1.27% Reincarnation Paradise: Different Hunter / Chapter 2: Just Tell Me If You Want Me Dead

Capítulo 2: Just Tell Me If You Want Me Dead

When Lin Jiu woke up again, he found himself in a simple room. The room was only about a dozen square meters in size, and the furnishings were minimal. Besides the bed he was lying on, there was nothing else.

A black tattoo shaped like a sharp sword appeared on his forearm. The pale blue text appeared again, but this time it wasn't floating in the air. Instead, it appeared directly in his line of sight, staying fixed in place even when he shifted his gaze as if embedded in his retinas.

The text read as follows:

Entering World: Pokémon

World Difficulty: LV.10 Purgatory (This difficulty is for the Hunter's trial)

World Source: 0% (The Hunter can increase this by exploring or interacting with the world's inhabitants. It will be calculated along with the mission difficulty at the end of the world to form the final score.)

World Description: In the sky, the sea, the mountains, the forests, the plains, and the towns, you can see the figures of Pokémon.

Main Mission: Personally expel Dialga & Palkia

Side Missions: None

Warning: Do not mention anything about Reincarnation Paradise in this world. Failure to comply will result in forced execution!

Tip: This world is a special derivative world. The coordinates were provided by the Hunter, so rewards are significantly increased.

Tip: Since it is the Hunter's first entry into this world, the world's language will be automatically mastered by the Hunter for 30 natural days.

=====

"Just tell me if you want me dead! Why throw me into this world? Isn't this a waste of space-time energy?"

Lin Jiu read the trial mission for this world, his face darkening as he looked around for something to vent his frustration on.

Taking a few deep breaths, Lin Jiu calmed himself down and started analyzing his situation. The Pokémon world might look like a child-friendly place, but such worlds often hid terrifying dangers, especially since the power ceiling was so high. A fully-equipped Arceus might have the strength of a seventh-tier entity, while Dialga & Palkia could be fifth or sixth-tier.

Never mind, might as well go die! Lin Jiu thought, his anger boiling over. He was just an ordinary person, yet he was supposed to expel two fifth-tier entities. If this got out in Reincarnation Paradise, it would be a joke.

Staring at the description for a long time, Lin Jiu considered the possibility of completing the mission. It lay in the phrase "coordinates provided by the Hunter." The Hunter referred to Lin Jiu, but he was just an ordinary person. How could he provide world coordinates? The only possibility was the metal disc that pulled him into Reincarnation Paradise.

Putting aside the Reincarnation Disc for now, Lin Jiu carefully pondered the meaning of the message. Since he provided this world's coordinates, this place originally didn't belong to Reincarnation Paradise's derivative worlds. Therefore, he was the only visitor from Reincarnation Paradise here.

This was good news! Contractors knew that the high mortality rates in derivative worlds were due to battles among contractors and significant changes to the storyline caused by their presence.

Lin Jiu thought this through and opened the mission options, where detailed information appeared.

[Main Mission: Expel Dialga & Palkia]

Difficulty Level: LV.10

Mission Description: A "time-space rift" has appeared above Alamos(Poplar) Town, and two Pokémon, Dialga and Palkia, known as gods, have shown up!

Mission Information: Use any method to expel Dialga & Palkia Twin Gods from Alamos Town.

Mission Deadline: 30 natural days

Mission Reward: Full activation of Hunter status. Title: [Pioneer]

=====

This trial mission's difficulty truly lived up to the name "Hell". In a normal Pokémon world, even though he was just an ordinary person, staying in town would be relatively safe because the world had order. But to complete the mission, he'd have to face the Time-Space Twin Gods head-on and deal with the villainous Team Galactic.

They wouldn't hesitate to kill an ordinary person without a Pokémon. And currently, Lin Jiu didn't even have a Pokémon; he probably couldn't even beat Ash.

Lin Jiu opened his personal information to check:

Contractor No. 13014 (For the Hunter's protection, this is a false number. No method can lock onto the Hunter.)

Name: Lin Jiu (Hunter)

Level: LV.1 (First Tier). (Every 10 levels constitute a tier. Level increases do not grant any attribute bonuses, they correspond to the Hunter's permissions within the Paradise, as well as world and mission difficulty.)

Health: 100%. (This attribute cannot be fully quantified and changes according to the degree of injury.)

Mana: 70. (Intelligence × 10, current mana regeneration rate is 3.2 points per hour.)

Strength: 5 (Related to attack power, carrying capacity, etc.)

Agility: 5 (Related to movement and attack speed, etc.)

Stamina: 7 (Related to health, defense, abnormal resistance, etc.)

Intelligence: 7 (Related to spell damage, mana, perception, etc.)

Charisma: 7 (Related to social interactions, summoning, etc.)

Luck: 1 (Related to item drops, crafting, etc. This attribute is extremely difficult to improve, so the Hunter should cherish any opportunity to enhance it.)

Note: The standard attributes for an adult male are 5 points, with luck being 1 point.

Reforged Talent: Soul Condensation. Each time you defeat an opponent, you gain a small amount of their soul power (can be repeated). There is a set limit for each world!

[Personal information is provided to help the Hunter assess their strength and is not directly related to actual combat power. While the attribute values affect the Hunter's physical qualities, combat is not solely determined by physical qualities, so the Hunter should exercise caution.]

====

It seemed that his years of part-time training had made his stamina stronger than his other attributes. As for intelligence, Lin Jiu didn't think he had exceptional intelligence, so he guessed it was related to his [Soul Condensation] talent.

