Capítulo 14: Chapter 14: Under Suspicion

The storm of conflict brewing around Kcreative finally reached a boiling point. Yura, Han Ko, and Albeirt found themselves increasingly frustrated and paranoid as Wang Soo's project seemed to slip further out of their grasp. Uncertainty gnawed at them, but one thing became clear—they needed answers, and they suspected Ja Hid knew more than he let on.

Suspicion Mounts

Yura paced back and forth in the sleek conference room of Kcreative, her heels clicking sharply against the polished floor. Albeirt lounged in a chair nearby, his usual smug demeanor replaced by a tense frown. Han Ko sat at the head of the table, reviewing files on his tablet.

"This doesn't add up," Yura said, throwing her hands in the air. "How is Wang Soo staying ahead of us? He should've hit a wall by now."

"Exactly," Albeirt muttered, swirling the whiskey in his glass. "He's being fed information, or we're missing something big."

Han Ko set the tablet down and leaned back, rubbing his temples. "And what about Ja Hid? He's been acting strange lately."

Yura froze mid-step, her expression darkening. "You think he's involved?"

Albeirt smirked. "Only one way to find out."

Later that evening, Ja Hid found himself cornered in Kcreative's break room. Yura, Han Ko, and Albeirt had orchestrated the encounter, positioning themselves between him and the exit.

"Ja Hid," Yura began, her voice cool and measured, "we need to talk."

He glanced at the three of them warily, holding his cup of coffee like a shield. "What's this about?"

"You know exactly what," Albeirt said, stepping closer. "You've been awfully quiet lately. Too quiet."

Han Ko crossed his arms. "We want to know what you've been up to. If you're working with Wang Soo, now's the time to come clean."

Ja Hid's heart pounded, but he forced himself to remain calm. "I've been doing my job, same as always. If you think otherwise, prove it."

Yura narrowed her eyes, studying him for any sign of deceit. "You've been distracted, Ja Hid. And you're a terrible liar."

He met her gaze, his voice steady. "I've been under a lot of pressure, like everyone else here. If that makes me look suspicious, maybe you should take a closer look at yourselves."

The room fell silent, tension crackling like static electricity. After what felt like an eternity, Han Ko sighed and gestured for Yura and Albeirt to back off.

"Fine," Han Ko said. "But we'll be watching you."

That night, Ja Hid sat alone in his apartment, the confrontation replaying in his mind. He knew Yura, Han Ko, and Albeirt wouldn't let him off the hook so easily.

With a heavy sigh, he picked up his phone and typed a message to Wang Soo:

"They confronted me today. They're not letting this go, and I can't stay actively involved without putting the project at risk. But I think this could work in our favor."

Wang Soo's reply came almost instantly:

"What are you thinking?"

Ja Hid took a deep breath before typing:

"I'll act more suspicious on purpose. Create a decoy project to lead them astray. To make it convincing, I'll cut all communication with your group for the time being. It'll keep the heat off you. Trust me, it's better this way."

There was a long pause before Wang Soo replied:

"If that's what you think is best, I trust you. But be careful."

"Always. And don't worry, I'll be back when it's safe. You've got this, boss."

Ja Hid set the phone down, a mix of determination and sadness settling over him. He had made his choice, and now it was up to Wang Soo to carry the torch.

The following morning, Wang Soo sat in the warehouse with Nan Dok, reviewing their progress. Ja Hid's absence left a noticeable gap, but Wang Soo understood his decision.

"We'll have to adjust the plan," Wang Soo said, tapping his pen against a notebook. "With Ja Hid out, we'll need to redistribute some of the tasks."

Nan Dok nodded, already scribbling notes. "I'll take on more if needed. Whatever it takes."

Wang Soo smiled faintly. "Thanks, Dok. I appreciate it."

As they worked, Wang Soo's phone buzzed with a message from Celin:

"How's everything going? Let me know if you need more support on our end."

He replied quickly:

"We're managing. Thanks for checking in. Let's catch up soon."

At Kcreative, Yura, Han Ko, and Albeirt were far from satisfied. Though they had no concrete proof of Ja Hid's involvement, their suspicions lingered.

"We need a new strategy," Yura said during another late-night meeting. "If Wang Soo's project goes public and succeeds, we're finished."

Albeirt leaned back in his chair, a sinister grin spreading across his face. "Don't worry. I've got a few tricks left up my sleeve."

Han Ko frowned. "Just make sure it doesn't backfire. We can't afford another mistake."

As the trio plotted, the rift between them and Wang Soo grew wider, setting the stage for a confrontation none of them could anticipate.

After a long day, Wang Soo stood outside the warehouse, staring at the city lights in the distance. The weight of the project and the sacrifices made by those around him pressed heavily on his shoulders.

Nan Dok joined him, holding out a bottle of water. "Boss, you okay?"

Wang Soo took the bottle and nodded. "Just thinking. Ja Hid put himself at risk to help us. I can't let him—or anyone else—down."

"You won't," Nan Dok said firmly. "We're in this together. And when the time comes, they'll see what we've built."

Wang Soo smiled, a flicker of determination reigniting within him. No matter the challenges ahead, he was ready to face them head-on.

With Ja Hid stepping away and the stakes rising higher, Wang Soo's path forward grew increasingly treacherous. But with trusted allies by his side, he remained resolute, determined to see his vision through to the end.
