'll be his second in Command," Sigurd looked shocked and looked to Ragnar who said "well boy hope you fight the same way you did here and we will have no problems,' to which he nodded, after her realized that he will not be under his father which showed that he trusted him to go out on without oversight and Olaf spoke "auslag, you and Harold will go to hexham and take the city from them,' to which she nodded too and he looked to sweyn and said 'you sweyn will take a part of the army and attack the citys of ripon and catterick and after that move to the strathclyde lands and show them that they can't mess with us they did with the saxons,' to which he smiled and nodded as this was a big task and it was given to him, " and I will move to the capital and attack the king and capture him that way we can declare Northumbria as Viking land, any questions? okay then I guess we feast and tomorrow to battle," and there was a cheer to that as there would be changes coming to England soon.