Moreover, the talent had the prefix "Reforged," which puzzled Lin Jiu. The character "Condense" in "Soul Condensation" seemed to have been tampered with, though he wasn't sure if it was just his imagination. These questions would have to wait until he returned to Reincarnation Paradise to inquire about. Provided he could survive and make it back!

"If the possibility of completing the mission lies in me being the only contractor in this world, then the significantly increased rewards for pioneering a new world are my chance, and I must seize it!"

Lin Jiu's eyes flashed with determination. He could opt out of the trial and become a regular contractor, participating in normal trials.

But he never considered giving up. After enduring so much over the years, the opportunity for a breakthrough was right in front of him. Not giving it his all would be a disservice to himself.

Lin Jiu stepped out of the room, finding a few scattered houses, with the entrance to a nearby forest not far away.

"You finally woke up!"

As Lin Jiu left the house, he was greeted by a boy no taller than 1.5 meters, around ten years old, who exclaimed joyfully upon seeing him.

"Hello, can you tell me what's going on? How did I end up here?"

Lin Jiu asked, bewildered.

"My name is Breeze. My friends and I found you unconscious by the roadside on our way back and brought you here," Breeze said, scratching his head and smiling.

"Thank you!"

Lin Jiu smiled, thinking the name sounded very much like something from Pokémon.

"Big brother, why were you passed out in front of the forest? Are you a Pokemon trainer?"

Breeze asked, his eyes filled with admiration. It was clear he came from an ordinary family, unable to rely on the league for a starter Pokemon.

Lin Jiu smiled and ruffled the boy's hair.

"I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. I'm just an ordinary traveler, not a Pokemon trainer."

After enjoying a meal at Breeze's house, Lin Jiu gathered some information through subtle questions combined with what he already knew. He was currently in a small village near Twinleaf Town, and the Lily of the Valley Conference was in the preparation stage. Trainers who wanted to participate were gathering in Sinnoh for gym challenges.

Lin Jiu didn't linger. With limited time, he replenished his energy, obtained some healing items and bandages, and set off into the forest.

...

"This is tough!"

Lin Jiu muttered, holding a thick wooden stick, facing off against a red, arm-sized bug. He recognized it as a Bug-type Pokémon, Wurmple.

Having had no formal training, Lin Jiu could only wield the stick and use a simple downward strike. The Wurmple hissed angrily, and he could see its health bar decrease slightly.

The Wurmple suddenly sprang up, its sharp horn aimed at Lin Jiu's stick. The stick broke instantly, forcing Lin Jiu to take two steps back. The Wurmple also fell painfully and rolled over twice.

Lin Jiu gripped the remaining half of the stick in one hand and picked up a stone from the ground with the other. He saw the Wurmple form a "C" shape, both its head and tail facing him.

Holding the wooden stick, he lightly swung it a couple of times to increase his focus. He needed to be even more careful now. The sharp spike on Wurmple's tail was poisonous, and getting stung here, with no one around to help, would be fatal.

Being the first contractor to arrive in this world was indeed challenging. He had no identity, no Poke Balls, no money, and no combat skills. He had to engage in hand-to-hand combat right away. Even though Wurmple had a base stat total of less than 200, it was still no ordinary creature. A higher-level Wurmple could even use some skills!

The sharp needle on Wurmple's tail glittered in the sunlight, but there was no sign of poison energy. At least Lin Jiu didn't have to worry about the Pokemon using the Poison Sting move; he just needed to be cautious about the natural poison on the needle.

The enraged Wurmple couldn't hold back any longer. It coiled its body and then suddenly sprang towards Lin Jiu. Lin Jiu was prepared; as long as Wurmple didn't use Poison Sting, he could handle it!

As Wurmple coiled, Lin Jiu moved to the side. When Wurmple sprang forward, Lin Jiu was already dodging, and as Wurmple's body flew past, he struck its soft underbelly with the remaining half of his stick.

"Hisss~"

Wurmple fell to the ground. Before it could right itself, Lin Jiu pounced on it, stepping on its tail to immobilize the stinger. He then smashed the prepared stone down on Wurmple's head with all his might.

Seeing Wurmple completely knocked out, Lin Jiu breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, this Wurmple didn't know Poison Sting. The moment Wurmple was knocked out, Lin Jiu felt a cool sensation in his mind, which he attributed to the effect of his [Soul Condensation] talent as described in his personal information.

Lin Jiu shook off the soreness in his arm and looked at the unconscious Wurmple with a hint of regret. He picked up the stone and killed Wurmple.

Bug-type Pokemon have short growth cycles. Although their lifespans are brief, they could quickly become assets to help Lin Jiu complete his mission. Unfortunately, without a Poke Ball to capture this Wurmple, he had no choice but to kill it.

After killing Wurmple, the cool sensation in Lin Jiu's mind became more pronounced. He realized that in the talent description, killing also counted as defeating, and it had a much stronger effect. However, the advantage of mere defeat was that it could be repeated!

[You have killed Wurmple]

[Gained 1% of World Source (Reward Enhanced)]

[Your talent, Soul Condensation, activated, permanently increasing a portion of soul power. Current soul power has not reached the display threshold.]

[You received a treasure chest (Green · Reward Enhanced)]

[This is your first kill, storage space is unlocked (2 square meters). Upon returning to Reincarnation Paradise, the storage space can be upgraded with Paradise Coins.]
