Capítulo 29: Chapter Twenty Nine
Vina looked up and saw Albert
“Albert?” She called but she was glad that at least someone came to her rescue.
He beat the four boys mercilessly making sure that all of them were bleeding before he stopped. They ran away after he finished beating them and also gave them some cash.
Vina kept sitting on the ground, still in shock not believing she was almost raped but Albert bent in front of her and arranged her scattered hair with his hand
“I’m sorry” he said looking straight at her feeling bad
“Albert” she said as tears came out of her eyes
”Don’t cry” he said, wiping her tears
“Albert she said again, breaking down in complete tears
”The life of a thief that I’ve lived keeps haunting me and they tried to rape me because I once stole from them” she said, sniffing as she cried.
”But you’re changed so you should be happy for that dear, just stop crying please and I’m sure they won’t try it again” Albert said but her tears kept falling but he gave her one last glance before pulling her into a tight hug, stroking her hair along with it
“Why do I feel like I’m going insane watching you cry?” Albert asked himself as her tears continued falling on his shoulder.
Vina cried in his arms for a long while and he stayed without letting go. He felt sad seeing her cry like that, but happy at the same time because he was there for her. Then she disengaged fron the hug and faced him
"Thanks" she said but he wiped the trace of tears left on her face
"It's ok, now don't cry anymore Please" Albert said pleadingly
She nodded and he helped her to stand up
"Thanks once again" she said
"Smile first" Albert said
"Oh Albert" Vina called
"Smile please." He interrupted then she smiled broadly although she never wanted to make it broad but she smiled more when she saw his smiling face then he hugged her again
"You're pretty, so don't ruin that face with redness as a result of tears" he said
"I won't cry anymore" she replied
"Promise?" He asked
"Promise" she replied
Few months later Julius and Janet got married and ago and Janet is now a proud chairwoman of Julius company.
Ruby's stomach is pretty big right now, protruding so much indicating that within that period of, she'll put to bed
"You should have called me to come and carry you" Richard said when he came out of the kitchen and met Ruby on the stairs slowly climbing down in the morning
He was wearing an apron, though there are still maids in the house but since she got pregnant, he has been the one cooking her meals just the way she wants it, he'll never allow her to walk even inside the house by herself because he prefers carrying her.
"I need exercises too you know" she replied and he climbed up to her and carried her in his arms then took her downstairs
"I must be pretty heavy" she said
"No matter how heavy you are, my arms are strong enough to carry you my lobe" he said sitting her on the couch as he knelt in front of her and raised the big blouse from her belly and kissed it countlessly
"At this rate, our baby will be a good kisser" she said
"Sure, just like his father" he replied and kissed her deeply too
"I love you baby" she said
"I Love you more darling, the spicy rice you requested for is almost done but I didn't put much spice because it's not good for our baby" he said
"I understand, so long as you prepared it, I'll eat it. Thanks for all the care Richard, a man like you is rare I swear" she said and
he smiled standing up
"And a woman like you is rare too, I'm coming" he said and pecked her before entering the kitchen.
He brought out the dished food and set it on the dinning table then went up and guided her to the dinning table
She sat and he started feeding her
"I'm going to become lazy, let me eat it myself at least" she said
"No, and you know what? Please become lazy at least it'll stop you from being a workaholic" he replied but she smiled as she took another spoon of rice but Albert entered shortly and perceived the aroma hanging in the air
"Hmmmmn, how delicious" He remarked coming in fully
"Thief" Richard said but Albert sat on a dinning chair
"I don't mind being a thief but I must eat this" he said, going into the kitchen and dished a plate of rice before coming back to the table and began to eating
"How's Vina doing?* Richard asked
"She's fine" Ruby replied but Richard interrupted
"I know, I knowingly asked from him" Richard replied
"She's doing fine like she has always been doing" Albert responded
"Stop pretending like you don't know what I'm talking about, the love bug has bitten you and you know it so stop trying to kill what you feel for her and go for it instead so we'll all be happy" Richard said
"You don't know my mind" Albert said
" I don't need to know your mind, it's glaring on your face that you love her. When she won the face of Everything's Flashy touch, you threw a party and danced with her. I saw how you were staring at her all through so Albert, stop deceiving yourself. You're a Changed man now and you'll be clocking Thirty in the next two months and you have no girlfriend talkless of a fiancee Dad will be disappointed in heaven" Richard said
"Albert dear just listen to your heart ok?, If you're thinking she wouldn't accept you maybe because of your past life, screw that and tell her, listen to what she'll say first before jumping into conclusions, you're handsome you know" Ruby said and Albert smiled.
