A deafening silence fell across the room as I could imagine my dad freezing in his spot too while looking at the ambiguous position Hayden and I were in, especially with him being nearly naked.

Oh, my Goddess! How much more awkward and embarrassing could this be?!

Dad wouldn't get the wrong idea, would he?

Hayden was the first to move and turned to greet my dad calmly. “Good morning, Alpha Alrick.”

Dad greeted him back politely yet coldly. “Alpha Hayden. Please leave the room first. I need a private moment with my daughter.”

“Alright.” Hayden looked at me and said, “I’ll wait outside the room.”

I nodded without thinking.

He quickly put on the spare hospital gown, which thankfully was not too small for him, and took off the towel covering his lower body before leaving the room and closing the door behind him, giving me and my dad a private moment, just as my dad had requested.

“Good morning, Dad.” I smiled at him which I knew looked kind of awkward.
