Capítulo 39: Phoenix Burst
*BANG!*
A figure was suddenly hurled flying, crashing through multiple trees, by an enormous force. However, due to possessing durability which far surpassed every other, he gently maneuvered his body, spinning himself around in the air, like an experienced acrobat and landed gracefully and steadied himself.
"You're far tenacious than any sorcerer I've ever met."
Raising his head, he emotionlessly glanced north, gazing at the beautiful young woman walking towards him fiddling with a piece of paper while a small condescending smile hang on her face.
"You know, I can tell you've not been learnt to materialize your inner domain. Although your cursed energy is immense, and outright terrifying, you do not have total control over it and that is a weakness.."
She spoke, while squinting her eyes, and sensing that terrifying cursed energy which made her shudder.
"Spare me the chitchat. If you're gonna attack, then do it already. You're wasting my time..."
Kenshin rolled his eyes with a bored expression and simply gestured to her mockingly with his fingers.
"Hahaha, over confident ain't ya? Well my cursed technique allows me to turn my cursed energy into sheets of paper, which can assume any form I want. The only limit to this is my imagination...."
With her expression getting serious in an instant, she waved her hand, summoning an uncountable amount of white sheets of paper from her body, which immediately coalesced into a small platform beneath her feet and began levitating her body into the sky.
"Fancy, very fancy..."
Kenshin couldn't help but applaud in appreciation, seeing the magic trick that was happening right before his eyes.
"Tsk.."
Snorting, she moved her palms in tandem, summoning an extremely life like large draconic beast made from sheets of paper.
*ROOARR!*
Letting out a roar, the dragon slammed its paws into the earth, causing it to quake furiously, before it soared into the air and then blasted towards Kenshin who was a bit surprised.
'Her Cursed Technique is really top notch. This level of destructiveness of this dragon is probably on the level of the twin dragon shikigamis without their unique abilities...'
He readied himself, summoning his three sectioned cudgel into his hands, as well as dozens of third grade swords which he allowed to revolve around him like an armor.
*BANG!*
Without hesitation, he clashed head on with the dragon, going toe to toe with it even to the point of completely overpowering it in pure strength while still holding his true strength back.
'What a terrifying strength!!' Kasumi uttered with squinted brows, seeing Kenshin decimate her dragon apparition with just pure physical might.
Despite the dragon's fierce attempts to fight back, Kenshin was unrelenting. Using his cudgel as a whip, he continually ripped apart the body of the dragon, until there was almost nothing left.
However, just as he landed on the ground in the next moment, his battle instincts kicked in, as the swords that revolved around his body, joined together at their hilts and formed a circular protective dome before his body.
*BOOOMM!*
Right at the instant, a beam of highly condensed cursed energy with a whitish glow immediately burst out of the mouth of another dragon which had stealthily been formed by Kasumi.
At the point of collision, Kenshin was hurled back by the unparalleled might, as his figure crashed into multiple trees and smashed into the ground.
"Damn, that almost got me excited for a moment.."
Kenshin slowly arose from the crater in which his body lay, and stretched his back, before his mouth widened in surprise, seeing about 3 large dragons as well as multiple humanoid clones armed with all sorts of weapons gazing towards him and ready to attack.
"That's quite the lineup you've got there, but unfortunately it won't be enough.."
Walking out of the crater, Kenshin simply glared at her and lazily stretched his waist.
"I didn't even think I'll need to use this level of an attack against someone like you..." Kasumi let out a condescending smile and waved her finger.
"Unfortunately for you, paper has a really big weakness, it can easily be burnt....
"Phoenix Burst!!"
Finishing his statement with a roar, a blazing golden flame burst out of his body like a typhoon, as his body began to undergo a visible change.
His skin turned grey and dry, resembling scales. His pupils turned golden like the sun, and his hair turned fiery like a demon God. His canines grew a little longer, and his complete outlook resembled a sort of flaming demon God from hell.
"What the hell are you?!" Screaming in shock, Kasumi watched him simply stretch his arm towards her army of paper clones, as a glistening golden flame slowly arose from his core and spewed out in all directions completely consuming everything in its path, reducing the surroundings to cinders.
She was completely gobsmacked by the immense pressure and heat that the flame generated.
"Let's end this....Flame Beheader!!"
Resting his golden pupils on her body, he simply spoke and held up a couple of fingers, gently punching out a couple of golden seals in the air.
*BOOM!*
The next moment, a large flame energy beam burst out towards her, causing the surrounding temperature to increase drastically.
Summoning a large swarm of sheets of paper before her to construct a shield, she tried blocking the swarm of flames, however, she quickly realized the folly of her actions and leapt into the air, dodging the fiery onslaught with a grim expression.
"You're strong, but I can still take you...
Maximum Technique..Cosmic Onslaught!"
Raising both of her arms into the sky, she summoned all of her cursed energy and materialized an extremely large meteor wrapped in a sheath of cursed energy, which descended towards Kenshin at breakneck speed, with the power to obliterate.
"You day you can still take care of me..but all I see above me is a paper rock..."
Raising his head towards the devil incoming meteor, Kenshin let out a snort, before he simply closed his eyes and summoned the Phoenix flames from his very core.
"Aarghhh!"
Letting out a small bestial roar, the flames travelled along his body, causing no harm to him, before they instantly burst upwards, crashing into the incoming meteor, like a flaming typhoon.
Despite using her all to support her technique, the overwhelming power of the Phoenix flames were evident, as it completely swallowed the meteor and exploded, sending an after wave of flames that swept out in all directions.
Kasumi was hurled back like meteor and sent crashing into multiple trees while puking blood.
Raising her head to glare at the figure of the flaming demon God before her, she couldn't help but feel a deep sense of inferiority.
Now that she thought about it, she realized that Kenshin wasn't really giving his all in the battle like she had. He had gone easy on her from the beginning, otherwise she would've been dead rather than injured.