"Thanks both of you" Richard said and immediately Dr Faith came in with a big smile on her face. Because of Ruby, she moved her hospital to the city so she'll be close to her and
she's living in same street now
"Mum" Ruby exclaimed rushing to hug Dr Faith
"My baby" Dr Faith responded as she embraced her as well
"Thanks for always taking care of my baby Richard" she said
" It's my work mummy" Richard replied
"I guess I'll have to eat this too, you just won't injure someone with your cooking" Dr Faith said, going into the kitchen to dish herself some food.
"So Albert please talk to Vee" Ruby encouraged.
The following day, Vina entered the building and fell on a couch. She just came back from a wedding ceremony where she did the bride makeup and the makeup of all the bridal train then the groom and the best men
Although she went with her colleagues but they just passed her the equipments as everyone wants her to do their makeup because she's too good!
"Good job Vina" Flashy said sitting in front of her
"Thanks Miss, I'm just so tired and I have finger cramps" she replied
"Let me give you a massage" Flashy said
"No boss, I'll just go for it later but for now all I need is rest" she replied
"Ok dear, you can take the rest of today off" Flashy said
"Thanks so much boss" she replied standing up and she hugged Flashy before leaving the building
"Albert, that jerk" she thought, staring at his picture on her phone because she made him her wallpaper.
She has fallen greatly in love with him but the nuthead seems to be unconcerned and it hurts. She's not that type who knows how to speak first so she kept it in for the past months and It's the hardest thing she has ever done
She won the face of Everything's Flashy touch just last month and she became popular like Flashy herself but she intends to spend one more week with her before creating her own makeup institute as she has been saving.
A message popped up on her phone from Albert which instructed her to look at the Left and when she did, she saw his car beside the road and smiles took over her face as she ran there. She opened the car door and entered, sitting beside him in the front seat.
"How has your day been?" He asked
"Hectic, so hectic but I'll leave Damsel's touch next week and start planning how to create Vina's touch" she replied and he smiled before concentrating back on his driving
"By the way, you look good on black, I've noticed that a lot of time" she said
"Thanks " he replied casually and a message beeped on her phone in her bag then Albert looked at it and his eyes widened when he saw himself as her wallpaper.
Vina took the phone and checked confirming the message was from Janet
"From Janet and she's telling me that she misses me even after seeing me yesterday" she said
Albert kept mute and drove untill they got to a big building, which looks new and a colourful gift nylon was used to cover something at the front untill some workers came out of the building
"It's all set for work sir" one of them said
"Take out the gift wrap in front of the name" Albert said and they got a long ladder which they used in climbing up the building.
When he removed the wrap covering the name, in front of it
Vina's touch was written boldly and Vina covered her mouth in shock
"It's yours and your makeup institute" he said
"Albert" Vina called not knowing what else to say
"It's small but just accept it heartily" he said with a cute smile
"Oh my God, I can't believe this!" Vina exclaimed and rushed in
Albert dismissed the workers and got a small box from the car he went in too while Vina checked out the place and admired how big and clean it was and also painted white.
"Albert how would I thank you enough for everything you've done for me" she said facing him gladly
"Just tell the truth" he said
"Truth about what?"
"Why did you use my picture as your wallpaper?, Do you like me?" Albert asked and vina's heart skipped a beat
"Oh God, he saw it?" Vina wondered in her mind
"Lovina Adams?" He call
"I... I'm.. I don't..." She started stammering awkwardly untill he pointed a box at her which she took.
"You can check" he said but when she opened it, she saw a small cake baked in the shape of a heart then she looked at him
"That's my heart and I hope you accept it" he said slowly, shyly looking away
"Huh?"
"Don't be dumb, it means that I love you" he said shyly, still not looking at her and her eyes widened
"Albert really?" She asked with a smile
"You're punishing me already just tell me your answer" he said still looking at the ground but she rushed to him and hugged him tightly
"I'm too glad" she said very overwhelmed
"Meaning?"
