A formless mass of shadow split apart and reformed behind Damian. Before the lad could even make a move, a shadow tendril pierced through his back, and exited from his chest,

Groaning lightly in pain, Damian willed his War Flame alive. In a brilliant flash of crimson, the flames exploded out of his body, and caught unprepared, the Shadow couldn't even voice out a cry before it was caught up in the conflagration. It died miserably.
