Raymond pulled Vanessa to the parking lot and looked intently into her eyes, and went down on his knees. This action drew the attention of other people who were present at the scene. Vanessa who was always conscious of her environment saw how almost all eyes were focused on them and she bowed her head in embarrassment.
"Vanessa, I ..." Raymond began but was interrupted by Vanessa.
" I guess you don't notice how embarrassing this position is. For the sake of your dignity and mine, let's talk some where else in a different position" Vanessa said in almost a whisper, but loud enough for Raymond to hear him.
"I know how much you despise me..." Raymond continued and was taken off guard when Vanessa bent and kissed him on his lips. For a brief moment, Raymond's eyes widened and felt like they were coming out their sockets. He wasn't expecting this, but he didn't push her away either. When Vanessa broke the kiss, she extended her hand. Raymond took her hand and stood up, grinning like a boy. He knew everything Vanessa did, was to save their images, not because she wanted to do. However, he suddenly felt the urge to embarrass her often.
"I don't think I can stay here a minute longer. I will like to leave. I will pay you a visit tomorrow." Vanessa said with her gaze fixed on his face. She was annoyed with how Raymond kept grinning but there was nothing she could do. She kissed him when she saw how people had started to record their 'little act'. She kissed him to save his sorry ass, not because she had any ulterior motive.
"I'll be expecting you tomorrow hopefully. But do you know where I live?" Raymond asked still grinning.
"Let's see" Vanessa said wearing her signature smile and began to walk away from him. Raymond watched Vanessa walk towards her car and drove away without looking at him. Somehow he felt disappointed in himself for expecting more from her. Raymond walked back the cafeteria after Vanessa's car was out of his sight. He saw Aida, who looked anxiously at him as he approached her.
"What did you order for?" Raymond asked as he sat opposite her.
Aida noticed how his foul mood was suddenly lightened. Somehow she felt disappointed and relived when she didn't see Vanessa with him.
"What happened?" Aida asked unable to hide her curiosity. "Where's she?"
"Who?" Raymond feigned ignorance.
"My..... Dr Wilson" Aida said, with difficulty on how to address Vanessa.
"You mean your mom? She's left already" Raymond replied as he kept his gaze on the waiter who was approaching their table with a tray. Aida's reaction to his statement didn't go unnoticed by him.
"She's not my mother" Aida retorted.
"That's another topic for discussion. I'm sorry we can't discuss it right now. I need food now" he replied and smirked which irked Aida more. He knew Aida would order for a meal for two so he didn't bother to request for the menu. When the meal was served, they ate in silence, both lost in their own thoughts. He was away for less than six minutes, but his mood swinged drastically and Aida was dying to know why. After all bills were sorted out, they left. Once in his car, Raymond broke the news.
"Van, will be visiting us tomorrow"