"Don't act too dumb as well, using your picture as my wallpaper meant I want to see your face always and you know what that means" she said
"Still not getting it" Albert replied, wanting her to say the real deal then he broke the hug and faced him
"I love you too Albert Peak, be my crown" she said with a wide charming smile then Albert smiled and pulled her closer, hugging her closely
"Richard and Ruby, it worked" he said silently
Vina disengaged from the hug but he raised his hand to her earlobe, rubbed it gently as they stared at each other
"Can't believe I fell in love because I used to call it shit" he said
"So you fell in deep shit" Vina asked laughing
"I just realized it's not shit, as long as it's you I fell In love with, I now know that love is beautiful" he said
"Really?" Vina asked surprised
"Yes baby, wait I need to do something first" he said, rubbing her ear more
"What is it?"
"Relax and just kiss me back because I love you" he said and kissed her immediately which she responded happily
They both have never felt like this before. His tongue found its way into her mouth and she felt the ring on it, it was cold and at the same time adding to the sweetness
He tasted like pop, the type of lollipop you'll want to take over and over again. The kiss was rough but maybe that was his style but it was sweet at the same time
She held unto his sides and he rubbed her back as they broke the kiss to catch their breaths and stare at each other for so long. Their looks was now a mix of passion and affection
"Albert"
"I'm not done yet Vee there is honey on your lips" he said
"No, I've not had honey all this year" she said
*Maybe for me because I can taste honey, and I can't get enough of it baby" he said and recaptured her lips again in another deep kiss.
This time, her hand shifted from his sides to his back and his hands went from her back to her soft butt" as the kiss went deeper and her moans filled the building.
Vina broke it after some minutes and pecked him on the cheeks and he smiled widely because right now the lady in front of him means a whole lot to him
"I love you so much" Vina said
"I love you too Vee” he replied and was about to kiss her again but his phone interrupted likewise Vina's as well
They picked almost at the same time and after picking, they looked at each other and smiles took over their faces and Albert held her hand as they left the building
They got in the car and Albert drove them to the hospital because Ruby just gave birth to a bouncing baby girl and
the baby was already in his coat, struggling in her small space
And even at the fact that she's a new born baby, she looks a lot like Ruby already
Richard was sitting beside Ruby who’s laying on the bed with
Julius and Janet were present already with Dr Faith
“It was like a miracle, she didn’t spend up to thirty minutes in the labour room” Richard said.
”Wow” Vina said surprisingly
”That’s surprising” Albert replied
“I’m just glad I’m finally a grandmother” Dr Faith said
“And I’m glad that apart from a beautiful brainy wife, I've got a beautiful cutie as my first fruit, I can’t ask for more” Richard said kissing Ruby lightl
”Thanks for bringing our baby home safely” he said
“It’s my pleasure” she replied with a big smile on her face..
”So news flash everyone” Vina suddenly said
”Vina” Albert said quietly but she pretended like she didn’t hear
“I’m officially Albert's girlfriend” she said
"And maybe the spirit of shyness decided to visit him today because he's shy right now
“Oh my God” Janet screamed
“You finally fell in shit” Julius giggled
“Great news” Dr Faith
“Albert thanks for this you don’t know how happy I am for you, that you finally decided to be a man” Ruby said and Albert covered his face with his palm untill Richard walked up to him and hugged him.
“Hey” Albert said finally
“I’m just so happy that you eventually did the right thing Albert I love you bro” Richard said, patting Albert's back while
Janet hugged Vina as well
”Good day ladies and gents, I present to you Miss Magnet who has finally hooked Mr Casanova” Janet said
”Don’t call us that again, everything has changed now” Vina said
“I’m proud of you daughter” Dr Faith said and hugged her too
”I love you Vina” Ruby said and Janet hugged her on the bed
”I love you more sis, and thanks for bringing that cutie safely to the world” she replied, pecking her
”Congratulations Vee” Julius said
“Thanks Julius” she replied
”And another news flash, I’m two months pregnant” Janet said
“Oh ma God Congratulations sis” Ruby exclaimed
”Congrats former secretary” Albert said
“Congratulations sis” Vina said
“Congrats” Richard said with a wide smile
”Congrats baby” Dr Faith said and hugged her
*So no one is telling me congratulations despite the fact that I’m the manufacturer it’s unfair” Julius said and they all laughed before congratulating him too
”Today is a happy day I swear you came to earth on a happy day” Dr Faith said stroking the baby’s cheek in the cot
“Her name is Benedicta” Ruby said
“Yeah” Richard replied
“How cute my Benedicta” Dr Faith said
