Samuel smiled, "We are here to end this war, not joining it."

Jean was a bit disappointed when he heard that. The war will be a breeze for Inver if they can borrow Ryntum's strength.

Alas, stopping a war would be a nice outcome as well. Since Ryntum had made it clear about their intention, there was nothing Jean could do. This mayor doesn't seem like someone who can be swayed by words.

"Is there anything I can help you with, Mayor Samuel?" Jean asked. 

As he didn't have a chance to get his ideas included in the negotiating term, Jean thought it would be better for him to leave a good impression of himself in front of Samuel.

A friendship with someone of Samuel's stature will help him a lot in the future.

"There is something Sir Jean can help me with."

"What is it? You can consider it done as long as it was within my power."

"I need to borrow your flag. That's it," said Samuel.
